“Detroit native living in Texas I wanted a corned beef sandwich before leaving Chicago. Went in ordered 2 mile high sandwiches for me and my boyfriend before heading to the airport. I wanted to taste the sandwiches to make sure they would hit. I only got corned beef from Detroit and my favorites are from coney islands. We took one bite of this sandwich turned around and got 2 more. The corned beef melts like butter sandwiches are amazing“

I'm not sure what flavor they have.My grandson and they taste okay. You walk in the male urinal to the left and a supposed to be private door for the use of women and kids. That door the lock didn't stay secure. There was no hand soap as well. I had my grandson stand by the door .So this is part of the reason for the 4-star rate.“

“Ive been to almost alll Submmarines but this one takes it for the win! They were so welcoming and friendly and super clean for a small sandwich shop. Not only do they have a wide variety for subs and add ons but they also sell hot dogs , italian beefs , burgers and pizza puffs as well as so many side options from fries to mac n cheese bites! Give it a try and you wont regret it! Super clean , very nice family people 10/10And at the end the nice gentleman gave my daughter a free lollipop! Parking: It's going to be a tight fit. You'll be better off using the drive-thru, IMO. Intercom does NOT work. You have to order your food at the window.“

“Always a must stop on my way to or from the Brookfield Zoo. I don't live in the area any more, but when I visit I always try to hit up Mr. Submarine. I don't know what it is, because at face value the ingredients are just OK. But when you get that shredded lettuce soaked with vinegar and oregano, and the not quite sure what kind of cheese it is, mixed with a true sub roll and solid deli meat. It's a beautiful thing. And the grumpy guy behind the counter, he's been there for 30 years. Different faces over the years, but it's the same guy. Just part of the experience. Never change Mr. Submarine.“

“I occasionally drive by Jersey Mikes on 95 th St in Oak Lawn, when you drive by you ask yourself is that place busy? So today I decided to park in back and I walked in at 1230 pm it was slammed , now I know why , the sandwiches are 5 star and the service also!!! Kudos to the employee making the sandwiches, as busy as it was they were friendly calm and cool! The employee has some arm tats and I’m only saying that so their recognized by management, 200% will be back!!!!!!“

“I moved here from philly and have been looking for the closest thing to a hoagie you can get in Chicago. This is the closest I've come so far. I asked if the owner was from Philly and they said yes.My one critique is I asked for hot peeppers hoping for long hots and they put giardiniera, but that was partially my mistake.The rolls could be a bit better, they're very close to that philly/nj roll, and I would say closer than anything else I've found in chicago so far, but they're not quite the same yet.Other reviewers mentioned that they make the bread here in house. I asked if they did and they said no, so I'm not sure why the other reviewers said that.Overall a great hoagie in Chicago! Definitely recommend“

“My middle daughter told me about this place and she wanted me to bring her a gym shoe sandwich actually 2. I tasted it when I got up to Washington and wow it was good. So when I got back to Chicago I went and bought one and I took my girlfriend with me and bought her one as well. We both enjoyed it immensely.“

“Parking: There are about 3 parking spots directly in front of the subway. There appears to be parking to the side of it as well. Since this is at a gas station, there isn't a large lot, but given you are going in and out quickly for a sandwich, it shouldn't be a big issue finding parking.“

“Came here for lunch. First ever Italian beef sandwich! Really impressed! Food was awesome, but the fries were absolutely outstanding! The beef was so flavourful and so tender. The bread was fresh as we. The fries brought me back to a place where I used to get the same flavour of fries when I was a kid. Tried a Chicago hot dog for the first time as well! Quite good!! “Asked for "everything except no mayo" on my sandwich. Poor lady started by putting mayo on it (probably out of habit since most folks want mayo) before realizing her mistake - even before I did. She apologized profusely and had them remake me a sandwich. It was literally the most minor inconvenience in the world that cost me a whopping 2 minutes of added wait time, but they still snuck a free chocolate chip cookie in my bag. Completely unnecessary but much appreciated! Yay for people who actually care about their customers (even though, again, in this case, it barely even qualified as an inconvenience to me, lol). Also the sandwich was delicious!“
