Mongolian beef very tasty, but a bit too soft for me ( I prefer a bit of crisp to this dish). Shrimp fried rice was plentiful and very good. I didn't care for the crab rangoon (sweet) or scallion pancake ( chewy)...but I would definitely come back again and get LOTS of eggrolls!“

Portions were decent and containers were full and packed well with oranges and broccoli to add color. We ordered mostly mild and one medium spice level. Mild was indeed mild and just really lacked flavor… it was ok, just not great. I’d definitely try it again with more spice to see if it alters the flavors.“

I had the 3 cup chicken, which was out of this world amazing. I highly recommend giving this place a try of you are on the fence. You will not be disappointed.“

“Lao Sichuan has the most authentic and consistently amazing Chinese food to be found anywhere in the U.S. Having spent some time living in China while I was in undergrad, there are certain flavors that I crave, which your run of the mill American style Chinese restaurant will not have. My wife and I live in St Charles and make the 1 hour 20 minute round trip at least once a week to get our fix. The food is that good. The owner is seemingly always there, and obviously genuinely cares about ensuring quality in what is served every time. Our favorites are Chengdu Style King Pao Chicken, Ma Po Tofu, Beef in Pure Cumin Powder, Toothpicks Lamb, and the Xiao Long Bao. I cannot for the life of me fathom how this restaurant does not have a higher rating. It is the best. Try it. You won't regret it.“

“Quite honestly one of the most pleasant experiences I've had dining in. The dining room is very calm and nice, it's exactly as pictured in the reviews and they had great 90s grunge music playing too, that and the lucky cat statue were my favorite parts :). Aside from my favorite kind of atmosphere the people were so polite and kind. The service was amazing, when I let them know my allergies they made it very easy and simple. They brought out the food fairly fast too with really good sauces and everything was hot and delicious. I highly recommend the bbq pork fried rice and the eggroll. “This place is located at a Chinese supermarket food court yet they offer great Taiwan food. I brought my Taiwanese friend here once, now she is willing to drive back just to have meal here. We ordered the stinky tofu, tofu is very flavorful. The veggie pot is so delicious that I saw from someone else sitting there and I could not help but to ask the name of the dish.“

“My son graduated college and we wanted to get takeout on a very cold night, dinner in a restaurant to follow. We had not gone to China Star for a very long time, but have been told the new owners have turned it around and they were right. We tried hot & sour soup, fried rice, egg rolls, shrimp with lobster sauce, sweet & sour chicken, and egg foo young. We realized immediately that we ordered way too much, but it was so good, so it was fine. Their food was excellent and the portions were big, so plan accordingly. “DELICIOUS!! fabulous shumai, pork shrimp chive dumpling, BBQ pork rice crepe, BBQ pork bun, and soup dumplings. We will be back! Better than ming hin for sure! Bit pricey for food court dimsum, but top notch quality and steamed to order so incredibly fresh tasting. YUM!“

We always order take out and the food has great flavor and cooked well. We always order the fried rices and lo mien which any of the versions are good. General Tsao and Sesame Chicken.“

“This place has some of the best Chinese food I have found near Hanover park/streamwood/Bartlett. Mongolian Beef is more traditional (spicy and not sweet, packed with beef, white and green onions and includes the crunchy white noodles). The fried rice with shrimp came with good size shrimp. The crab Rangoon is also packed with filling and you can tell they change their oil frequently. We also enjoyed their beef lo mein and sesame chicken. Their food is not salty, but if you like that add a little salt yourself to bring out a tad more flavor. Don’t plan on dining in, it’s not the greatest atmosphere. It is clean but clearly meant for carry out first.“

“The incense in the restaurant is very nice. I ordered shrimp egg roll (crispy) and potstickers. I can tell the egg rolls are homemade, and you'd be surprised how.manu places don't make them from scratch. The pot stickers are delicious and homemade as well. I was a tiny bit unhappy that my order wasn't ready when I got there, but the online ordering platform scheduled it for their exact opening time, so I'm going to give them a pass on that. Hope to try other things sometime.“
