“The food and staff at 54th St in Glen Carbon are great but I REALLY HATE how after the remodel they can’t open the patio doors. What is the point of even saying you have a patio when it is all closed up.“

I have been here a few times now and each time I come I love the community family feel that is still fun and lively, no shortage of a good time. “I won’t say I don’t recommend as we’ve been there a couple times before and had a great experience! Last night neither of us enjoyed what we ordered, our fault, we both went against what we were going to originally order….we ate it, it’s fine, you live and learn. Our waitress is what left a bad taste. It’s like she instantly had something in her head about us or we weren’t one of her regulars that she had to cater to as she was sitting, laughing and chatting with those around us. Not friendly, short answers and would set our drinks down after being told thank you and just walk away. The only time there was even a hint of friendliness is when it came time to pay.“

“If you like local dive bars and pizza this is the place to go. Their pizza is the bomb ? The staff is friendly and most of the regulars are too. Lol. They also have an AMI jukebox, an ATM machine, several TV screens to watch sports games, and video gambling machines. They have a back patio with seating for smokers and they usually have heat out back when they remember to refill the propane tanks. It’s usually just one bartender waiting on everyone and making the pizzas in their pizza oven. Drink a cold one and enjoy the atmosphere while you wait. ??“

“Came in for lunch and was seated right away. Everything looked clean waitresses were right there to take drink orders and brought us menus. We ordered the 2 for 25. 1 appetizer and two entrees. Food was delicious,hot and out very fast. Service was excellent,would definitely eat here again“

“We live 2 hours north and were in town for a Band Competition, we stopped in to eat. Our server Jordan was fabulous. With it being our first time there the manager sent us some free deviled eggs to sample! Highly recommend the deviled eggs, so tasty! They were a little busy with several parties and took a little longer to get our food but our server was attentive and apologetic for the wait. We were not mad or upset about the wait, totally understand when it’s busy. The manager gave us a free dessert for the wait. The customer service is top notch and they seem to care about the customers. And a plus that the food is delicious!!!! Highly recommend!! We will def be back!“

“Absolutely delicious food. The queso and the chili con queso are absolutely worth ordering. Soooo good!
We've tried the chili, French onion soup, Italian beef sandwich, Italian sandwich, CBR flatbread, and the spaghetti; not a single item has disappointed in the slightest.
Also the staff are so nice. Love coming in on Thursday afternoons for lunch.

“We hadn’t been at Horseshoe for a number of years, but lately it seems to be one of our go to restaurants. Have only had to take back my food once (a rarity for me). The food, wait staff and jukebox is what brings us back. Was there today with my son who’s disabled. He hates getting out of the house, but loves the jukebox. (He likes singing to his favorite song (The Star Spangled Banner). The staff is attentive and a special shout out to Kim. We were celebrating a special weekend for me. Realizing that the chicken strips means chicken “nuggets” to him, made my day. (It’s the little things.)“

Honestly, it was just a burger, but the crinkle fries were hot and crisp and salty, and the cheese curds were zesty and fresh. And I got a mini flavor of the day frozen custard, b/c apparently frozen custard is a big deal up here, and when in Rome… anyway it was scrumptious and I wanted to lick the cup clean.

Best part of this place was friendliness of staff. After being in Wisconsin and Chicago, it was nice to finally be in an area where people are nice and actually respond to you when you say something! I stopped by the store and the manager saw what I was seeing and worked with me to get my order processed (which was not easily resolved). He was very patient and helped get my order processed. “Great food. Clearly, this is where the locals go! Wonderful Liver and sauteed Onions. The liver was soft, not grisly. Perfectly seasoned with crispy edges. My family doesn't eat Liver, so this will be my spot next time I need a fix. My complements to the chef, it was perfectly executed“
