“Celebrated a friends birthday there last night and had an amazing dinner! The entrée of braised short ribs melted in my mouth and banoffee pie could not be beat for dessert!“

“The food was great! I have to eat gluten free and it's still not as common as you'd think for restaurants to carry GF buns, but this place did! And it didn't crumble to pieces like most of them do lol. Plus, the service was fantastic. Joel was so attentive and genuine and made sure we had everything we needed. “My friends and I ate breakfast there the other day. They had remodeled the place. It was brighter& cheery. The only thing I would recommend is bring in some round tables for groups of 6. That makes it Easier for talking & socializing while you eat. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. Our meals came quick & hot. The store area has many nice things but set up too crowded to actually look well to the point you might miss something you would actually buy. I would actually redo the set up of - how you display the products in the store area to be less congested. It’s just too overwhelming to see it all well in its current set up.“

“On this day that my family and I went, everything was great except one thing. It was extremely warm inside! Maybe I should say hot in there. The whole restaurant was super warm! It felt like a sauna! It was very uncomfortable to eat in there. Other customers mentioned it to the employees also. I know it's a bit cold outside but it almost made me want to go eat outside in the car.. we had to hurry up and eat to leave lol“

From the hostess to the waitress, everyone was friendly. We ordered steak and potato, and both were absolutely delicious. The steak was cooked to our liking, and the baked potato was big and good. What caught our eye was the old Mason Jars used for beverages, large and classic. It was definitely an enjoyable experience.“

“Had never eaten here before attending a memorial lunch for a family member yesterday.Wonderful buffet,many choices-we had perch,beef and roasted chicken.Fresh veggies,good salad,roasted redskins,excellent rolls and very good ice cream for dessert.Table service was excellent,our waitress was friendly and professional,and we did not feel rushed(you know how people linger to chat at gatherings like this) .I highly recommend this venue and will be trying their restaurant again.Also had very clean bathrooms! We came on a weekday for a late lunch. But the ambiance was so blah. Employees were having sidebar conversations, diners were speaking loudly and inappropriately. Meanwhile, others were on cell phones having conversations, and others were playing videos on phones without earbuds. There was just a lot going on. I'll definitely do takeout moving forward, but won't dine in.“

Then the young lady with the pretty braids was our server and she was professional and pleasant as well. “Hostess was RUDE and very UNORGANIZED!

If I didn't like the food so much, I would have walked right out.

I walked into the Longhorn restaurant in Merriville, IN, and the hostess (an older woman, wearing a black & green blouse
on 11/9/24 at approximately 1 pm in the afternoon) was as RUDE as a person could be.

The restaurant was very busy and she seemed to be disturbed by this. She kept trying to detour people by telling them that wait times were longer than they actually were. When she noticed I wasn't going to leave, she told me and my guest to just have a seat. She didn't take my name down, so I asked if she was going to. So, at this point, she asked for my name but did not type or write anything down.
I didn't push the issue because it was clear she was having a bad day.
However, I did monitor the order in which people were arriving because I noticed that this hostess was not.

When a table opened up, she would call people out of order and customers had to tell her who was next.

My goodness!

Once we got past this debacle, things ran much more smoothly in terms of the server and cooks.

Parking: I noticed that there were many take out spots in front of the restaurant that were not utilized. This area, in my opinion, should be dedicated to seniors and disabled persons.

The restaurant may not realize this, but there are many disabled people that come to eat there, so it only makes sense. Designating just four or five spots on the side of the restaurant away from the entrance is not very accommodating to senior citizens or disabled persons.“
