“Walk-On’s Alexandria is my favorite restaurant in the area. Whether you are hungry for a salad, appetizer, dessert, entree, or all of the above, Walk-On’s has the best variety and most delicious food! Personal favorites: spinach & artichoke dip, lemon butter chicken, ribeye po-boy (extra garlic aoli), and chocolate chip cookie sundae. This review would not be complete without a shout-out to my favorite, friendly servers and managers: Kip, Chris, Maddie C and Jacob S - ALWAYS attentive, efficient, and kind! Keep making dining out a great experience!“

“This place is awesome. I stopped by today for lunch and had the pot roast hot pressed sandwich. It was amazing, veggies fresh and crisp, juicy delicious meat, and great service. Definitely stop by when you are close and need some lunch.“

What makes Caro's stand out is more than the food, it's the people. The owner and staff always greet me and make every visit feel like home. “We visit lots of breweries, in state & out of state, & there has not been another brewery that comes close to Huckleberry. Their Trail Dog & Sandbar Blonde are easy drinking & my 2 favorites. Having said that; their seasonals & the new releases are outstanding. Pair the beer with great entertainment, best bartenders around, & a Brewmaster & his wife who are always ready to welcome you to their brewery, & you will know right away that you’ve found your brewery! *& don’t forget to bring your pup, they are definitely fur baby friendly! 🌟🍺🌟🍺🌟🍺🌟🍺🌟“

“I used to be a huge fan of Rosie Jo's. But now after eating their Cajun Nachos, I'm a full blown air conditioner! Best nachos I've ever had. Great portion size. Really balanced flavors. I'm very happy with my lunch today ❤“

“I’ll start by saying this is by far the nicest restaurant I’ve been to in Alexandria. The food was adequate, well portioned and agreeable prices. The waiter and other staff were polite and largely prompt. There were a few instances that were less than ideal, but it seemed he was covering multiple sections and doing his best.

We were able to make a reservation within a few hours of dinner, and upon arrival, it really didn’t seem like reservations were necessary which surprised me for a Friday night. I had almost asked if there was a dress code given the vibe I was getting from the website, however there were gentlemen there in athletic shorts and baseball caps.

There are a few things they could do that would really elevate the experience:
Food: ease up on the Worcestershire sauce and ease up on the butter. The effect was greasy bread with a fine sheen and the steak just tasted cheap. Meat quality was akin to what you’d find at a nice chain restaurant.

Tables: there should not be a wobbly table in a place like this. Also, running an iron over the table cloths to remove the fold creases would take about an hour for one person. Again, it makes it look cheap.

Cleanliness: bussers should look under the table when cleaning. They left a bread plate and detritus under the table next to ours.

Service: speaking of bread plates, we should be offered clean plates for appetizers and not have to use the bread plate. Waiters should not be reaching over plates to refill glasses.

And lastly, this is more of a personal taste, cutlery should be heavier in the hand. Light, thin cutlery feels cheap.“

“Everything is awesome here, except the gumbo…the gumbo is gross (i.e. flavorless) and too expensive for its quality, drive a bit further in either direction and you’ll definitely find better. The chicken cracklins’ are second to none! Do stop. Don’t order the gumbo…unless they’re touting a new recipe.“

“Today was my first visit to this place after numerous recommendations fom friends. It was midafternoon so instead of breakfast, I decided I felt like ordering the classic burger and some onion rings to get a general baseline of the place. The onion rings were unexpectedly spicy. The burger was easily the best I've had in a decade or more. Our waitress, Shelby, was pleasant and efficient and made the whole experience a lovelier one.

I'll try an omelette the next time I go, and see how it stacks up to Huddle House, but in any case, I am certain this is my new burger go-to spot.

Also, the coffee was hot and tasty, and seemed fresh, and I might be mistaken, but I think the refill was free.“
