“Anytime my wife and I get a chance to have a meal in Louisville we go for Havana Rumba (we are more than two hours away). The food is great, portions are huge, service is always really good. We went a little early for dinner so there was no wait for being seated and food arrived fast.“

“It's rare that we have a date night on a weekday with two young children, but tonight was the exception. When I realized our anniversary was falling on a Wednesday, Perso was the first place that came to mind. Perso's Prix Fixe Menú is available every Sunday through Wednesday and offers a three course meal for $29. It's no secret that I'm a fine dining enthusiast; but who doesn't love a bargain? If you're looking for a nice night out without breaking the bank, this is your spot. Perso sits at the corner of Oak and Shelby in the same location as the former Square Cut Pizza. The giant windows in the front provide an abundance of natural light. The interior has a modern industrial vibe with painted exposed brick, plants, and Edison bulbs hanging on pendants. One wall with wooden slats gives a Scandinavian feel to the main dining area. It's a small-ish intimate space with a beautiful patio. For my first course, I chose Crostino Di Tonno- olive oil poached tuna, stracciatella, pickled celery, and Calabrian chili. I followed my first course with olive oil poached swordfish, corn chowder, and golden zucchini scapece. For dessert, I had the chef's choice: apple strudel with whipped cream cheese. My husband chose heirloom tomato with roasted eggplant, bagna couda, and fine herbs. For his main course, he had pork tenderloin with edamame, beef dashi, and fine herbs. We both opted for the chef's choice for dessert. I tasted each of his courses and they were every bit as delicious as my own. The edamame provided the perfect texture and his tenderloin dashi tasted gravy-esque without being overly heavy. Mostly notable, besides the insane deal for such decadence, was the fresh flavor combinations throughout. Our table had fresh rosemary as a centerpiece. The corn chowder was right up my alley. I could've licked my bowl if I wasn't trying to pretend to have a bit of class. The swordfish was tender, juicy, and not overly fishy. The tuna flatbread was the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. The mint on top of my whipped cream cheese truly set it apart. My lavender Manhattan was earthy and smoky, not just in flavor. It was literally smoking. My husband had an old-fashioned. Neither of us were disappointed. Our server, Amanda, was phenomenal. She offered recommendations. She visited our table to ensure we were satisfied the perfect number of times. Her warm demeanor was professional while also being personable. She was everything we hope for in a server. Perso's Sunday through Wednesday Prix Fixe Menú is hands-down one of the best opportunities for an affordable night out. That being said, once you get a taste of what they have to offer, you'll be sold on splurging any day of the week.“

“You can be as safe or adventurous as you want here. We had never tried sushi with beef, but it was a unanimous favorite (ditto crawfish). Other tuna/salmon plates pleased our group. Even my Moscow Mule's ginger was balanced, thank you John Taffer. Skip the gas station sushi and eat here instead. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐“

“Our 1st time to dine at this fine establishment. My partner and I had to speak to the Manager,Michael, because we have never had service and food at this excellent level before. From the wonderful hostess all the way through the end. The staff worked as a team and made sure every guest felt special and never neglected. Our server anticipated every need we had. The prices were reasonable and we will definitely return in the future. We have been to several restaurants throughout the country and this one by far was unbelievable great service.“

“Let’s start with atmosphere. It was well kept with nice decor but I wouldn’t consider it fancy. We ordered the lebnah, liver mousse, and tuna tar tar. The mousse was the clear favorite out of the 3 amongst us. The tar tar was a bit over seasoned with chili or cumin. For the main, we got chicken shawarma and lamb meguez. They were quality and well cooked, but lacking that pop for the price. Overall, I would recommend this place to friends and family for its variety and ethnic background. However, it is a bit pricey.“

“We went there today with my cousin's family for lunch, we enjoyed the lunch buffet and it had some great items like goat nihari, goat haleem, shrimp chettinad, chicken 65 and chicken dum biryani on it's buffet menu. My wife along with my cousin's family enjoyed the lunch very much, service was very prompt and restaurant chef is nice enough to step by and have a nice chat.“

“Very good place to go for a good meal. Take a jacket or sweater if you are cold nature like me, reason I was cold but I had two cups of coffee.
I will be back love the place.
Just a hint I noticed outside dining maybe consider making it screened in. The Pork Loin, Prime rib, Salmon, broccoli, smashed potatoes, baked potatoes. And our appetizer was the Mexico City Spinach Con Queso with tortilla chips.
Parking: Very good spacious parking no steps.“

“We always enjoy our experiences at Volare’. Fresh seafood dishes flown in each Friday for another one of their exquisite seafood entree’s. Large portions are in order and our favorites are the steak with bourbon glaze and salmon with a hot pepper sauce. Don’t forget to order their decadent desserts, even if you take it to go. Caring staff that make certain that your visit is flawless.“

“I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I had chicken tandoori with rice and the flavor was amazing. It was a touch spicy but the gentleman warned me before I ordered.
The only negative is they do not have ice and I love ice in my beverage.“

“If you’re looking for an authentic taste of India in a warm and inviting atmosphere, Shalimar Indian Restaurant is a must-visit! From the moment we walked in, the vibrant decor and the spicy aroma wafting through the air set the stage for an exceptional dining experience.
The menu is extensive, offering a delightful array of traditional dishes that cater to both carnivores and vegetarians alike. We started with the samosas, which were perfectly crisp on the outside with a flavorful spiced potato filling that left us eager for more. For the main course, we opted for the butter chicken and the paneer tikka masala, both of which were rich, creamy, and bursting with flavor. The naan was freshly made – fluffy and perfect for scooping up the delicious sauces.
What really stood out was the attentive service. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and offered helpful recommendations based on our taste preferences. The overall atmosphere was lively yet relaxed, making it a great spot for a casual dinner or a special occasion.
Don’t forget to try their mango lassi for a refreshing complement to your meal! Overall, Shalimar Indian Restaurant exceeded our expectations and I can’t wait to return to explore more of their offerings. Highly recommended for anyone craving a true Indian culinary experience!“

“Our tour guide Rebecca was a real pro — enthusiastic and entertaining. The kinda girl you want to enjoy a Michters cocktail with to hear about the inner workings of their whisky— which is absolutely top notch. Big thanks to her for the great tour.“

“This place is a 10/10! The atmosphere and staff were AMAZING!! We came to Louisville for the day to find my wedding dress. After I said yes to the dress we decided to try Mussel and Burger Bar! They made my day 1000x extra special, took care of my food and drinks, and even gave me a platter of desserts to try! We are coming back to Louisville for my bachelorette and we will definitely be visiting this place again! The seafood burger was also delicious!“
“Angel’s Envy is absolutely stunning – both inside and out. From the moment you step through the doors, you’re surrounded by a warm, polished atmosphere that feels intimate yet world-class.
The tour itself was outstanding. Our guide was impeccable – knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about the craft. The entire experience was informative, interactive, and full of fascinating details about the bourbon and whiskey-making process. I left feeling like I truly understood and appreciated the artistry behind each bottle.
The tasting was the perfect finale – the pairing with chocolates was nothing short of incredible. It elevated the flavors in a way I’ll never forget.
Cons? The only thing I’d mention is that the gift shop merchandise felt a bit excessively expensive. That said, it didn’t take away from the overall experience in the slightest.
Would I come back? Absolutely. This is a bourbon destination worth revisiting again and again.“

“Coming here was a last-minute decision, but it turned out to be the best one while in Louisville. This distillery is simply awesome. Lots of amazing whiskeys to taste and buy.
They have two types of tour experiences, and we opted for the one that let us try two whiskeys each from a selection of about a dozen options vs. the guided tasting of four set pours. I forget our guide's name since this was a few weeks ago, but it was an excellent experience. It was just the three of us and our guide in small room where he explained every whiskey in the lineup. All six pours in total were amazing and we walked away with four unique bottles only available directly at the distillery.
If I find myself back in Louisville, I'd absolutely love to return.“

“I've been to Stitzel Weller twice now, and I can say that it is my favorite spot on the bourbon trail (even better than makers mark). This place oozes history, it's less of a working distillery tour (although there is a micro still that still produces bourbon on site) and more of a love letter to bourbon history. The tour is a great look at the rise, fall, and comeback of American whiskey over the past 100 years. The blade and bow brand is a great bourbon, and the garden and gun club upstairs is my favorite distillery bar. Highly recommend even if it's just a stop to see the visitors center and garden and gun club! You won't regret it!“

“I have had several of the Middle Eastern menu items multiple times. Without a doubt it’s one of the best places here in Louisville. If not the best. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are healthy. I need to try some of the Italian dishes. The owner used to work in a top rated Italian restaurant for 17 years.“

“Had a great time on what ended up being a private tour for my wife and I since no one else signed up. I'd give it 5 stars if this were Yelp. Really interesting story on their more recent challenges and how they have thrived/survived. They have some great whiskeys to try and some of their unique finished stuff is incredible. If I had one complaint, it would be the plastic tasting cups.“

“We took our out of town guests yesterday. Our server Jessica was amazing! She really made our night! (If you are reading this Jessica, y’all/yins did a great job! Lol.) Everyone loved their cocktails. The pork chop was very tasty and perfectly cooked, loved the shrimp and grits… so flavorful! The salmon was also delicious! We had the cheese and hummus plate as a starter and I was not a fan. The hummus was gummy and had an odd flavor. The rest of our group didn’t mind it. I could have had the bruschetta as my meal… yum! For dessert we had the bread pudding and asked to have some bourbon to pour on top (so good!), the lava cake (wow) and the brûlée (coffee flavored and very nice). We were the last to leave and Jessica and the rest of the staff treated us if we had all the time in the world. We so appreciated that! Our experience was so special! Thank you!“

“We happened upon this restaurant while sightseeing in downtown Louisville, and really enjoyed it. The Kentucky Hot Brown originated here, and it was excellent! My husband had the BLT w/ pimiento and liked it. We finished off the meal with a slice of Derby pie (terrific!) and the pavlova (a tad too sweet for my liking and a bit hard to eat with just a spoon, but I still enjoyed it). I would be remiss if I didn't mention the perfect glass of iced tea I was served. It was plain unsweet iced tea that had been brewed to perfection! I would go back for the tea!“

“We absolutely loved our visit to Ash & Elm before a Fort Wayne Fever game. We came into town from Fort Wayne. I had googled gluten and dairy free friendly restaurants and discovered Ash & Elm. The place far exceeded our expectations. The environment is very cool- old warehouse vibes with cute decor. We especially appreciated the pride flags and messages of kindness throughout. Our server was awesome. All 4 of us ordered cider flights and told her to choose for us- she did a great job. We loved every selection. The Devour Indy menu was also available and 2 in our party took advantage of it. It was a great value.“
