Anthony was responsive to all of our questions throughout the several months leading up to our event, and was on site at the wedding, working every bit as hard as his catering and serving staff, to make sure everything went smoothly. And it really did. The food was remarkably delicious and the staff, kind and helpful. Highly recommend!“

We were very worried ... until we met Alyson at Hearty Boys & did our tasting there. The food is fun and so tasty - packed with flavor and executed perfectly for the big day! Alyson is so kind and made us feel like we were uniquely important to her (even though shes working with dozens of couples at a time). We also have to give a special shout out to Alan - Alan was our dedicated server for the night (which was such a nice touch we weren't expecting) and he took care of all our needs with speed and kindness. She knows what she is doing, and despite the fact that we had a lot to get setup that we designed ourselves (so we didn't have a vendor dedicated to getting our centerpieces and such setup), they did it perfectly and we were blown away when we walked in.

“David and the Blue Plate Catering team were a dream to work with for our wedding celebration. Keeping it in the family, I had tasted the spread at BPC at my moms wedding in 2017 and knew they would be a top choice for our special day!

The appetizers were interesting and yummy, my favorite being the street corn tartlet and the bacon wrapped chorizo - YUM. I was so impressed with the quality of all the meats we had, the beef tenderloin with chimichurri was my personal favorite but the miso salmon and apricot chicken were a hit with our guests. They even offered a special (and bland) meal for my very dietary restricted friend. The end of the evening popcorn bar was such a fun touch to an evening on the dance floor. David’s team was easy to communicate with leading up to the day and day of, were fabulous at the table sides and making sure things were tasty, clean, and full! Hats off to the BPC team, our tastebuds are still singing!!“

“We are so thrilled that we chose to go with Food for Thought for our August wedding! We got married at the Chicago Cultural Center, and while the venue has a number of preferred caterers, FFT was the one on that list that stood out to us. From the first phone call to the final calls and emails, they were so easy to communicate and plan with. Many of our guests said that this was the best food they've had at a wedding, and we agree we them! The hors d'oeuvres, salads, entrees, and custom drinks were all so delicious; everything turned out perfectly.
I also want to give a HUGE shoutout to Kacilynn, who was the one responsible for planning, organizing, and executing everything for us. When we met her for the tasting, she happily answered all of our questions and was just so fun to talk and work with. I had countless questions and updates throughout the planning process, especially in the final weeks, and she was responsive to everything.
One special thing she helped with was the champagne flutes; I had thrifted, cleaned, and packed over 100 champagne flutes for guests to use and take home, and I had been nervous this would be a burden to them to deal with, but she assured me that it could be done. She took the time to help me decide on a display option for them, and her team cleaned them before and after the event and packed away any leftover flutes. Her attention to detail and her ability to pull everything together seamlessly is truly unmatched.
We are beyond grateful to Kacilynn, her team, and everyone else at Food for Thought for making the food and drinks a true highlight of our wedding!“

“It’s about time Chicago gets solid West African cuisine. Dozzy didn’t disappoint. Had the Designer Jollof Rice Bowl and it was delicious. I combined it with a couple orders of the shrimp suya sticks which put it over the top. Now, I loved the jollof, but that’s to be expected. What wasn’t expected was the shrimp. I can honestly say it was some of the best I’ve ever had. The herbs were perfect and it was grilled just the way I like it.
