My last trip to the area was when I noticed Tamale Hut Café and made note to stop next time I was in the city - today was the day!
I knew that this would be an awesome place for a great authentic tamale - I was definitely spot on.
I LOVE the vegan options offered - I tried a broccoli 🥦, a mushroom 🍄, and a chicken tamale. The green sauce was a very flavorful addition.
What made my experience the best was the customer service provided by Alex - very welcoming when I told him I was excited this was my first visit.
The café is so clean. And seating is open, airy and spacious - makes the atmosphere inside bright and comfortable.
A worthwhile stop-in for a great bite, lunch or dinner - support them!“

“my best friend and I just had the BEST experience at the whale! Our waitress taylor was incredible and the manager (so sorry but we never got his name because he was just being so nice to us) was incredible as well. We will definitely return with friends and recommend anyone to try it out! classy, but not snobby, cool decor, warm kind and accommodating staff, and great food and cocktails are just the cherry on top! try the carrot cake after your meal :) Thank you again to taylor and the manager again <3“

“The pastries are very delicious! I have a variety of them. They are some of the best I have had in unexpected combinations. The latte I had was floral and balanced. It was a Lavender Latte. I live out of town but usually order every time I visit my sister in Chicago. I've never had any complaints, but I'm very grateful for this particular meal that I get to eat tomorrow. “I stopped by earlier because I saw a picture of Dr. Sebi on the window and it caught my attention because Dr. Sebi really inspired me to loose weight and eat alkaline things instead of all that junk food i use to eat and the moment i came in this place i felt a great vibe and it smell great i had a mushroom coffee and some alkiline water and it was delicious i will continue to go back and try other things they have a lot of alkaline things that are good for the body and the owner and the rest of the crew in there are so friendly.“

“lrazú is phenomenal Costa Rican cuisine family Owen...The Pepitos sandwich with avocado is there signature sandwich...The Chifrijo appetizer was delicious recommend a small for two people and I ordered a vegetarian burrito added steak amazing there hot sauce is on point. The food is outstanding. The portions are very generous... The menu is very vegetarian-friendly, and the famous oatmeal shakes deserve the hype. 100% recommend!“

“I really like the bagels here and the sandwiches are great but they do this pet peeve of mine where they post their hours stating they’re open until 3:00 pm. I went there at 2:34 to get a toasted bagel with cream cheese to go and was informed their kitchen closes at 2:30. Just close the store. Lock the door. Turn off the lights at 2:30 then. You’re a bagel place. If you’re not serving food past 2:30 there is no reason to be open.“

“Ordered my son’s first birthday cake (& cupcakes) from here and it was amazing! He has an egg allergy and all the vegan cakes & cupcakes we tried from other places were very dense and did not taste like what we are used to cake tasting like. So once I found this shop, seeing all the positive reviews, I had high hopes and they did not disappoint! The best cake I’ve ever had and of course my son loved it. This will be our go to cake shop from here on out!“

“We've had asianos 2x so far in the year we've lived here and this far our favorite Asian food close to Brookfield. Sushi was affordable and decent. Drunken noodles were to spicy for me but my husband loved them (I chose option 2 thinking happy medium he wanted spicer) and kids tangy chicken was very yummy. Only issue we had wasn't food at all Asianos uses Uber delivery and they delivered to the wrong house.“
