“My friend and I went to Kain Tayo (Let's Eat!) today for lunch. What a wonderful place filled with warm people in a pretty setting. The restaurant is easy to find right on the main street, W Broadway. There is street parking. The menu was impressive with lots of interesting meals to try. We had a hard time deciding among so many choices. I ordered the Crispy Kare-Kare with pork belly and veggies in a mild sauce. My friend ordered the Sisig which is chicken and pork flavored hot but she requested mild. The owner/chef was glad to modify the recipe. WE really liked the Calamansi drink - it was lemony with a lime ending. Yum! Three generations were working today including a 16 year old. Everyone was so nice and helpful. We loved both dishes and started choosing what we will try the next time. There is a little collection or items for sale in one corner. I bought rice sticks and my friend bought rice flour and a tshirt for her grandson. It was a lovely visit. We assured them that we will be back.“
“I think we've eaten here 4 or 5 times. The last couple of times were lunch and we got the onion rings. They are very good. It doesn't say on the menu but you can get a half order. I ordered fried chicken. Came with soup or salad ( I chose chili) potato (baked) and vegetables (corn). My wife ordered the Florida grouper special and with potato soup, baked potato and green beans. By the time we had finished the onion rings and soup we were stuffed and ended up taking most home. The soups were good (not great) and weren't hot enough. The chicken is good I've had it twice now). Baked potatoes are cooked properly and vegetables are seasoned well. We've had steaks when we've eaten there at night and they were good. Our server was very attentive and helpful, I think all have been. The interior is nice, but I think it has a bit of a musty smell when we walked in. We drive about an hour to eat there today, so I'd obviously recommend it.“
“This is a somewhat hidden place in Highland. Unless you're a local you've probably never heard about it and how to get there. It's nearly disguised as a house since it's on a residential street which borders the business district. But either way, it's a great hidden gem. It's a great senior citizen's place, as they are open during certain hours. And in 2024, they will only accept cash - not that it's a bad thing. They do have a great menu, and some may say the food is not top quality. But the prices are very reasonable, whether you're coming here for breakfast and lunch. Service is great as well. Lots of Highland history on display too.“
“Visiting from out of town and wanted a place to watch the Nuggets game. We stopped in and Dani(sp?) immediately put it on for us! He was super friendly and really went above and beyond for our group. The customer service was great and our appetizers were delicious! Highly recommend and will definitely go back next time we are in town.“
“This establishment was recommended to us and couldn't be more pleased. Very friendly, welcoming 3rd generation family owned restaurant. Best onion rings - I usually stay away from rings as I find them too greasy and tasteless. These were the opposite. Homemade, crispy, sweet onions balanced with lightly salted crust - Perfect!“
“Just excellent food and fairly priced too! The staff was attentive and the vibe was laid back. If you are looking for a great place to fade into the woodwork, enjoy a burger and have a drink then Broadway is for you. Definitely will be back!“
“I finally tried the new sub/coffee/ice cream shop and was not disappointed!Because I’m vegetarian and no vegetarian options were available, I had to ask them kindly to make me a vegetarian sandwich. I got some banter for it which is expected yet never makes one feel welcomed. I also ordered an iced pumpkin spice latte and was good! I have yet to try their ice cream which will definitely be next! Decently priced food for a new food stop!Just note, the staff is limited so don’t expect this to be a quick stop especially around noon! Additionally, inside there’s not a lot of room to wait for your food by the register and food counter. The drive thru is also limited to about 2-4 vehicles at a time. Parking is also fairly limited so again, be mindful of the time of day you come! I recommend giving them a try!“
“Great place to grab lunch. Very family friendly and large outdoor dining area. Service was great, food was great and was beer cold. Would highly recommend.Kid-friendliness: Mid day dining and several families there enjoying the afternoon. The kids were great and everyone very friendly.“
“Great country diner/restaurant. Found our way to the lucky Rooster after visiting family. Hadn't been there in a while. The food was great. My wife chose a craft pizza, pictured within. I had the awesome spaghetti, great on a cold evening. The dining room was full but the waitress was efficient in taking care of us. Great evening with family and The Rooster helped make it happen. Cheers“
“I think they stole my Grandma! This place is outstanding and as close to home cooking you can get. This was my first visit and I plan to go back. The white gravy was outstanding and complimented the country fried steak. The fries were perfectly cooked and the coleslaw was very tasty. I was also able to try my girlfriend's French dip that she was unable to finish. It, too, was fantastic even a day later!I beg, beg, beg for you to add fried okra.See you next time.“
“Wow what an amazing place to have dinner this is my second evening there yesterday Leo was our server and he was awesome that young man made us feel like we were just family stopping by for dinner, he's a very polite and respectful young man his parents should be proud of him, I and my wife both liked him instantly. Great job Leo.And tonight Monica was our server and she as well was awesome very friendly and told us of all the things happening in this little town for new years ,very helpful thank you. And also Leo stopped by our table to say hello tonight.I highly recommend this place to eat the food is absolutely delicious my hat goes off to the cook,I will definitely be coming back.“
“We were passing thru from Tennessee to Illinois and so glad we found 'Rons Lounge' for lunch & cocktails. Melissa was such a great bartender and Dennis cooked truly delicious smashburgers ...Dennis and Melissa are a great team! A great experience! We will 100% be back!“
“Ron & I have enjoyed Michael's for decades ! It's a fantastic place to dine. Excellent service and wonderfully delicious food! Their steaks are sizzling great , the Michael's Salad is extremely delicious and their soups & sides are incredible ! They have catered many events for us in their banquet or side rooms and their service and accommodations have been exceptional ! We encourage you to try their outstanding food and the relaxing beautiful vibe of the place.“
“*Get the dessert* Placed a to go order and the female that helped me was incredibly nice. Food was great and I had no complaints from my crew. I think everyone is sleeping on how good their desserts are. We ordered the butter pecan cake and heath cheesecake and both were so good. Fun little small town “
“The place was clean, waitress was extremely nice and made sure we were doing alright the whole time we were there. Food was excellent. Definitely will be going back if we are back in the area.Parking: It's in a truck stop, so Semi friendly and plenty of parking.Wheelchair accessibility: Whole sidewalk is wheelchair accessible“
“This was our 1st visit on January 26th .The food was very good. There was a small space heater plugged in close to me .I was so warm my entire dinner ,it was wonderful! The service was great. And it was in the cutest town.We will definitely be back!“
“Nice atmosphere inside, but we frequently order to go. Homemade soups and flatbreads are good. Great prime rib and pork steak. Gorgonzola pasta with steak is very good. Brussel sprouts order as a side are bacon wrapped (one of our favorites). We tried brunch for the first time recently and while the quantity was great for the price we were a little let down by the quality (biscuits and French toast could be better in taste) and the advertised $3 mimosas with flavoring are more like dry champagne with flavoring (no orange juice like a mimosa) so that was bit disappointing. Overall a reliable restaurant with a nice variety on the menu.“
“A locally home-grown joint that you won't find anywhere else. Love the penguin out front. We stopped in at lunch time and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Menu is very large so right away I knew that there must be a lot of frozen and pre-made foods but took a chance and was not disappointed. Wanting something light, we went for soup and chili, some fried pickles and soft drinks. They admitted the chili wasn't home-made but it was still very tasty as was the chicken noodle soup. Pickles were OK - maybe a little over-cooked. Lastly, the place is very neat and tidy! I'd definitely stop again next time I'm in the area.“
