“Stopped in around 9PM, luckily they were still open. This place serves legit Mexican food. We looked at the menu and asked for tacos al pastor, which wasn’t on there. The lady smiled and said “Yes, we have it”. She didn’t even bother to ask if we wanted it with sour cream because of course we don’t and she knew it.We ended up ordering tacos al pastor, lengua, torta, tempiqua, horchata, jarrito. Sooo good!!“

“This was our second time visiting as a family. I’ve been a time or two prior for casual drinks. It was just what we were looking for a bday dinner. Food was delicious and consistent. The service was great and made for a nice visit. The manager and server both checked in multiple times and were friendly. I appreciated the server offering the tequila option that was from a female owned company. Every time I’ve gone the servers seem to know the promotions and why they are promoting that product.“

Came with a couple of friends from out of town and I definitely think this place nailed a super delicious quesobirria. I will definitely come back. Found my new spot for birria!“

“I will absolutely be returning to this restaurant. Highly recommend it either for a date night or a fun group outing. Their drinks and margaritas were all delicious and not too sweet. The flight of Mezcal was a great experience. I love mezcal but never had tried different kinds before. The waitress was attentive and nice. The chicken poblano enchiladas were delicious, highly recommend! We also ordered the guacamole trio and ceviche appetizers which isn't pictured because we devoured them pretty quickly.“

They tacos were fire. They were also a nice size, wasn’t stingy with the meat and reasonably priced. The rice and chips and salsa were also good. I would definitely recommend“

“I wish I had pictures but the food looked so delicious we just jumped right in; we weren't wrong. We recently moved from the city to Elmhurst and were looking for tacos that could live up to our neighborhood taco guys and we are glad to have found taco villa. Their al pastor is sweet and spicy, just perfection. We also tried the asada and it was good but the al pastor is the way to go. Can't wait to visit again and try some tortas!!“

“Beautiful restaurant, screams chicago definitely very unique I had asada and pastor tacos. they were delicious they had a good amount of meat in em definitely worth their price. The horchata was delicious as well not at all watery. A taco place is as good as their salsa...if you like spicy their red salsa does the job although both are very delicious. Service was friendly and fast I got greeted as soon as I walked in the door. Definitely will be back!“

“I found out I had to host Christmas days before the 25th. I can't describe how friendly, helpful and extremely serviceable they were with me placing a catering order only 2 days from Christmas. Since I needed for the 25th, they opened specifically for my order.....Wow!! The service was phenomenal the food was exceptional!! Truly blessed to have them in the neighborhood! Puerto Rican rice, tostones. lechon, ham and potato salad enough for the entire family (25 people) with left overs for the next day. Thank you doesn't seem enough for the owners. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and service. BTW......pistachio coquito......amazing!!!“

“HIGHLY RECOMMEND! We love the food here. No matter what he have ordered - IT'S SO GOOD. You can tell from the food that the owner LOVES TO COOK. He has meals off menu that he likes to offer because he tries new things. The love of cooking is in everything he does. The service has always been really good, no matter who we get. This is our go to place quite often.“

“Lucidos has THE BEST Al pastor in the entire city of Chicago . I've been to a few dozen taco places in Chicago and this is the best of the best Al pastor. On el trompo is a good sign that they'll be delicious. On top of the spit it a whole pineapple which tastes so much better a little bit charred and not too sweet - unlike using canned pineapples as some restaurants do. The service is very friendly and it's a casual ambiance. I will absolutely be back. Love this place.“

“Such an authentic gem in Oak Park. Vincente Fernandez is playing on the tv. I ordered the cafe de la olla, which I haven't had in forever and was such a delicious comfort to drink on a cold morning. My friends ordered the green chilaquiles and tried the Diablo sauce, which lived up to its name. All were delicious but next time I want to try just a regular order of Rojas chilaquiles. The line was out the door mid morning on a Sunday but the wait was worth it. It's pretty clean here but packed on the regular. Definitely recommend.“

“First time trying it and I was very impressed at the freshness of the food. The place is upscale and inviting. The servers were very attentive and happy to offer me with suggestions. They go out of their way to present the dishes in a very artistically way and it is what it makes it stand out from the rest. I hope to come back soon“

“This was a great place for authentic Mexican food. I rate restaurants not on how fancy they are but on several factors. It starts with chips and salsa, then basic items like tacos (steak/al pastor), then enchiladas. I had tacos (steak, pastor and chile relleno). All were great. Of course service and cleanliness is essential. I highly recommend this place.“

“The looks of the restaurant is down home Cafe style. Nothing fancy or over decorated. It has an extensive menu. The food we ordered was great! Our dishes were definitely reminiscent of Mexico. The service was great. Couldn't ask for a better server. It's a little high on cost, but its genuine. Definitely will be going back.“

Jose was very nice and made sure we were taken care of, great service! “Wow the over 700 reviews here speak for the business. Great atmosphere. The owner is super friendly and the food is fantastic! Swing by in the morning and have some of her special coffee it's the best! I have the steak tacos and it was actual grilled steak. No fat chunks to be spit out here. The steak quesadilla was good as well. We will be back.Parking: Street parking for free.“

“This place isn't very big, but the flavor of the food is! I normally post a picture of what I get. Unfortunately, it looked and smelled so good I couldn't wait. The ingredients were fresh and only took a few minutes to prepare. The cashier and the cook were both very friendly and you could tell they keep it clean here too. If you're in the area and have $5 to spare run in and grab a taco. Try something different and let me know how your experience was.“
“Friendly service, and way better pizza than I ever expected. Pleasantly surprised by the thick bacon, almost more like carnitas. Delicious! Also I don't usually like crust but even the crust is so good. Already looking forward to next visit.“

“My wife, daughter, and I stopped by early this morning and it was great to find this hidden gem. The staff were very friendly, the food was delicious, and prices were more reasonable than several other Mexican restaurants in the area.I had the Chilaquiles (without meat or additional onion) and it had just the right amount of taste and spice. My wife had the Huevos Rancheros which she liked but were a bit too spicy for her. It was her first time trying them. I found them D-lish (I love me some spice!). My daughter had the breakfast burrito... it had chorizo, scrambled eggs, pico de gallo, and 1 or 2 other ingredients. There was plenty of parking and a small outdoor seating area as you walk in if that's your vibe. Definitely will be coming back to try out the rest of the menu. The hours are limited though so you'll have to plan accordingly.“

“This place could easily be passed by, it doesn’t look like the quality food and excellent service establishment that it is. The workers could not be nicer or more efficient, and the food, OMG the food is AMAZING! Highly recommended and cannot wait to go back. Oh yes - their tortilla chips are a must taste!Dietary restrictions: The vegan tacos!????Wheelchair accessibility: Easily accessible and they had the table set up to accommodate our guest in a wheelchair before we arrived.“

“Wanted to check out riverside and it's located nicely in their downtown area. Parking is pretty easy. We did like the drinks and the decor was unique. The downside was that it took such a long time to get our drinks despite there being multiple servers and Or bartenders. Also, they need to update their drink prices and include information on surcharges. It was annoying to see the bill.“

“Last week I was on my way to take my son for a haircut and decided to stop and eat here. It was my first time. Service was great and food delicious. I was not having a good day but tried my best to not show it. As I'm eating I saw a man come in. Eat by himself and then left. My surprise when I went to go pay. This man had paid for my food. Who ever it was Thank you so much if this is ever read. That was a beautiful gesture and completely made my day. I got my son his haircut and took him for some ice cream afterwards. I will definitely pay it forward“

“Whats up fellow taqueros, this is your faithful TacoLoco her to review TTS. This hidden gem is legit. Nice, clean, bright and with great service. But who cares about that! Let's get down to why we came here.I ordered the taco dinner and a Diet Coke. If I'd know it was BYOB, I would have picked up 2 taco degenerates and a 12 Pk of Modelos and had a run at it.The meal was $19, but we'll worth it.The rice was fresh and well balanced. The flavor was authentic and the grains were perfectly cooked. The beans were AMAZING!I had them mix my dinner with one steak, pastor and carnitas. The steak was thin sliced and tasty but would have been better if it was flame grilled, but not bad! The Pastor was great! Light but tally and with real chunks of pineapple. Yes, pineapple. If you know, you know. The carnitas stole the show. They were fresh, lean and moist. Yeah, I said it - Moist! The salsa'a were full of flavor but medium hot. I like scorching lava hot, but these 2 were good. All in all, great place to eat. If you ever need a TD (Taco Degenerate) for company when coming here, 'put me in Coach!'“

“Wish I could give service a 6/5. Food was out in 5 minutes and the woman running the front was above and beyond accommodating allergies. Cannot recommend it enough.“

“Food was very good. I ended up with chilaquiles (with chicken breast) and my friend got the pupusas and dobladas. Really solid, and I appreciate the subtle differences in flavors between the Guatamalan dishes and standard Mexican fare. However, only 4/5 because ordering (in English) was difficult. I tried to get grilled skirt steak and a green chicken enchilada (as a single item, listed that way on the menu) but what was originally brought out was 3 green chicken enchiladas. I explained the issue and thought it was clear but ended up getting brought the chilaquiles. My friend got his pupusas but the dobladas was not brought and had to be ordered again. The food was delicious and I'm not a picky eater so this wasn't a huge deal, but others that need to order a specific thing, in English, may have trouble. I will be back though, and I will brush up on my Spanish.“

“The food was amazing !! I wanted a quick bite after work and ran into this little spot. I got one of each empanada that they had. The chicken one was Devine!! For a small place the food is very tasty and worth the trip. They were also very friendly and patient with my indecisiveness which I greatly appreciated.“

“I will definitely come back for the carne asada torta that tasted charboiled with the soft bun. Also, the warm and soft lengua tacos with the green salsa. They pack the tacos with lots of meat and 2 tortillas each. Horchata tasted homemade with a fine grain and obvious cinnamon flavor. Overall, everything was well made and flavored.“

“Don't be fooled by the somewhat unassuming outside, this restaurant has some of the most deliciously authentic Latin food one can find in the suburbs. I ordered chicken, bean/cheese pupusas with a side of yucca con chicharron and it was definitely worth the wait. HIGHLY recommend.“

“The asada tacos were fantastic. I ordered carnita and tripa and they were also delicious, will definitely be back when we are in the area. The restaurant is very small and has threw high tables in the back, a little challenging if you’ve got little ones but the food is great!“

“My family and I really enjoy the food at this place. We usually go through the drive thru on Montrose. Tonight I placed an order over the phone. When I got there I noticed they had a special for what I ordered at a less price. So I asked if I could be honored the special since I never knew of it and it’s not on the website. The girl tried to process it but she said she couldn’t do it. I came home to find they gave me an extra side of rice which I didn’t order. My total was $35 for two taco dinner which I found to be more than usual. It really annoyed me that I feel like not only did I overpay but the staff did not care to find out if they could honor me and on top of getting my order incorrectly.“

“Food was okay, atmosphere is cool, and the service was great. The food wasn't as flavorful as the other Mexican restaurants I'm used to from around the area. I had the pollo tacos and shared a platter of the nachos. Both were just okay - nothing to rave about. The restaurant itself is clean. Reminded us of a diner! The staff were also super kind and helpful, which is awesome. This hasn't replaced my go-to Mexican restaurant in the area, but I'd still visit again to try something else on the menu!“
“Best tacos in Chicago, not even kidding. The red and green salsa is so flavorful. The red one is my fav. The meat is delicious and barely fatty. The limes are juicy and fresh. Everything is fresh. I used to eat tacos everywhere all the time but I couldn't find a spot that had REALLY good tacos. (I'm Hispanic so I would know real tacos lol). It was to the point where I stopped eating them unless I was at home. I was craving them and decided to stop by here and they were deliciousssss. The cashier girl was really nice too and didn't judge my broken Spanish haha. I'm definitely coming back when I'm in the area!!“
