“After trying Hortiport for a couple of weeks I can say that, compared to the other grocery delivery services, Hortiport eliminates the untrained ‘middle man’. This guarantees your box of goodness will be the freshest and most eye-pleasing, as if you hand selected them yourself! I also appreciated the well curated selection of foodie items from local vendors. (One of whom, coincidentally, is based just 2 blocks from my home!) Helping local farmers and small producers is a ‘feel good’ for me and don’t we all need more of that these days?!“

“If I could give more stars, I would. Over the last couple years I have used many food delivery services, Hello Fresh, Freshly, Cook Unity, and now Wholsesome 360. The difference, QUALITY!!! Fresh ingredients, no fillers, high quality oils and fats, nice portions. Not that the other services are bad, but I compare them to frozen entrees at the grocery store, but taste a bit better. My Wholesome 360 entrees were restaurant quality, but with farm to table fresh ingredients-I could literally taste each of the food elements. If you are considering a food delivery service, I recommend paying the extra dollar per meal to get local fresh meals that are good for you, that heal you.“

“My husband and I got married this summer and had the pleasure of having BDP cater our wedding at Harold Washington Library. As most people know, planning a wedding can be stressful :). I don't think I would have survived without the help of Jasmine, Chelsey and the wonderful BDP team throughout the process. BDP goes above and beyond expectations for a wedding caterer. Their attention to the details and dedication to quality is what sets them apart from others. There is no one like them in the biz.
From our thoughtful tasting that felt like a private dinner, to our final walk through, I will never run out of good things to say about BDP. I recommend them to every couple I know getting married. The food is DELICIOUS. We had guests coming up to us left and right saying “Who catered your wedding? The food tastes like we’re eating at a nice restaurant, nowhere near ‘typical’ wedding food we usually have!”

Two Sisters is woman- and black-owned and more than that, Chef Veah is a dream to work with! Not only putting together a delicious menu which had all my guests asking who the caterer was, but also helping make the set up just right alongside me. Veah enhanced our event in many ways and I am looking forward to working with them again! (p.s. no matter what you do, get the pound cake - trust me! “It’s about time Chicago gets solid West African cuisine. Dozzy didn’t disappoint. Had the Designer Jollof Rice Bowl and it was delicious. I combined it with a couple orders of the shrimp suya sticks which put it over the top. Now, I loved the jollof, but that’s to be expected. What wasn’t expected was the shrimp. I can honestly say it was some of the best I’ve ever had. The herbs were perfect and it was grilled just the way I like it. I’ve known Dozzy for a long time and I’m so happy he’s sharing his gift to the world. Y’all get some.“

“I was craving something small for lunch, so I thought of getting empanadas. Unsure where to go, I came across this place on Google. I drove over and went inside, where a kind man greeted me. I ordered two chicken empanadas and noticed they also sold alfajores, so I got one of those too. My coworkers were impressed when they saw me eating, especially since the empanadas came with chimichurri sauce. They were so good! Def recommend.“

“From the moment we stepped into this incredible Arab restaurant, we were welcomed with the kind of warmth and hospitality that made us feel like family. The atmosphere was inviting and beautifully decorated, but it was the service—and especially the owner—that truly made this experience unforgettable. The food was absolutely phenomenal. What truly set this restaurant apart, though, was the hospitality. The owner personally came over to greet us and made sure my entire family was comfortable and well taken care of. It’s rare to find someone who treats guests with such heartfelt attention. This was a memorable experience. I can’t recommend this place enough if you’re looking for not just incredible food, but also to be treated with the kind of warmth and generosity that leaves a lasting impression. “We stumbled upon Empanada Mama before going out on Chicago Ave on a random Friday in November. And I’m so glad we did. The food was fantastic and the service was amazing. We got the corn dip with homemade plantain chips to start, the dip comes out hot and fresh in a skillet and you will want to eat it with your fork when you’re done. Don’t be embarrassed, I did it too.
For dinner I had the pick 2 entree with empanadas and tostones. It was awesome—the empanadas had a wonderful texture on the outside and the meat was flavorful and delicious. The tostones were crispy and very tasty. The unsung heroes of the meal were the arroz con gandules and the chimichurri sauce. Both were highlights of my experience alongside the entree.
I also have to take a moment and recommend the cocktails—if you love a Tajin-rimmed drink you’ve got to try the guava margarita, you will have no regrets I promise.
Huge shoutout to the waitstaff for being so so accommodating and attentive to our group of four’s needs. We all agreed we will be back again!“

“I FOUND THIS PLACE AFTER BEING LET DOWN BY THE SLICE OF PIZZA I GOT FROM ANOTHER PLACE NOT TOO FAR FROM HERE. AFTER A QUICK GOOGLE I WAS LEAD TO THE BRIGHT PINK BUILDING THAT HAD SO MANY GOOD REVIEWS. WHEN I ARRIVED I SAW THAT THEY HAD SLICES AVAILABLE BUT THEY WERE SOLD OUT OF CHEESE AT THE TIME, SO I DECIDED TO JUST ORDER A SMALL CHEESE THIN CRUST SINCE I WAS ASSURED IT WOULD ONLY BE ABOUT 10 MINUTES. THE GUYS HERE WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND MADE THE 10 MINUTE WAIT GO BY WITH EASE. BEFORE I KNEW IT I WAS BEING TOLD THAT MY PIZZA WAS READY. I HAD TO TAKE A LOOK AT THE PIZZA BEFORE I LEFT OUT AND IT WAS A CLASSIC LOOKING THING OF BEAUTY. I HAD TO TRY A SLICE BEFORE CLOSING THE BOX BACK AND MY TASTE BUDS WERE GREETED WITH PIPING HOT DELICIOUSNESS. THE QUALITY OF THE SAUCE WAS VERY GOOD AND IT HAD THAT TRADITIONAL CLASSIC TASTE THAT YOU LOOK FOR IN A GREAT PIZZA. THE CRUST MAINTAINED ITS CRISP INTEGRITY, EVEN THOUGH I ASKED FOR A LITTLE EXTRA SAUCE ON IT. THE MELTY PULL ON THAT CHEESE WAS PERFECT FOR ME AS WELL. I ONLY ADDED CRUSH RED PEPPERS TO IT BECAUSE I LIKE A LITTLE KICK WITH MINE AND THAT MADE IT PREFECT FOR ME. ALL IN ALL, I'M SO GLAD I FOUND THIS PLACE AND ANY TIME I'M IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD I'LL BE STOPPING BY TO GET ONE OF MY FAVORITE FOODS FROM YOU GUYS. “We ordered dishes for Thanksgiving and they were nothing short of amazing! I was delighted to serve my guests the Msakhan. baked spinach pies and fried cheese pies as appetizers. For the main course Shaima prepared a delicious turkey with mashed potatoes and mixed grill, which was an absolute delight! The desserts were also incredible, with just the right amount of sweetness. Shaima is an extremely talented gourmet cook and I would highly recommend using Alrayes catering for your next event!

“We have been lucky to attend this hall on multiple occasions from a production company standpoint. The hall is not the best for sound reinforcement as you will need a separate rig pointed to where the main entrance is to ensure you will have even coverage for all patrons. However, it is a minor detail that with the right professional shouldn't be a problem. The catering was very good and the space looked very nice. Would recommend to anyone in the area looking for a nice event space.“
