“Had the opportunity to visit for dinner with a few others. The fried ribs were great and we shared the seafood nachos. The food was hot and fresh. Nice variety of menu items for everyone. The atmosphere was cool and the jukebox was a plus! Of course we had a few daiquiris as well. I'll visit again when back in the area.“

“Let's get this one above the Denham one. It's tied for my favorite against Central. Went on a date here, waitress was kind to us both and even let us stay past close to finish our food. “first I love cracklins...but somehow the ones I get from Ronnie's have been very hard..like under the lights too long... next...as much as I love chicken cracklins...to be driving down the Interstate and see feathers on your next bite of cracklins really turns the stomach. makes me wonder if I had already ingested feathers from the previous ones I had eaten..“

“We were looking for a solid chinese food place in Zachary and THIS is it. I'm originally from Atlanta and haven't found a Chinese place I like as much as Hong Kong Restaurant. I tried it originally because my friend was sick and I ordered her wonton soup from here. The soup was so good and really helped her. I stayed in Zachary for about a week and ate here probably 3 times not greasy, the veggies and meat all taste fresh and the food arrives hot! Thank you, Hong Kong Restaurant!“

“At the recommendation of Gabriel, our super nice waiter, I tried the Debris Po boy... But I did it his way! No mayo, a little horseradish, spinach, peppers, pickles, tomatoes... And it was great! My wife had Tomato Basil soup, and it was super tasty! Prices were reasonable, food was good. Place was super clean... The local police Sergeant agreed...“

“Pizza was just the right size for one person. Had the hot honey off to the side. Was pretty good but needed just a bit more heat. I got the gluten free crust just for the hell of it & that was pretty good too. Sauce was on point not sweet at all. Loved the flavor the open fire gives it. I actually could have eaten another one to myself being I was hangry. Will definitely go again when traveling.“

“I like Tuckers. The people there are nice. They cook the food fresh when you order. They have excellent fried catfish. So it can take 15-20 min when you order. But, if you want home cooked Cajun food, it's really the only place in Zachary that I feel comfortable going to.“

Without calling ahead, my order was ready in about 10 min, so it is absolutely an option in a pinch. The wings were some of the best I've had, make sure to grab some napkins! The egg rolls really surprised me, they were just as good as the one's that were served at the old Trey Yuen restaurant in Hammond. I would highly recommend everyone try it if you haven't already! “My Wife and I eat here often even though it is a 25 mile drive but worth the drive. We always have Mary as our server and she takes excellent care of us. In fact she just ask me "the usual" for a cocktail and she knows to bring my Martini fixed just like I like. The steaks are great. I do not know of any other restaurant in Baton Rouge that has better steaks. If you start your meal with some of their wonderful tamales you will not regret it. We always enjoy the food, drinks and service at Doe's.“

“The negative: Parking lot was small; had a difficult time getting my truck out after someone parked near me while I was dining. Was also there 5 to 10 minutes before I had the waitress’s attention. The positive: Food was absolutely outstanding. Roux was perfect. Remoulade was close to world class; I’ve had it in 5 star restaurants in Vegas that wasn’t this good. Kind of food you travel a bit to get to. I’ll put up with the negatives if that’s indicative of the rest of their menu.“

“This is definitely the 'after church' spot on Sundays. We were told the wait would be 20 minutes, that turned into she forgot about us, but we didn't let that ruin our mood. Finally got a table, placed our order and waited 50 minutes before our food came out, now that didn't make us too happy. They were busy, we get it, but it's not cool to keep forgetting about your customers. We enjoyed our meal, paid our bill, tipped our waiter, and got out of there. No complaints about our food.“

I got the enchiladas and my cousin got the red fish special. Before I even tried my food I was stealing his vegetables. Super tasty, well cooked, and a good variety. My combo enchiladas were fantastic- I ate it before I even considered taking a photo. The service was awesome, my cousin never needed to ask for a refill and I never got to the bottom of mine. We added a dessert after the bill and they got it out quick. The music playing was unexpected but good fun and everyone seemed really nice. Can't wait to come back with more family!“

“This place is great for some downtime cooking. Hence the name of the place. Love the breakfast. I had and recommend the boudin omelet that comes with grit or hash browns & biscuit or toast. I always aske for a bowl of sausage gravy for my biscuit. My wife had the grilled pork chops and eggs. Her pork chops were a little overcooked and tough. Our friend that joined us had the meat lovers omelet with hash browns and biscuits and gravy but had to send the biscuits and gravy back due to it was cold so it could be warmed up. The food was good overall. Our server seemed to be running around with her head cut off and kept forgetting things but did a good job overall. Just like every restaurant, they all are hit or miss at times. Still a great little hole in the wall place to get some down home cooking.“
