“They have great luncheon specials with generous portions and a free egg roll. I love hot and spicy dishes; my favorite is Kung Pao Beef which has a ton of flavor (nice heat), a lot of beef, peanuts and very tasty fried rice. I also like their Shrimp Egg Foo Yung. The other reviewer here is totally wrong. Either he needs to add soy sauce or maybe he was going through chemotherapy and had lost his sense of taste. Their service is also terrific and if you phone in your order ahead of time it will be piping hot ready for pickup iun about 15 minutes within 15 minutes.“

Great flavor and perfect temperature and wow, the service we received was amazing by our waiter, JULIA. She was the absolute sweetest and made our experience 10 times better. I had not been to this location but myself and my husband were blown away and will be back. My kids and whole family loved it and even forgot to take pics. “I dined in with a friend and it was our first time here. We both ordered from their Combination Special Lunch Plate Menu.

I ordered the Kung Po Chicken, which included an egg roll and choice of steamed white rice, fried rice, or noodles. I chose the fried rice and my friend had the General Tso's Chicken with fried rice. I will leave it to him to review his own dish should he so choose.

The server brought the egg rolls in advance of serving our entrees and rice. They were piping hot, the hottest I've ever experienced. The outer crust was crispy, not soft and greasy as many of my prior experiences elsewhere have often been. The inside was chock full of tasty ingredients.

We also had their hot and sour soup, which was quite good. It was a nice sized portion for the price and had an abundance of stock.

When our main dishes arrived, they were piping hot and exceptionally generous servings, both in terms of the entree portions and the rice.

My Kung Po Chicken had plenty of chicken along with other ingredients. It was flavorfully seasoned, and spicy, just as their menu indicated. The fried rice was also good. Complimentary hot tea was also provided, which we enjoyed as well.

All this for $9.15 per plate. [Note their online menu showed $10.95, but it was actually $9.15. Even at $10.95 it would have been a good value, but at $9.15 it was a great value, the best I've experienced in quite awhile.]

This was our first time here and likely not our last. It is real close to Midway Airport, which makes it handy when traveling in/out of town.

The service was friendly and efficient, and things were served up in a timely fashion. I highly recommend you giving it a try. If you do, and you don't find it as good as another place you've been, please comment so I can give your reccomendation a try, as I'm always up for exceptional Chinese cuisine.

“My favorite place to get Chinese food! I’ve tried soooo many different places and keep coming back to this location whenever I visit my dad’s place in the burbs. I live in the city now and have tried many places there as well, but wish there was a Chen’s like this near my place. “Great little spot for take out or quick dine in and relax so far my meals have been delicious. The sweet and sour chicken and red sauce is good. The tofu with mixed vegetables is absolutely delicious. The spring rolls are good and so is the egg rolls. The plain fried rice is ok if I wasn't cheap and added meat id be more happy but delicious food and we are back for second round now will update later.

Walking in, you're welcomed by two doors. The outer door slams, leaving you with a jolt of fright and embarrassment. The inner door opens you to what can be described as a small ma and pop shop with two visible tables and 4 seats each; making this a carryout spot but, leaving you with a seat or two if you're on lunch and looking to rest for a bit while eating. I'm pretty sure this was the first time I've eaten food from this restaurant but I am certain, after tonight, it won't be the last.

When it comes to eating Chinese cuisine, I usually have to prepare myself for sodium overload. That wasn't the case here. Every dish prepared for us was cooked perfectly. I could actually taste the other flavors they cooked into their food aside from salt which I've come to associate with most food from Chinese restaurants I've eaten at. The Orange Chicken was also really really good but, diabetics beware, it is extremely sweet; so make sure you have that insulin pen ready for after your meal. I should also mention that their food portions are very generous.

One other thing of note: I scheduled my food to be ready 30 minutes before my arrival. I showed up 5 minutes early and they were still cooking my order. The owner explained to me that they made sure to cook the food as close to the time of arrival as possible to make sure it's still hot by the time I got home with it; given that I show up on time. Most places just cook and let it sit until you show up so I think that was really cool of them.

All in all, I really enjoyed their food and if you're looking for a small ma and pop place that values good and fresh food, you've hit the nail on the head here.“

“Bamboo garden is a hidden gem inside of a first I almost passed it by well, I'm glad I didn't. This place has been a local gem ever since Number One Chop Suey in Oak Forest closed this is. My new go-to for Chinese food. I had the chicken walnut dinner spicy and my friend had beef. Broccoli, both dishes were very good. The restaurant itself was clean. However, they did seem a bit unexpectedly short-staffed for our visit. I would go back. I would recommend it to local friends.“
