“Was craving some Pho and stopped by here. We got the egg rolls to start and they were thin, had a nice crunch but a mild flavor. The sweet sauce that came with it helped give it that boost they needed. The Pho was the star of the show. A huge bowl of fresh pho with loads of toppings on the side. The broth was rich in flavor, with a generous portion of thinly sliced meat. It was a cold day I got this and it hit just the spot. The toppings like basil, jalapeño and bean sprouts were fresh and crunchy. The service was quick and the price was fair for the portion. The vibe is pretty chill here, it’s a more casual sit down.“

“We stumbled up this gem in Northbrook! Honey grilled pork with jalapeño was amazing! Viet iced coffee also Fantastic!!
Reilly, the really friendly guy who took our order at the counter, was fabulous! He knew every detail about the menu, even explaining the way combination of ingredients worked together and the flavor profiles. He gave the perfect recommendations! We will definitely be back again very soon!!“

“Absolutely wonderful, some of the best and affordable Vietnamese food in Chicago! Service was super friendly, a person in our group has an allergy to green onion. The staff went out of their way to redo the food and even come out to apologize! No one even does that?! The food had amazing flavors and while I wish the Bun Cha Ha Noi was served in a bowl with the fish sauce broth, the flavors were excellent. Atmosphere, feels like I’m in Vietnam with my chill RnB playlist (Malcom Todd, Daniel Caeser, Bruno Mars), doesn’t get much better than that. Could not recommend this place enough! The 5pm opening time is not to be mistaken! Also, if you come order the Bo Ne, Bo La Lot, or the Pho Seafood. Truly a wonder deep in the heart of the Chicago.“

“This is such a hearty broth, so many warm spices. It was the spot I just went to because it’s open late, but upon trying other Pho spots this stayed at the top. The meat is always such high quality. And the wait staff is are very warm and accommodating.“

“Hoanh Long in North Park is straight fire. Hit it up for lunch – kicked things off with two shrimp spring rolls, then a massive beef pho and spicy lemongrass stir-fry with tofu. Broth legit rich, stir‑fry packed with flavor, and the portions were huge—perfect Chicago-style appetite. Chill café feels, service super friendly, and parking’s doable before 7pm. Can’t wait to go back!“

“Hands down the best viet food in Chicago. From presentation, flavors, and fresh herbs. They easily set the standards for what viet food should be and no place on Arglye can compare.“

“🎊🏮⛩️ Happy Lunar New Year!
Chúc mừng năm mới! 🐎🧧🥠
This my first time dining at King Pho. My friends have been here before and recommended for us to meet up here.
We ordered Phở Tái, Bún Tôm Nướng, Spring Rolls and Crab Rangoon. It was plenty for 3 people and took some home. They also have a huge menu with Smoothies and Bubble Tea. I looking forward to trying the teas and other menu items“

“The 3 different Banh Mi’s I’ve had here were ok. Bread was the best part. Everything was fresh but protein lacked flavor. The crab rangoon’s were the best thing I’ve ordered from here. Crunchy with a lot of filling. Fried rice was just ok. Staff was upbeat and friendly. I’d give it a 7 out of 10.“
“I searched far and wide for fresh soy milk (unsweetened and sweetened) and tofu & this shop has that + pandan soy milk, tofu pudding, lemongrass fried tofu, & more. If you’re in argyle definitely worth checking out. Apple Pay & card accepted, though it’s good to pay in cash if you can. Great prices (2.75 cash for some lemon grass fried tofu)“

“A perfect place to grab to go if you're craving for some comfort Vietnamese food! I just wish that this place was an option for me when I was in grad school in the Chicago area many years ago. The menu varies on a daily basis, so you don't grow tired eating the same food everyday. Besides the to go options, you can also dine in for some pho (or other noodle soup options).
I no longer live in Chicago, but was in town to visit a sibling toward the end of October. I'm glad I learned of this place through social media. The owner is very down to earth and is very friendly to talk to. I do want to emphasize that the kitchen is clean and modern. Location is perfect - still within the Argyle area but away from the main traffic so should be easier to find parking. I really do hope college students find this place to be a staple during their college years.
I will definitely pay a visit again when I'm back in Chicago.“

“One of my go-to’s in the city. The bo ba lot sausages are delicious whether in a banh mi or spring roll. I always recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the argyle area or wanting a relatively inexpensive lunch/dinner option for delivery.“

“Our 1st time there we got the chef special, which is sort of like a sampler plate. Almost everything was delicious. The pho was out of this world. The meat was delicious. The shrimp tofu thing was delicious period. The sausage was so interesting and different and yummy. The sweet sauce was yummy and out of this world. I can't wait to go back and try other things. My partner had the shrimp with vermicelli, and he loved it. The jasmine tea is great, but I'll bring splenda next time. I don't know the name of the dishes but I just read the English. I Highly recommend this small size restaurant.“

“I come here often for Vietnamese iced coffee and Thai iced tea - they make the best of both of these that I’ve had in the city.
The curry chicken banh mi is very good. The lemongrass chicken though was very dry and could use something to make the bites go down easier, but that’s my one and only complaint about anything from here“

“Everything was sooo good! The squid 🦑 cucumber 🥒 salad was delightful! Must try!
We ordered the beef pho special which was $15.95. We have eaten at many pho restaurants in and out of the city, and I mean many! This pho is similar to most places, it's not the best but it's also not the worst. Despite the reviews saying it isn't flavorful, I think the pho was good for the value and I recommend trying.
We also ordered their special combo rice I think it's #505 on the menu for $18.45, such a great value, so much food! It comes with a grilled pork chop, lemongrass citrusy dipping fish sauce, Chinese sausage, an egg quiche, a fried egg, white rice, a little mini tomato lettuce daikon radish salad, and a mini miso soup!!!! Everything was so flavorful! The pork chop was grilled and had such a really nice flavor. The miso soup had a lot of seaweed in it and it tasted rich and warm! I really enjoyed this dish, highly recommend.
We tried their ice soda with lemon which was $4.50 the server told us that they actually make this in-house themselves it's a sparkling lime drink and it tasted like a bubbly lemonade which I really enjoyed, it wasn't too sweet and was very light and refreshing! Highly recommend, especially for the spring and summer!
We also ordered the shrimp and pork spring rolls for $5.75. They are huge, well stuffed, and tasty, definitely recommend.
And we also tried their squid cucumber salad which was $8.95. It comes with squid and thinly sliced cucumber and it has such a great tasting marinade. It tasted a little bit like wasabi so it had a little bit of a kick to it but not overwhelming, you could taste a little bit of the soy sauce but it wasn't too salty, and it had such a nice flavor. It was very unique tasting and I really enjoyed it. The squid had a nice texture and it wasn't rubbery or overly chewy. The cucumber paired very nicely with it giving it a nice fresh taste. It comes served cold FYI. If you're an adventurous eater like I am and want to try something new I recommend trying this dish!
Overall, the customer service was great we were seated immediately and we were served our food quickly as well. The server was nice and answered my questions regarding the menu items. The food was also plated very beautifully and aesthetically. The quality of the food was great no complaints.
We ordered two entrees, two apps, and a drink. What a great value for $60! We left feeling satisfied and despite the low ratings, I'm glad we gave this place a chance. We drove by here one time a while back and never dined in bc we read the negative reviews but today we passed by and we decided to try them and Im glad we did, I would definitely come back!
In terms of the atmosphere, the only feedback I have for management is that the restaurant was freezing cold. When we walked in it was like a freezer I wish they would have turned on the heat and made it more comfortable for their customers sitting in and dining in. I had to wear my jacket because it was just too cold. Also the music wasn't it, you're playing some kind of middle eastern Indian type music which I thought was odd given that it's a Vietnamese restaurant. They need to change the music to match the Asian vibe and make it more inviting. For these reasons, I had to give it three stars for the atmosphere. But for the food and customer service five stars!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
They have a parking lot, plenty of spaces available and an outdoor patio which is nice for warmer weather.“

“We went for my girlfriend’s bday dinner, was a crowd pleasure with everyone able to get something they liked. LGBTQ+ Friendly service and accommodations for up to 10! Groups over 5 pay a 20% service fee but that’s pretty typical. Not sure the exact per person cost breakdown as some of us ordered 2 apps and fancy drinks but if you only get an entree and water it’s definitely less than 20$ plus tip 🥰“

“I picked up an order, I got home and noticed there was an item missing, and when I called, the manager (owner?) spoke to me and offered to drive it to my home after they closed up shop. I tried to tip the man who delivered it but he refused. He was very kind and thanked me for my business. Arguably the best customer service I’ve ever experienced at a restaurant.“

“The Banh Mi sandwich was honestly one of the best ones I've ever had. The lemongrass chicken was juicy and flavorful. The bread was exactly how it should be (crunchy outside, soft and fresh inside). All the veggies (carrots, daikon, cilantro, cucumbers) were fresh. The sauce was a perfect amount which brought everything together beautifully.“
