Restaurantji presents Maize's standout Mexican dining destinations.
“While there is a TB just a mile from my house, where I ate daily, I instead drive 5 miles to N.MAIZE where I get friendly, fast, amazing service from the Mgr Maria Sifventes, Dallana and Colton. Understaffed yet they outperform the store on W Central that has 9 employees typically bickering and no peaceful atmosphere.“
“Casa mexicana mexican restaurant offers authentic Mexican cuisine with fresh ingredients, extremely friendly service (ask for Hector!), and a great atmosphere. Must-try dishes include their ceviche, pollo feliz, and excellent chips and salsa. Overall, a top-notch authentic dining experience that leaves you craving more. Highly recommended!“
“Fantastic place. Been going for years and always come back.Their delicious #9 Carne Asada Tacos are a must-try! Let's support and celebrate small businesses like Pollo Express that bring flavor and joy to our community.Parking: Plenty of room.“
“I recently relocated to Wichita from Southern California and didn't expect to find a gem like this! The adobada & carne asada vampiros are addicting! We're there weekly, the food, drinks & service can't be beat! Plus they have a really cute outdoor seating area, ya gotta give them a try“
“Amazing amazing this is my number one taco dealer in all of Wichita the Barbacoa is beyond amazing I mean there’s an El Rancho in here the claims they have the best barbacoa no way Los Banos text Bryce no way that was piña stick surprise for the green sauce that green sauce is beyond beyond amazing it’s so special I want the recipe to that green sauce“
“Small cozy family restaurant with excellent service and great food! If you are breakfast person looking for Mexican or American style breakfast this is the place! The standard Mexican fare are available for lunch and supper with some specialty items! Try it! You’ll like it!“
“One of the best places to get ice cream in town! They have a huge selection of homemade ice cream. I absolutely love the homemade vanilla. They also have sundaes and banana splits. Don’t forget to grab some food while you’re there too. Service is exceptional. Outdoor seating in the summer is probably my favorite thing about this place. There’s plenty of parking on the premises.“
“This is such a cute little restaurant that seems to have not kept up with the times....That is a good thing! The soda fountain looked original as well as the hutch that was next to it. If you are looking for a throwback diner that remindes you of a first date back in the day, then this is a must place to visit. I had the hot pastrami on marbled rye and my wife had the open faced seafood salad. Both were really delicious.“
“Very authentic, fresh grilled taste. Price is fair with large quantities in the portions. The chicken burrito came out leaking fresh grease and was very natural and delicious. Made for a good picnic trip to nearby park.Parking: It gets busy but there's a few grills on the parking lot so if you get around traffic there should be sufficient free parking on the west corner of the lot. The east side is full of other businesses' traffic.“
“My favorite place to eat on the Southside, hands down! Incomparable whole hearted friendliness from each staff member, making you feel accepted as part of the family with every smile and warm hello from every beautiful soul that makes up the El Mexico Family! Thank you guys for all of your hard work! You are a reminder of how well it feels being a member of this heaven on earth we are all working towards!“
“Valentines dinner. Felipes struggled tonight. We waited for drinks. We waited for napkins. We waited for just drinking water. Three people working the floor making drinks, serving food, bussing tables, bringing out more "wants"...figuring sales tickets.....it was crazy! They managed it ALL as best they could. All 3 workerbees were in a dead run the entire evening, doing their very best! Patience is a virtue. Most all the diners took it in their stride! Kev & I were happy to see the diners kindness for the servers struggles. Nice evening! We tipped big, and gave much needed verbal praise and appreciation before we left. It made their night. Minimum wage! Tips matter! Happy Valentines Day to all! Thanks Kev!!“
“My first time at Puerto Vallarta Restaurant but have had their food catered at work. Well catering food was awesome so we had to try the restaurant. Amazing food, Amazing service thanks to Maria and fun atmosphere. Highly recommend this place. I wish I would have taken a picture of my plate but I didn’t. Delicious. I got the smoothed burrito yum!!!“
“5☆ YumYummyYummyYummmmYummmmmmmm!!!!!I am a horrific picky eater but found many years ago their stuffed pepper! It is just as wonderful today as it was then maybe better!!!!You have to give it a chance!!! The pepper! The place is simple its a must go!!!!“
“they are friendly. smiley not fake smiles either! tonight friday aug fourth maybe about 1030 pm had a quebirra? and a taco... very fresh. no greasy taste. the green sauce is hot and i dont like hot. but i do! this taco truck has made me expand my likes! back in the past they gave me free food just because!“
“First time trying this place! I got ( left to right) barbacoa, Al pastor, carne asada, and carnitas. Favorites were barbacoa at #1, so rich and fatty (the good kind) and flavorful, then Al pastor, then carnitas, then carne asada (a little too over cooked for me but still delicious flavor)“
“This is my FAVORITE Rene’s restaurant! I go out of my way and drive to this restaurant at 2424 S. West St. The food is so flavorful, hot and delicious. The ground beef is seasoned. I can’t tell you how many restaurants I’ve gone to where they just fry ground beef and throw salt on it and call it seasoned. Queso is on the menu & chips are free! They even have dessert!“
“So enjoyed this little mom/pop restaurant (maybe 20 ft wide!). Two people working and the older lady/cook spoke no English, always a good sign for the food. I had four $2 street tacos, assorted meats. All tacos and 3 sauces were great. The meat had some tasty crunch from cooking on a flat top. I can now say I’ve had beef head tacos! I will definitely go back.“
“It is the second time I have eaten in a Mexican restaurant and this time at Gorditas Durango it was a special experience, excellent service, reasonable prices, pleasant atmosphere, excellent, fresh and well prepared food and above all the cleanliness and order of the living room and kitchen stood out. I am a professional chef and that is why I have such a thorough opinion... whenever I am in that area I will go because it is fantastic. HugsParking: Spacious and on the restaurant grounds.“
“They don't have the biggest menu but for the items they do have are all super good. The tacos are small but they are definitely worth it. They have a great selection of meats you can choice from. If you are in the area definitely stop in for you won't regret it.“
“Very limited menu but we came for the street tacos and weren't disappointed. Go early cause the sign says they serve until its gone and they did at 2 the Sunday we were there. The carne asada and al pastor were both well seasoned. Three different hot sauces. None are mild. Not a tex-mex place. Nobody had a pile of shredded cheese and iceberg lettuce on their food.“
“Not that they need anymore great reviews but I love this place so much I had to get it again! 2x in 1 week :) be patient as they have increased business now! 10/10 recommend everything on the menu *chefs kiss* + super friendly great service!“
“Good cheap bomb affordable drinks great way to get lunch in a busy day of construction.no bathroom not all staff speak English but they know what u needParking: No way to not get parking I pulled up in a big rig w vactron attached and plenty of space left“
“I highly recommend anything with the Al Pastor or Chile Verde. Or the Hot Dogs/Mexican style Burger. You can add additional toppings to orders for extra but the portion sizes and toppings I've received are usually enough to make me full. They only accept cash or cash app at the moment.Very kind individuals who work here if you have any food restrictions they'll do their best to work with your modifications.“
“My kids told me about this food truck I've never purchased food from a food truck so this was my first time and I was sold after the first bite they have fast service they are friendly and the foods great I've been back 3 times since my first visit the carne asada is A1 and the super nachos with chicken.“
“Went here for the first time yesterday to meet a friend after just returning from vacation in Mexico. Was so impressed, that I'm going back today and bringing my wife and friends. Food is authentic. and the service amazing. Birrieria Raymundo is legit!!!“
“I’ve been looking for a great authentic Mexican restaurant and Connie’s is it! The food is amazing and portions are generous. The wait staff nice and helpful. My friend loves to ask wait staff at any restaurant their favorite things on the menu and the suggestions we got at Connie’s did not disappoint. 10/10 would recommend.“
“Been going here for about a year now since there right around the corner from me. Definitely a little slice of true Mexican food brought to a rather uncultured town. The fact they also sell hats, snacks, blankets and more FROM MEXICO is amazing. Don't change a thing“
“Oh my,.. we definitely loved stopping in here for lunch. I had the Carne asada burrito. Which was the best burrito that I had in some time. We also shared some Carne Asada tacos that were just delicious. We also really enjoyed the salsa Verde gorditas.. we are really looking forward to returning again..“
“We loved our lunch experience at Mexico Viejo! The service was the absolute BEST! Our server was always smiling, friendly, and attentive. He helped us select what we wanted from their vast menu, and our food was delicious! I loved Enchiladas Rancheras I ordered, and my friend's beef burrito was exactly how she ordered it. The chips were so fresh that they were still warm and had grease on them. We will definitely go back again.“
“It had been a while since we have been to Chicos. We were very happy we went as the food was very good. I had the cheese enchiladas with an egg and the wife had a combination plate. Our food came out quickly and tasted great. While there are more authentic Mexican food in town and also chain Mexican restaurants, Chico’s was very good with a taste all it’s own. Service was excellent and restaurant was very clean.“
“Holy moly this place is great. 75 cent taco Tuesday is the way it's supposed to be. My 75 cent tacos blew away the chains that keep popping up thinking it's ok to charge 8 dollars for a taco. It's a taaaaacoooooo not a prime rib. No matter what you do to it a taco should never be over 3 dollars. The place was packed and 10+ people ordered ahead of me and I was in and out in less than 9 minutes. I waited in the drive thru for 41 minutes at Taco sh@p. That's a difference between night and day“
“Went with a relative for a special dinner occasion. The pricing is very fair. They give you a lot for cheap plus chips and salsa while you wait for the main dishes. Friendly staff, very clean restaurant. Recommend the Chile Relleno Burrito. I was observing lent and this was one of the tastiest options.“
“OMG! This was amazing! We got the 7 seafood soup and shrimp cocktail with ceviche. The broth for the soup was flavorful and the finish, like butter. Seafood was fresh. Best ceviche I've ever had. Cocktail sauce was excellent. They have the good soda from Mexico too! We had a hard time choosing because everything looked so good. We will definitely be back.“
“A newly found gem for my family. We were passing through town and looked for a good taco place that was priced well. We stopped here and were very impressed! The prices are great. The food isn't too greasy like many fast food joints. They have a great variety of food, the place was clean, we didn't have to wait long for our food, and there is very adequate parking. And man, their food tastes awesome! We'll be back.“
“Good little restaurant for an authentic Mexican meal. Space is tight but if you can get in at the right time then it’s worth the trip for the fresh chips and salsa alone. Menu prices are very reasonable and service was speedy once I got seated. The puffy taco meal I chose was good yet a little basic for my taste, but I will be back to check out a combination dinner of more creative menu items next time. I recommend trying El Patio for a simple and traditional Mexican meal while downtown. You can’t miss the cool matador mural on the side of the building.“
“Wichita has a huge hispanic culture so tacos were a must have. I love to check out food trucks and support the small people, so Jalisco's Taqueria was a great spot for me to stop at. 3 Lengua and 2 Carne Asada was perfect way to wrap up my day.@phidingthefam“
“My only complaint is that our waitress was not very attentive at all. But it was otherwise a good experience! The food was delicious, and came out hot and fresh. It's a small restaurant, and is very cute and cozy! Definitely recommend!“
“I recently tried a Mexican restaurant and it was like a fiesta in my mouth! The flavors were so vibrant and delicious that I wanted to do a happy dance right there in my seat. The only downside was that my burrito was so big, I had to take a siesta afterwards. But trust me, it was worth it!“
“Really Good spot and for the Low. Highly recommend! Maybe better to call for pickup because it gets packed, at least on Sundays. Wish they made handmade tortillas, but if you can make them or find them like at Rio Bravo market, hits the spot every time!“
“Tried this Mexican restaurant for the first time. It was really good. The family and I were able to sit and enjoy a nice meal together. The salsa was delicious with a little heat my son and I demolished it. Mexican food has always been my favorite and I would recommend this to anyone.“
“I got to say the food is delicious an unfortunate for me I got short with them because I was in a hurry I had to get back to work I thought it'd be fast in and out now if you have time to go and hang out for a little bit and actually sit down to enjoy a meal Sylvia's is the place to go what if you're in a hurry and you're on your lunch break and you go there and you hope for it to be fast service you might get a little frustrated like I did but really love the food the people are friendly and it's worth going back to“
“I discovered this new taco place on my way to school at Wichita State. I’ve been looking for a good Mexican taco place for a while now & I can tell you this place is very good. Quesabirrias and Menudo on the weekends as well. I love their carne asada tacos. The owners are very nice & fast service. I recommend it 100% ❤️“
“Went for lunch on 3/30/24. Clean restaurant, nice, and friendly staff. I Asada burrito with rice and beans, the burrito was good size and tasted great. The beans were a little salty and the rice was okay. My girlfriend had Barbacoa with rice and beans. The Barbacoa was very good. Tortillas were huge, thick, and tasty. We'd definitely go back again to try other dishes. Excellent food at a great price.“
“First time to Abuelos. Three of us entered right at opening and there was no hostess. We waited, and saw two wait staff walking around but no one seated us or acknowledged us. We finally decided to seat ourselves. The hostess finally appeared about a minute later and brought us menus but acted very put out that we hadn't stood there waiting for her. Our waiter was not very friendly, just did his job. So for me the service was not the greatest. However, the food was great! All three of us really enjoyed our meal. So I only took one star off for the service.“
“I love the food at Road Runner Mexican Fast Food on N Maize Rd! Their fish tacos are to die for! YUM!!! Try them, and you'll love them too! They have a vast menu of delicious food to choose from. If you're really hungry, you may want to try a burrito.“
