“My husband and I travel to southern Louisiana the first weekend in May every year to partake in the crawfish festival. As a result, we like to dine at as many local establishments as possible and we always try to give an elaborate, detailed review. Let me preface this by saying I come from a family that owned a restaurant for 24 years and I have high standards. Since we come to town for crawfish, that is usually the first thing on the menu. It is not my favorite, but my husband loves it. So he ordered the crawfish(platter I think) which was a couple pounds with corn and potatoes. We were offered regular or spicy. Right here is where things get different. We eat a LOT of crawfish down here and we do our own crawfish boils. You can choose “spicy” and obtain that by leaving them in the pot for a few extra minutes to soak up the seasonings and they will be “spicy”. However, there are a few places that try to obtain the “spicy” by adding a powdered heat to it after they have been removed from the pot. If you like that way, that’s fine. We do not. We find that all it does is get all over your hands and face and really doesn’t add very much flavor to the meat at all. Each to their own. On the flip side. The crawfish were cooked and presented well and they were priced right. I had fried catfish. This too presented its own problems since it was brought on a basket, but I didn’t receive any napkins, a plate, or a fork. I did go and ask for them and received all of them. I realize that most people are ok to eat certain things with their hands, but I am a nurse by trade and I know what is lurking around on people’s hands. There will never be a day when I will eat anything with my hands. On the flip side. The catfish was phenomenal!! It was seasoned to perfection! Cooked exquisitely well and served hot! On a scale of 1-10. I’d give them a 7.5. It was good. The things they did good, they did really good.“

“Me and my husband stopped to get us some food otw home after staying at the campground and this was a great choice I got the marinated pork and Mac and cheese my husband got ribs over rice dressing and pork n beans best plate lunch we’ve had in a while and surely did not go to waste we will be making that 45 minute drive soon to try it again 💜💜“

“I come for the boudin and for Charlie t's seasoning mix. According to the employee that I talked to, they do not put organ meats in their boudin so it's a bit non-traditional. She said they use ground sirloin. I prefer to have a bit of liver in my boudin but Charlie t's is still very good because it's the best season boudin i have had. It's worth coming here for the seasoning mix alone. It's the best. The only other thing I ever get here is fried liver and fried gizzards which are both pretty good. I can't speak to the other food as I've never tried it.“

Outside, the fuel pumps are roomy and easy to operate. The diesel pumps on the side are very convenient for my hubby's dually. Anyway ima tell a story about my pain when trying to play ping pong, ok so me and my dad where at the worlds second largest Marriott very cool place 10/10 but I wanted to play sum ping pong so I went down to the pool but there where people playing so me and my dad went up to our room. The next day we went to go get breakfast and when we came back, the same two people where playing ping pong now thing is they aren’t GOOD they aways miss the ball like how can that be fun. The NEXT DAY THEY WHERE STILL PLAYING PING PONG I hope this was long enough.“

Y’all. Fried chicken might be a simple dish, but what they’re doing at Veronica Café? Next level. “Just recently purchased the 32oz box of Louisiana select frozen shrimp and fixed it for dinner for the family and my wife who has eaten shrimp from the east coast to the Gulf and is so picky about it was pleased with how good it was and even had seconds. I opted for the shrimp po' boy, which was decent and flavorful. I'd rate it a 3.75 out of 5. My husband tried the fried pork chop special. Although it had good flavor, the pork was a bit dry, so we would rate it a 3.25 out of 5.

The standout feature of our visit was undoubtedly the friendly and welcoming staff. They were attentive and added a pleasant touch to our dining experience. While the food had its ups and downs, the overall atmosphere and service made it a worthwhile visit.
