“Zea Rotisserie & Cafe on Hickory Avenue in Harahan (just a stone’s throw from Elmwood) offers a solid dining experience that’s hard not to appreciate—even if it doesn’t quite knock your socks off. The rotisserie chicken is reliably juicy, the Thai ribs have a nice kick, and the roasted corn grits are a comforting side that rarely disappoints. I recently had the Honey Island chicken sandwich and it was delicious. Absolutely recommend the hummus.
The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, perfect for a casual lunch or low-key dinner. Service is generally attentive without being overbearing. While some menu items might not dazzle every time, the overall consistency and friendly vibe make it a dependable go-to when you're in the area.
It’s not revolutionary—but it doesn’t need to be. Zea delivers exactly what it promises: good food, good service, and in a welcoming environment. Sometimes, that’s more than enough.“

“Went with friends. The green onion pancakes taste exceptionally good. You can't taste the green onion and though the sauce is a type of soy mixed with something is sweet and light. The Salmon bento comes with 2 spring rolls, 2 thin, well done Salmon slices over lettuce, rice, edemame and sweet and sour sauce. Pretty good, the edemame was a little hard but other than that, it was pretty good. The vegetarian Ramen was extremely good even better with the side of curry sauce. Highly recommend. The curry Ramen comes with a chicken soup base and grilled chicken. Delicious and rich with a light creamy texture and the curry added a plus. The fried chicken Ramen had a lot of flavor but even more with Sriracha sauce. The seafood soup does not comes with noodles. It is a very tasty and fresh choice and great for those that have gluten issues. The environment is very quiet besides the guests. They play soft music in the back ground. Great atmosphere and there is a bar. There is a weekly lunch menu but not on the weekends.“

“Customer Service leaves a lot to be desired. Our waitress barely stopped by to check on us. The food was fantastic. The charbroiled oysters were plump and meaty. The gumbo and coleslaw were both very flavorful. And the fried fish dinner was also fantastic. Is the service was anywhere near the quality of the food I would recommend 100%.“

“0n a recommendation from our small haunted hotel we hit MRB for lunch. The catfish po boy was outstanding. Their drink specials were just right and reasonably priced. Two days later, we went back to try the alligator sandwich and some charbroiled oysters also spot Definitely would not call this a tourist trap. It’s like most of Nola, funky, functional and fun. Don’t confuse with Mr bs“

“The staff at Lula were wonderful! Went to look at the accommodations for a rehearsal dinner. The staff showed us the Barrel Room and explained the setup for the amount of guest expected. They are very accommodating for your needs. Lunch was delicious! Shrimp and grits and Fried pickled mirlitons with a poblano dipping sauce were a hit. Our server, Jalen was the best! Definitely a place to visit in NOLA.“

“What an incredible restaurant to visit! The staff, the vibe, and everything else in between was absolutely phenomenal. I ran into a situation where I forgot to grab my receipt, which was needed for expenses for a business trip, and the concierge was able to send me a copy of my receiptvia text message which was a huge lifesaver and a giant avoidance of a headache. If I’m ever in town, this is the first spot I will be visiting. The food was absolutely phenomenal.“

“We had a party of 13. Our waiter, Ty, was amazing! Ordered the Crawfish Papusas for appetizers. Delish. Main dishes: Gumbo and Coconut Snapper and Waffles. Gumbo was bland per husband, who is a connoisseur and from Lousiana. The Coconut Snapper is served on tartar sauce which overwhelmed the taste of the fish for me. Still, it was tasty. The cornbread waffles with the crayfish sauce that came with the Snapper were amazing!!! I had the bottomless pineapple Mimosa cuz we went at Brunch...also very good. Staff was pleasant. Restaurant has a good vibe. Also mentioned that everything is fresh to order...no microwave in the kitchen. That's a plus cuz I can use a microwave at home. Missed taking pics cuz I was in the moment.“

“My husband and I went on Friday night for dinner. Could not wait to try the new menu and it was simply awesome. To start with, our sever team was Isaac and Cheyanne and they were great. We never waited for anything. The Hot Crab Claws and Foie Gras Torte for appetizers were divine. I ordered the Duck Cassoulet and my husband had the visiting fish, Sea Bass over Yakamein. While the fish was excellent, the Duck ruled the table. Thanks to the Servers and Kitchen for a wonderful meal. We'll be back.“

“The most kind and attentive staff! We called ahead to see if it was hard to get a table of six and they told us it was not and to come on in. We showed up an hour later and they saved us a table. The food was authentic, fresh, hot and delicious. Our table had the lasagne, spaghetti and meatballs, Mr Ed’s special poboy and the stuffed seafood bell pepper. This was the most amazing food we’ve ever had. The hospitality was unmatched. Absolutely perfect! Come here for a good time, great food and exceptional service. Catherine was the most precious person and we wanted to take her to the Taylor Swift with us!“

“My wife and I chose Seawitch for our first anniversary dinner. We made a reservation for 6 PM and arrived on-time and were promptly seated. Out server was a very nice gentleman and answered all of our questions regarding food and drink. My wife went with the Prosecco and oysters to start. I chose a gumbo and Woodford Reserve. The oysters were perfectly chilled and plump. My gumbo had a perfect dark roux color and was perfectly flavored. My wife then ordered the Redfish entree while I went with the scallops. The Redfish was so delicious. My wife and I loved it. The scallops were perfectly cooked with a lovely sear outside and a perfect cook inside. They were massive scallops so we shared. Too full for desert but happily replete, we wrapped up the evening and now have a lovely memory of our first anniversary and will always come back to Seawitch.
The restaurant is located right on St. Charles so you can get there easily by Uber, car, or trolly. The building is very well kept and we had a great seat on the upstairs balcony overlooking the avenue. We really couldn't have asked for more. The service is top notch and my wife and I will always sing the establishment's praises.
Weird addendum....
The musical list was very smooth and great for the overall experience. My compliments to the DJ that put together the set list“

“Antoine was a fantastic server ...polite, courteous, attentive, and extremely handsome. oh and the food was good too. I ordered the soup of the day which was the crab chowder - really decadent but not too rich. Dinner was a coffee rubbed filet cooked to perfection. I was dining alone but seated close to two different couples who did not know each other but struck up a conversation due to their proximity and I enjoyed their conversation as one couple was Swedish and the other was from AL but had Swedish roots. it was a really cool place to eat since I would call it fine dining but a comfortable feel. 10/10. Ask for Antoine.“

“I just love this place. Been many times on multiple trips. Bartenders are always so engaging and very much about keeping you company and telling you about their drinks and oysters. On this trip, a bartender with pig tails and a cap made my time so special by telling me the back story on the gin and the oysters. Fun, smiley, knowledgeable, and just welcoming. This will always be a stop for me on my New Orleans trips. And happy hour on Mon-Thu 3-6pm has great prices and fun stuff.“
