“It's rare that we have a date night on a weekday with two young children, but tonight was the exception. When I realized our anniversary was falling on a Wednesday, Perso was the first place that came to mind. Perso's Prix Fixe Menú is available every Sunday through Wednesday and offers a three course meal for $29. It's no secret that I'm a fine dining enthusiast; but who doesn't love a bargain? If you're looking for a nice night out without breaking the bank, this is your spot. Perso sits at the corner of Oak and Shelby in the same location as the former Square Cut Pizza. The giant windows in the front provide an abundance of natural light. The interior has a modern industrial vibe with painted exposed brick, plants, and Edison bulbs hanging on pendants. One wall with wooden slats gives a Scandinavian feel to the main dining area. It's a small-ish intimate space with a beautiful patio. For my first course, I chose Crostino Di Tonno- olive oil poached tuna, stracciatella, pickled celery, and Calabrian chili. I followed my first course with olive oil poached swordfish, corn chowder, and golden zucchini scapece. For dessert, I had the chef's choice: apple strudel with whipped cream cheese. My husband chose heirloom tomato with roasted eggplant, bagna couda, and fine herbs. For his main course, he had pork tenderloin with edamame, beef dashi, and fine herbs. We both opted for the chef's choice for dessert. I tasted each of his courses and they were every bit as delicious as my own. The edamame provided the perfect texture and his tenderloin dashi tasted gravy-esque without being overly heavy. Mostly notable, besides the insane deal for such decadence, was the fresh flavor combinations throughout. Our table had fresh rosemary as a centerpiece. The corn chowder was right up my alley. I could've licked my bowl if I wasn't trying to pretend to have a bit of class. The swordfish was tender, juicy, and not overly fishy. The tuna flatbread was the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. The mint on top of my whipped cream cheese truly set it apart. My lavender Manhattan was earthy and smoky, not just in flavor. It was literally smoking. My husband had an old-fashioned. Neither of us were disappointed. Our server, Amanda, was phenomenal. She offered recommendations. She visited our table to ensure we were satisfied the perfect number of times. Her warm demeanor was professional while also being personable. She was everything we hope for in a server. Perso's Sunday through Wednesday Prix Fixe Menú is hands-down one of the best opportunities for an affordable night out. That being said, once you get a taste of what they have to offer, you'll be sold on splurging any day of the week.“

“Staff was the rudest I have ever encountered at the Middletown location. I also witnessed extreme rudeness to a door dash driver who had clearly been waiting a while and when they asked about the order having been marked 10 minutes ago as ready they were told "We don't care about YOUR numbers, we have to appear to be on time." He looked like management. I turned and left, I will not do business with someone being rude to staff or anyone providing a service to them any more than rudeness to customers.“

So i googled Ethiopian coffee shops in Louisville and found Abol cafe. visited today and had some pour over coffee, it was the best coffe i've ever had, and i have tried coffee everywhere!!!! believe me when I say this place has the best Coffee around. This place more than exceeded my expectations of Ethiooian Coffee!!!! I will be visiting this place alot more.“

“Went there today for my first time very great atmosphere didn’t know what I was wanting to get or what I should get so I decide to ask an employee there what they think is a good recommendation. After a few recommendations I decided to go with something and when I did, I was not disappointed. I’m sure there is multiple other things there that are very good but all in all great experience very well ran and very respectful employees will definitely be going back and recommending it to others. They sure did brighten my evening!“

“We stopped by and this is the best ice cream EVER! The staff was so kind and helpful. The flavors were unique and delicious. We learned all ice cream was made in house and you can tell! I will be coming back and you need to make a stop anytime you are in Louisville!“

“We were celebrating a birthday, and our server was very celebratory with us which made it pleasant. One of the guests got the swordfish and said he can't wait to go back to get it again. There was the steak which was cooked perfectly and I understand the favorite there is the swordfish which I got and I enjoyed. It wasn't my best. We were pleasantly surprised that it was half-price wine night so we definitely took advantage of that. and our server really helped us understand what we were getting because we weren't familiar with French wines.  so glad I spent my birthday there.“

“We visited here for a birthday party earlier today. The girl who waited on us was named Kaylee. She was fantastic. However there were 30+ of us and she was running the show alone. The kitchen mixed up our food and we had missing food. She was running 95% of the food to us and got ALL of our drinks by herself. She was the only server assigned to us and she did ALL the work. As a server myself for 10+ years that's absolutely ridiculous. I've always shared a party that large with another server and if for some reason I was on my own my coworkers helped me with drinks and helped run food. She had no team players except ONE time a young lady helped by bringing two appetizers to the table. A manager should always come see how service and food is before the party leaves and we didn't see a manager for the 3 hours we were there. Thank you to Kaylee for handling the party on her own, you were fantastic ma'am.“

“If you are looking for top end coffee, Fante's has the best beans in town. They source directly with the farmers and hand roast everything themselves. Each bag is hand marked with the date/roast/etc.

I talked with one of their roasters, Derek, and he walked me through all the details about each blend. You could tell he was a craftsman and knew his art. Lots of different choices, and each bag brings out the best of what that particular bean or blend of beans has to offer. If you want to taste what coffee actually is supposed to taste like, get your beans here. Best in city!“

“All I can say is wow. Been here twice in a week. The Shepherds Pie is insane good. The Scot egg, Mac & cheese, and beer cheese are all incredible. Great great food!!“
