It’s a legit American version Chinese food place. Not cuisine, but still very good. I get Kung Pao chicken a lot and I am always happy with the what they serve up.They always have the food ready when I arrive. “I live in the neighborhood with my two daughters and we visit here pretty often. The couple who runs this place is very sweet & kind. This is the only place near here that I order fried food from because it always tastes like fresh grease. You know how sometimes you go to a place and order a shrimp po boy but you can taste all the chicken and fish that’s been fried in the same grease? Well the reason I love this place so much is that the grease always, always, ALWAYS tastes like your food was the only thing fried in it. It’s very clean. The couple has been watching my kids grow up (they were in elementary school when I first moved here and are headed to high school now) and always have the nicest things to say to us. The fried rice is very high quality. The seafood is seasoned like a black great uncle with Jesus sandals boiled it. (That’s gonna make sense to some of you lol) There’s an adult male who works sometimes who I’ve assumed is their son. He’s pretty easy on the eyes and doesn’t talk much, but I don’t see him too often. Upon exiting, make sure to PULL. They do not skimp on portions. Everything was great, except for the brown sauce. This one had cumin in it (I think it was cumin, it could have been another spice) and it really kind of ruined the flavor for me. I like cumin, but not really with that sauce. My only gripe… everything else was delicious, and next time I go I’ll get something else. “Now you can’t complain solely about the food due to the price and the portion! I appreciate the fact the food is always hot, fresh and deliciously prepared quickly! I have ordered here numerous times and the only thing I could say is that the rice is always too hard and too much ?. I always substitute shrimp fried rice for my combination plates and a shrimp egg roll in place of the original. I also wonder why it’s never that real shrimp fried rice either like with the fried eggs mixed in it ??? lol, but I usually wind up throwing half of my plate away due to it being the hard imitation fried rice. “I've been eating here since I was a kid. It is the best Chinese food I've ever had. I always get the combination Lo-mein (no veggies, extra sauce, spicy). It reminds me of being a kid and eating with my family. The family that's owns the restaurant are great and always helpful and they treat regulars like there own family and that is all u can ask for from a great local restaurant. I live on the north shore now but will literally drive an hour just to visit and enjoy the taste of my childhood.“

The food is definitely fresher than the decor. However, staff is always polite and check out is quick. The only thing keeping this from being a 5-star review is the to go utensils and sauces are stored in plastic containers like you would buy at Walmart on a table in the lobby, and the utensils are not individually wrapped. Total turn off. I ordered the pork lo mein with a side of crab rangoons. They did a fantastic job on both, and the portions on the lo mein are always ample. Total with tip was under $20, so affordable as well. Will continue to be my "cheap Chinese fix" location.“

The portion size was plenty as it could have fed three if not four people depending on your portion. Food came out quickly and food temperature. I had the egg drop soup and the Vietnamese chicken salad. The egg drop soup was as good as I have had elsewhere. The chicken salad was good but unusual as it had a lot of celery. Food was ready promptly and easy to call in over the phone. The vast majority of their lunch business is takeout! And they are efficient at it. Recommended. They seem to do the basics without issues at pretty good prices -- nothing special but nothing to complain about either!!!! Very convenient for take out to Touro.“

Many other cities have places like this all over town but NOLA is a bit lacking - and the high-priced pretentious Chinese joints opening over the past years just aren't great. Ming Garden has reliable, very good Chinese food of both the authentic and decidedly non-authentic variety. General Tso is very good as is Kung Pao and Mongolian Beef. Lo Mein is fine but I've certainly had much better. But for most people this will be one of the better Chinese options in town, definitely give it a try.“

A lesson from the great Stoic philosophers- stick with your initial plan. I hope you were not expecting Uncle Roger's fried rice; this was a few coin-sized shrimp and soy sauce. “Great out of the way home in the wall chineas food restaurant. I have seen several times and always wondered about this place. Today was the day, I walk in and it was like a ghost town with one employee in the back. I smelled some wonderful aromas and heard the clank of metal spatula and a wok on the background. This place might be a hidden gem. I looked menu and then decide on the Triple delight, shrimp chicken and beef with broccoli and white rice on the side. It was very fresh tasting, and just enough saltiness not over powering. I really enjoyed the sauce the chicken was tender as was the shrimp and beef. The broccoli had a good snap to it still so it wasn't over cooked. I got some soy sauce but that was the only part that wasn't great not sure why but it wasn't the soy sauce flavor I was used to very bland. I have my own bottle at home for leftovers.
