“Amazing BBQ sandwich & slaw plate w/onion rings!!! The ppl were great when we walked in so inviting and sweet. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was so peaceful and relaxing, it was a great choice for our lunch date. Definitely will return here in the future & tell others about the Dairyette!“
“Go for the ambience, enjoy the food. When sitting at the counter, you'd expect Floyd the Barber to be seated across from you. Time hasn't touched this restaurant for decades (and, that's ALL for the good). The bbq sandwiches are small and served on white bread. BUT, the prices are commensurate ($3.50 for a bbq sandwich??) so I just order two. The sauce is legendary; a thinner tomato-based sauce with the perfect touch of heat. One of my favorite parts is the candy bar display behind the counter; I can't help myself and usually leave with two or three...or more. Is it gourmet? No, not really. Is it fun and worth your stop off I-24? Absolutely! Enjoy.“
“What excellent product and service! I had some glasses sent back home for Christmas and she went over the top in customer service to make the presentation POP. I can’t wait to see what she has to offer in the future. I live in VIRGINIA and will continue to support this small business from the East Coast! Thank you so very much!“
“Was born in Paducah but left when I was 8 years old. My Dad knew Happy because he used to go there as a young man . He took me when I was 12 or 13 and it was great, I'm 64 now. So great in fact that I must get back there and reaquaint my taste bud with the food. Grew up in Michigan and now live in Florida but I'll come back to Paducah for 3 things not necessarrily in this order. Visit relatives go to Happy's and go to Starns BBQ ( i think that's the name). It over near Bob noble park. We used to live on Rudy Avenue in Rollintown. Ahh good memories from long ago!“
“We zipped into Harned's for a quick lunch. The service was very good. They come out and take your order or you can eat inside. We had their famous hoagies, fries, and onion rings. It was delicious! Family owned and operated. Check online for their hours as they seem to be open at different times during the year. The food came out quick, well put together, and hot. We spent about 12$ per person.“
“Reviews brought us in on our way from Florida to Minnesota. It is an older building with dated decor but the parking lot was adequate for our truck and trailer. The service was prompt and friendly enough and the food, although the buffet had few options, was very tasty. Left full and content. Prices were good. If you order from the menu there are many more options. Worth the stop.“
“I ate here with my mom midday a few weeks ago. Food was really good. Nice selection. Good seasoning. They had a standard “southern spread” with a lot of fried or heavy foods. Salad bar was nothing to write home about but you don’t go to a place like Big Ed’s for the salad. Banana pudding was good too. We’ll definitely go again.“
“This is the place for ultimate comfort food. The large chili cheese dog is one of our go-tos! No one else around makes it like they do! We also get nachos, corn nuggets, a mutton sandwich, and fries. This is the place to come if you are wanting a casual, kinda loud, sometimes unruly, but other times an all around American family restaurant. There are so many items on the menu, but we always tend to get the same things. Also, we always forget to take pictures, but will take some the next time we go and update this post later.“
“We stopped in on our trip to Paducah from St. Louis, MO and I’m so glad we did! The service was amazing. Alyssa is so sweet. She offered my daughter, Lorelei, a sucker and was just an absolute charm all around! The food was just as good! We will be back next time we’re in town.“
“This place is an absolute must stop! They have five meats, one sauce, and two sides on their menu; Pork, Beef, Ham, Turkey, Baloney, and potato salad or coleslaw. We shared three sandwiches and one of each side. It was all simply perfect. The sandwiches come with sauce or without, on grilled white bread and served perfectly wrapped in paper. It feels like the way it’s been done for 100 years, with no changes. It was super inexpensive, friendly, clean, unique, and delicious. One of our favorite stops ever, and by pure random chance. Absolutely must go here and step back in time if you’re nearby. Nothing fancy, just perfectly simple and good. Really friendly staff too, and it felt like they knew everyone that walked through the door.“
