Honestly, this is one of those hidden gems I almost don’t want to tell anyone about because I want to keep it to myself 😂 But the food is just too good not to share. If you haven’t tried this place yet, you’re seriously missing out!

Definitely try the orange chicken. Unlike a lot of other places where you get mostly breading with barely any chicken inside, the pieces here are actually packed with meat. You can really tell they don’t cut corners on quality.

“I was in Tremé for four days, and I ate and drank coffee at Fatmas each and every single one of those days. The coffee was amazing. The food was delicious and their pastries were just beautiful. “Lovely bakery just off Magazine street with a huge production kitchen next door.

I was not super impressed by the food - the morning bun was overly sweet. The peach bun did not have enough peach flavor. The dolce & banana was all sugar with very little banana flavor. The brown butter cookie was alright. The mustard and onion savory croissant had great flavors. Every item, however, was missing the freshly made crunch I was expecting from puff pastry on the edges - I’m not sure why.

There was a steady short line inside when I visited on a Saturday morning. Easy to find seats.“

“While I’ll aways recommend, tonight definitely was a damper on what used to hold a top reputation for years for us. We went for our 17th anniversary (just 2 people). And I cannot tell you how many times we kinda got lost in the system and the service was soooo slow! They comp a drink but to be honest- 2 hours for a meal for 2 people is just long. Chocolate dessert seemed to be shrinking in size as well. For a $200 meal for 2, I personally wouldn’t have wanted to repeat the night again. Steak was okay but chewy and my husband’s more expensive steak, lacked flavor. I love ya La Boca but tonight will probably make us wait a bit to return.“

After reading over the menu option — there is a wide variety of sweet & savory items — we settled on a dark chocolate milk shake and crème brûlée crepe with strawberries. Absolutely amazing! We did not expect it to be as delicious as it was and now we can’t wait to come back for another sweet crepe. Definitely recommend giving this a try if you haven’t already.“

We had tried a seafood restaurant the day before in the French quarter and left a bit disappointed thinking we wouldn't get the great dining experience we were hoping for while in New Orleans, but Restaurant des Familles more than provided. Everything we had was wonderful, not to mention the service was good and the views were lovely. So happy we stopped!“
