“This is not fast food. They don't serve the salty, oily, super sweet American/Asian hybrid slop that the fast-food places tend to serve.
This a place to sit with friends and talk while you enjoy some good food. A large part of our conversation is usually about how good the food is.
They have a lot of choices on their menu, and they accommodated one of our parties' dietary restrictions without a blink. They let her pretty much make up her own dish (which after she described what she wanted, turned out to be almost the same as an item on the menu that she didn't see.)
The food is great. The service is great. The prices are reasonable.“

“Had reservations for Valentine’s Day and they were overbooked. We waited an hour for a table and others with reservations were waiting out the door at 7:00pm and when we left at 8:30pm. Very noisy. Server didn’t bring the side I requested when ordered.“

“They're in a food court. There's nothing they can do about the atmosphere. The food and service are great!“

“First time I ever ate Chinese two days in a row! Food was perfectly made. I thought all fried rice taste the same until I tried theirs. Manager Tony is as awesome as the food! Gotta try their new Thai Tea it is also very good! My opinion, best in Louisville!“

“What a pleasant surprise! The staff were so friendly, and the wait from ordering to being served was practically nonexistent. The food was absolutely delicious—I can’t stop thinking about it. I really want to go back and try some of the other dishes!“

“If you are looking for a higher quality Chinese restaurant this is the place. Prices are higher, but the quality of meats are fully represented. They also have a Korean Menu if you ask and their dishes are amazing. Highly recommend this place if you want top tier food.“

“Please note it's carryout only.
Clean, quiet, super friendly staff and fantastic food at good prices. Location on Southside can be a bit congested but you can sneak right out onto Strawberry for a light or a detour.
Will definitely be back. Pepper steak was awesome. Big menu. Recommended.“

“This was the first time i have ordered from here, but it will not be the last. We got take out - steamed dumplings, chicken fried rice and some boneless spare ribs. 😋 Everything ordered was exceedingly flavorful and delicious, even warmed up.
But I especially loved the jin jin sauce that came with the dumplings. Normally, at other Chinese restaurants I have ordered from, I do not like the sauce that is served with the fried or steamed potstickers/dumplings. But when I opened the container for my steamed dumplings, the sauce lid had popped open just enough to release an aroma - it smelled wonderful, so i tried it. It was insanely good and enhanced the flavor of the dumplings. Yummy. I loved it so much I had to call to ask what the sauce was because it did not taste like the sauce other restaurants have provided. The lady on the phone was very sweet and took the time to tell me what it was so i would know for future orders. Turns out, it isn't soy sauce but a delicious sauce made from scallions and ginger... soooo very good.
And the boneless spare ribs are wonderful - juicy and mostly tender meat - but i added a bit of duck sauce to make the sauce covering the meat even sweeter. All of it was delicious.
The only thing missing was fortune cookies. But that is the only negative. And honestly, the food was so good, I don't even care. I will definitely become a regular. And the value - the cost versus the portion sizes is absolutely way worth it. Yummy. And the ordering was very easy through Beyond the Menu.“

“I would give a 3.5 if I could. This place is takeout only, so I went and placed an order. The owner’s young daughter took my order which was super cute. I got the sweet and sour chicken and the lo mein. The chicken by itself was pretty bland, but the sauce was good. The noodles were ok, but could’ve used a bit more flavor. Price is reasonable and service fast.“

“Best Chinese ive had in louisville. Staff was really friendly and helpful. Food was great. I love the way the cook the chicken. It was all crispy. We had the braised chicken and the general chicken. Everything had good flavor. Portions were good size. Actually a bit much. We couldn't finish. We will definitely be back!“

“We’ve loved Yen Ching for at least 15 years. The food is awesome and the staff are friendly and welcoming. We have tried the tofu with vegetables in garlic sauce, Mongolian beef, and beef with vegetables in garlic sauce. Wonton soup and Crab rangoon are the best around! Highly recommend this place! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“

“I have came here very regularly since I was a small child. They did change owners once, but they’ve always maintained great food, great service. They are very hard-working. They are very consistent. I have eaten at many Chinese food places around Louisville in my 32 years and a lot will honestly leave me disappointed and sometimes sick. Here I’ve always loved the food. I’ve always got great portions for good prices and the prices remain consistent over all the inflation through the years.“

“I go here at least once every week or every other week. The fried rice is the BEST and I will ONLY eat from this Chinese restaurant. The people that work there are very nice and I love the 2 ladies that work there. All I do is call to place a to go order, give them my name, and they automatically know who I am and what I get is how often I go here 😂🤣😂🤣🤣😂. I would recommend to go here if you want to try some amazing Chinese food. They get 5 BIG STARS FROM ME 💜“

“We got honey chicken, broccoli in spicy garlic sauce, and lo mein. All were fresh and delicious. My only wish is that the broccoli was spicier, but it was still very hood. They also gave us free veggie rolls and they were great too! Portions and prices were good too. Very friendly atmosphere as well. This was our first time ordering from here, but it definitely won't be the last!“

“Been ordering pickup/delivery here for years. Usually at least once a month. Food is solid nothing that blows me away but it's reasonably priced, tasty, and good portions. Service is excellent. They've never gotten an order wrong or failed to include an item in the order.“

“This is my most favorite restaurant. I wish they would get on to doordash so I could have it delivered across the bridge to Jeffersonville Indiana. When I worked downtown Louisville at Humana we would eat there at least three times a week. All of the employees loved this restaurant. Please consider going on to doordash. I am disabled and cannot drive anymore so I cannot go to the greatest restaurant in Kentucky or Southern indiana. Thank you“

“They’re my favorite Chinese cuisine spot. I’ve been only eating Chinese from here for four to five years and it’s the most consistent restaurant I’ve ever been to. The food and service is always amazing and they keep their restaurant very clean including the kitchen. Would rate a 10/5 stars if I could 🙏“

“I had hibachi. Very good. Not a fan of buffets but everything was clean and well stocked. They got me on tips though..I didnt realize they already charged me a tip automatically so I tipped them again being unaware of the new tip policy. They got an 80% tip which was alot for one plate of hibachi. Clean and kept drinks full.“

“Been coming here for years now, honestly one of the few places around that actually gives real portions of their food. I always have plenty of leftovers and extremely good flavor and seasonings to boot.
Seriously can't recommend this place and really hope they can get even more successful to get their own bigger building someday.“

“Honestly? This place surprised me in the best way. Ate at The Place Deluxe Buffet and every single station felt intentional. The steaks were juicy and properly cooked, not the dry, forgettable kind you usually expect from buffets. The seafood was fresh and generous, and you could tell they didn’t cut corners with the ingredients. What really stood out was the variety. There’s so much to choose from, but everything actually tastes good—no filler dishes, no “just there for display” food. It genuinely felt like a curated spread instead of a chaotic buffet table. The service deserves its own mention. The staff were attentive without hovering, quick to help, and genuinely pleasant the whole time. It made the experience feel relaxed and smooth from start to finish. And let’s talk about the price—because this is the shocker. For how deluxe everything feels, it doesn’t destroy your wallet. You get premium-quality food, great service, and a full-on indulgent experience without feeling like you overpaid. If you want a buffet that feels elevated, satisfying, and actually worth it, this one’s a solid yes. I’d go back without thinking twice. 🍷✨“

“I'm going to be honest. I thought I was going to a place where I could street fight, like in the game. This was not the case. 🫤 However, the food was good. That's why I gave it four stars. But if you're looking for a place to street fight, I would go somewhere else.“

“These guys never miss. 54 points, 15 rebounds, 12 assists, 3 steals, and a block! I’ve been ordering from here since 2004 and it’s still just as good as 20 years ago. Best sweet and sour chicken in Louisville. Best Chinese in Louisville. Their bourbon chicken is something special as well, and their fried rice. They need to go back to their old egg rolls though but they still get an A++ from me.“

“This is the best Chinese restaurant in Louisville I’ve ever been to, and the only one I’ve been to since eating here the first time. Everything tastes so fresh and hot. The cooks are so efficient! I noticed they recently changed the inside a little bit and I love seeing them grow and be able to make changes. Highly recommend. This is coming from someone who never leaves reviews but they absolutely deserve it.“

“Stopping through Louisville and from Denver. Stayed at a local hotel and this place does not disappoint. My wife and I ordered the Kung Pao chicken, egg roll, and fried wonton and all were delicious. Super reasonable pricing but then again, when you're from Denver, everything is super reasonable. I doubt if I'll ever be through Louisville again but I highly recommend this restaurant.“

“I have ordered probably 50 times by this time. They would know. They are amazing. They are fast, they have messed up maybe 2 times, only forgetting drinks those times, but they offered to bring the drinks to me. They called to say they would be very late because they were backed up and they were very nice about it. They always treat me nice. They put in coffee news when I ask. I always get delivery. I will always order from here. Food is amazing, it's not for everyone, but if you don't like it, go somewhere else. This is my favorite delivery chinese restaurant.“

“We met friends at this new restaurant and really enjoyed it. There is a small eating area, and it seems to do a good carry out business, too. We all ordered different dishes and each was prepared fresh and brought hot to our table. The Crab Rangoon was very good, and the steamed chicken and vegetables was, too. Won Ton soup was a full bowl and looked good. Rice was good, egg rolls- ok.\nThe staff seemed friendly and helpful, when ordering and serving. I would definitely go there again.“

“I don't usually leave reviews but I just want to say this is some of the best Chinese takeaway restaurants I've had. The orange chicken is made with real orange peel and tastes fresh not frozen and the rice is always tasty as well. They give a free soda with your order and the portion is great enough for 2 meals. I'll be ordering from here from now on. Not too expensive either.“
