“When I'm in the area, I like to drop in. I appreciate the different flavors crammed into the little rice balls! The arancini, without the sauces, is still out of sight. But the fact that there's a separate sauce for EACH ONE is phenomenal and really kicks up the flavors! I've had them all, and I would do any first time reader/ visitor a disservice to choose a favorite. You can't go wrong, so give the flight a try! During my last visit I was given a taste of a side of veggies and I commented on the seasoning. The owner (a very genuine and kind man) gave me a small container of his own seasoning for me to try at home. 🥹 as someone who LOVES to cook, this gesture is don't take lightly. “On the evening of July 5 my wife and I tried Avaspi on Belmont Avenue in Lakeview for the first time. It will not be the last! I love lamb and am quite particular as to how is it prepared. The “lamb delight” menu item was the best lamb I have ever had in a restaurant: tender, succulent, and prepared to perfection. The side salad accompanying it was not your ordinary side salad! My wife and I both enjoyed the Mixed Meze appetizer plate. Each of the five items was quite good but the muhammara was to die for. We ended our meal with tea, baklava and kubralice. The décor and ambience were refreshing and relaxing, and the service was outstanding. The pricing was very reasonable. Please give it a try. We do not think you will be disappointed.“

“The concept for the menu is a unique trip along the Pan-American highway with stops at various Latin countries. Each dish and drink is thoughtful in its ingredients and presentation. The jicama salad was refreshing, but not at all plain. The pastel de choclo was a wonderful surprise of a warm dish. The frozen el arenal was seriously dangerous in how delicious it was, I can’t recommend it enough. The atmosphere was beautiful and the music was perfect. We are so thrilled to have this gem in the neighborhood and can’t wait to see what they do in the future!“

Their crew is huge and I believe almost all of them are Arab speaking people. It is self service and you should clean up after yourself. Their prices were on cheaper end and portions are big. The place itself was really clean and the special item on their menu was type of bread they make it to your choosing. I love dolma but theirs felt like it was from can. We asked for hot sauce for some reason hot sauce was more salty than spicy.

Pepperonis were also high quality, if there’s a problem it lies with the sauce. There's hardly any, not even close to enough on either their tavern or NY style. Order the NY style with extra sauce. The tavern is so thin that there’s barely any room for sauce, if you care. Still solid tavern.“

Came to enjoy diner here with a close friend, although I will say the food was good overall the prices were out of line for what food was being served at this restaurant. They need to be a bit more conscientious about what they are charging for some of the dishes there, although I love pasta I did not enjoy spending as much on the food there as I did when knowing I could’ve easily had a better meal from a restaurant I would’ve preferred for steak, but this is the restaurant my friend wanted to go to in particular for the breadsticks and soup, fortunately that is what made the visit worth going. The unlimited soup and breadsticks helped balance out the value of the meal.“
