Consistently excellent no matter what day you visit. You can't get better Italian food in the Kansas City metro.“

“Walking into what looks from the outside to be a tiny, intimate place, the expectation was high. Dark interior is elegant and the drink and food menu seemed quite good. That is until the food arrived. While salad was very good with fresh ingredients, everything else, from spaghetti with meatballs, deviled eggs, to calamari, they were with overcooked, lacked flavor, or simply wrong. Pasta should be more al dente while meatballs should be, well, meatballs instead of weirdly shaped salty ground beef. Deviled eggs shouldn’t taste chalky (that said, it was better as a cold leftover). And calamari would’ve been a better dish as grilled, not deep fried fast food. Given its excellent service and classy ambiance, let’s hope they figure out how to enhance their food situation.“

Despite the ongoing Farmer’s Market construction in the area, this charming family-owned Italian gem truly shines. The warm, welcoming intimate dine in atmosphere and attentive service make you feel right at home. The catering was no different, she helped me plan a variety of entrees to be served buffet style for a group of 30 (mostly men) and executed it beautifully with leftovers. “My wife and I had dinner here last night, and we can't stop talking about how much we enjoyed our experience. For appetizers, we went with the meatballs and carne crudo (beef tartare), and they were excellent. For dinner, we went with the Salsiccio pizza, and we added two pastas: vodka and bolognese. The tiramisu was amongst the best we have ever had. All in all, the food was phenomenal. What made this experience even more special was the elite customer service. I can't emphasize enough how friendly and courteous the team was.“

We had fabulous service and they were very accommodating to a couple of dietary needs of our table. Tiramisu was divine. A perfect spot for a date night or just great food anytime.“

“Haven't been to OG in a few years. We've been getting the TX Roadhouse family meals for a few weeks and discovered OG has them as well.
They have a good thing in many ways, but lacking a bit as well.
Since we have onion allergies in the family, It would have been nice to be able to delelt the onions from the salad. The red onions are even harder to digest than white onion, so that may keep us from doing his again. Croutons were packed separately which was nice since we don't use those. Also we had to request plasticware which apparently is the only way to get dinner mints included.
On the positive side, they included a dozen breadsticks (TX RH includes 12 rolls) , the spatula was great to have for the lasagna and tongs for the salad! The salad was at least twice as big as TX roadhouse which was nice. They also included an entire bottle of dressing which was nice. The lasagna was over 2 lbs, I'm sure, (and they have a larger size 🤯). Flavor was good on everything.
It just seems a bit expensive compared to TX roadhouse meals. You can get BBQ or chix breast for much less $$ with a TX roadhouse meal. For $65, you can get 4 nice steaks at TX roadhouse, lasagna is just hamburger and noodles. So definitely seems a bit over priced for what you get here.“

“The food was delicious, but I really wanted to make a point to leave a review about our server. From the very beginning, Tayla was attentive and kind. She made sure to give great descriptions of the food, but the real icing on the cake was how much she went above and beyond. We brought in a cake from the bakery, and the host offered to keep it in the fridge for us. Tayla brought out the cake for us to take pictures and sing happy birthday, and then took it to the back to cut it. The cake was butterfly themed, and she cut out my mom's piece to look like a butterfly. We cannot recommend this restaurant enough, but highly recommend asking for Tayla.“

“Found Avenues through a Groupon. We bought the Shrimp Boil, Filet and Shrimp Scampi, Antipasto platter, and two cannolis. The meal portions were huge, our order could have easily fed 4 people. The shrimp boil was spicy, with a lot of shrimp, potatoes, sausage, and a whole ear of corn. The filet was flavorful, and the shrimp scampi was served similar to Alfredo, it tasted so good! The antipasto platter has lots of yummy bites, I really enjoyed the salami and artichoke hearts. The cannolis were great too! They also included a little bag of decorated mini cookies, with a ribbon and Go Royals! tag. I'm sure it was part of one of the entrees we ordered, but an unexpected but delightful little bread pudding was in our ca bag as well. Food was great, portions were large, and the staff at curbside was very nice. I do wish GPS hadn't left us about halfa block away though.“

“Friends took me out for my 91st birthday and I requested Paulo's. Been there many times for 45 years. Always order chicken Piccata. Had garlic bread which was excellent. My order came and There was about a full cup of mashed potatoes with a small chicken breast on it. About 2". Chicken was not very tender and I ate the lunch in about 5 bites. Cost $16. no veggies or salad. Gentleman came over and asked how everything was and I told him . Portion was so small. He was very nice and took my lunch price off the bill. I will be back one more time because I really always liked it there. Also had lunch at 2:30 and no one else there but 3 people at the bar. I hope there is some improvement in the portions of some memu items in the future.“

Some things that Robert did for us that I consider above and beyond:

- He was able to change the channel on the TVs when a show came on that showed my wife's phobia.

- He mixed a great drink by asking my wife a few questions about their taste when they sure what to order.

- He talked with us about one of our favorite local hobby shops.

- When he found out it was our anniversary, he gave us one of our desserts on the house!

Robert did a fantastic job at making our little night out extra fun :D If the rest of the servers are anything like him then we cannot wait to return

Of course, as usual, the food was delicious (including the new menu items we tried: mushroom ravioli and shrimp and steak buccatini), and the wait for a table was very short. The restaurant and our booth were also clean and well-maintained. :)“

“Usually great food, and we est here often. However, last week we were 100% dissatisfied! First, the entire meal was late, they had to substitute knots for garlic bread, waited forever and the calzone had literally one piece of meat about 1"x1.5" and what looked like a mozzarella stick for cheese. The meal was gross, late, over cooked and not what we ordered or paid for. So disappointed. Since it is a long drive we regularly make I doubt we will be returning. $34 meal wasted.“
