“Tried the express menu last weekend for the first time and was NOT disappointed. Vegan birria tacos (made with perfectly seasoned mushrooms) were excellent, though I have to admit the consomé wasn't, unfortunately. But the vegan soul plate was all good. The fried hearts of palm were tasty and crunchy, the mac and cheese was creamy and not too heavy, the sweet potatoes were Thanksgiving-y, and the greens did their job. And the hibiscus and ginger tea I ordered was delicious! I just wish it was less than a 40-minute drive for me, but what can you do?“

We received so many compliments from guests saying it was the best food they have ever had at a wedding. Meghann was extremely helpful & accommodating during the planning process. Anything I needed she made sure it was taken care of. Our day of coordinator Luis was awesome as well as all of the staff there. Everyone was super friendly and always on top of everything. Immediately after the ceremony was over we had a drink in hand and apps in our bridal suite for us. We were blown away by the food and everything from start to finish. We hope to have an event in the future to use them and have their delicious food again!“

We were there for a huge social club banquet, and the place was absolutely buzzing. The room was packed, the energy was high, the bartenders were clearly having a great time behind the bar, and the Shirley Temples were flowing like someone accidentally leaned on the soda gun for three straight hours.

Now before I even get into our night, I need to acknowledge another reviewer who once said this place is “2 Legit 2 Quit.”

After spending the evening there, I can confirm that statement is scientifically accurate. Atmosphere? Legit. Staff? Legit. Food? Legit. Hallways? Surprisingly legit. Carpets? Still legit. Bathrooms? Also holding strong in the legit department. Whoever wrote that review clearly did a full building inspection tour, and honestly I respect the thoroughness.

But the real MVP of the night was Kevin John, our table server.

Kevin John might be the quietest hardest-working server in the Midwest. No big announcements, no dramatic entrances — just pure efficiency. The man worked like a hospitality ninja.

Every time we looked down, more food plates had magically appeared on the table. No one asked. No one waved him down. Kevin John had already taken care of it. Plates cleared, new plates delivered, everything running like a perfectly organized banquet machine.

At one point we all realized something incredible: we had never once needed to ask for anything all night. Kevin John had already handled it before the thought even finished forming in our heads.

The man wasn’t just serving the table — he was quietly running a one-man food distribution operation while making it look effortless.

Between the fun crowd, the lively bartenders, the endless Shirley Temples, the legit carpets apparently approved by previous reviewers, and Kevin John making sure our table stayed well fed all night long, the entire event was fantastic.

If you’re hosting a banquet, party, or celebration, The Mayfield absolutely knows how to do it right.

And if you’re lucky enough to have Kevin John working your table, just sit back and enjoy the night — because that guy is making sure everything runs perfectly without ever needing the spotlight.

From the very beginning, Amanda was very helpful in answering our questions, being responsive, and working with us to create a menu that we wanted. We were astonished by how much food was provided at our tasting, all super yummy, and so we eagerly booked them for our reception. We opted for family style so each guest could enjoy all the dishes, and boy are we glad we did! We had DOZENS of guests come up to us that night, and since, RAVING about every dish. Everything being so delicious and cooked perfectly was even more impressive when you consider they served over 100 people. From the start, Liz stood out as incredibly receptive and accommodating. This continued throughout the process and culminated in their incredible service on our big day. We truly could not have pulled off our wedding day without her expertise and dedicated work ethic— even more so when we pushed up our wedding by almost a year. Thanks to Liz and her incredible staff, we had the day we had always imagined, put together in two months. We were even able to salvage our outdoor ceremony after an unseasonable cold snap, thanks to an eleventh hour heater acquisition.
