“Ramen noodle restaurant in fashion outlet mall of Chicago. Food was ok. I asked for spicy and it was truly spicy. Egg was not fully cooked. Service was decent and fast. Prices were high, maybe because it's the fancy mall, but I think it is overpriced compared to the food. Food court was noisy.“

“My girlfriend and I recently visited. The atmosphere was amazing and the food was really good, it reminded me of visiting my family in japan, who I have been missing a lot recently. I did find the 20% service charge a bit surprising. I did not see any signage for it or any notice on the menu. I was unsure if it was meant to take place of a tip. I also found it a bit odd that the wait staff would speak to me in Japanese, however, around my girlfriend (who was also using japanese and ordering from the japanese menu), they would speak in English only.“

Immaculate tempura and generally have your order ready quick and fresh.

I got the Edomar Tempura plate and loved it.
I especially love how when you get the plate they include the grated daikon in your tentsuyu! The only place in the US I've seen even include it.

“We were so excited to have found this new place for yummy sushi poke bowl! We adore that modernized look of the restaurant and there are a lot of variety of poke bowls to choose from. My boys like the mushroom and California rolls sushi while I enjoyed the spicy hot fish poke bowl a lot. The staff and owner were super friendly and nice. The place was stylish, neat and clean. The sashimi was fresh and delicious! The food was served fast and the price was reasonable too. We are definitely coming back!“

Both specials we chose also included a rich miso soup. The tempura batter was perfection, crispy and light but not greasy. Everything was presented in a way that was pleasing to the eye. “Went to Yakitori Toritetsu inside Mitsuwa Marketplace, The setup honestly caught my attention right away. It looks like one of those little street grill spots you’d see in Japan. Small counter, grill going, smell of meat in the air… yeah, that smell pulls you in fast. No line when I got there. Staff was friendly but very straight to the point. Order, grill, done. Food came out quick.

It’s basically meat on a stick. The grill gives the meat this nice char on the outside, slightly smoky, and the inside stays juicy. The chicken I had was really tender, soft bite, not dry at all. Each piece had that salty grilled flavor that hits right away, then the smoky taste follows after. Hard to explain but it’s really satisfying.

I did think it could use just a little more seasoning or maybe a stronger glaze… but honestly the simple salt worked. It lets the chicken flavor come through more.

The karage chicken had good crunch and was soft on the inside but seemed over priced for the quantity given. There's a good variety of side sauces that you can put in to go cups yourself at the counter. The wasabi soy sauce was the best. There's a long wait time.“

we chatted with the owner once, and he told us he even makes the wasabi from scratch. the wasabi alone deserves an award, so flavorful, not the harsh store-bought kind. the owner is almost always there, making the sushi himself and running things with such a friendly vibe. he truly deserves recognition. this is literally the only sushi my stomach can tolerate, so that says a lot.

and it’s not just the sushi. their entrées are unforgettable too. my husband swears by the chicken katsu: crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and the portion/price is super fair.
