“I was determined to find the perfect shrimp po’boy while visiting Louisiana and this amazing little place delivered. We ended up making the detour two days in a row because I liked it so much.The shrimp po’boy was a revelation. Coming from the mountain west, I have never had popcorn shrimp that plump, fresh and perfectly battered. The fish sandwich I had the next day was equally good. And don’t just take my word for it — many of the diners appeared to be locals whose orders the manager already knew. She greeted everybody with friendliness and familiarity without sacrificing speed of service.I’m so glad we made this stop. If you’re lucky enough to find yourself in Houma, Louisiana, I hope you find your way to Bayou Blue Po-boys.“
“When I was down there I had NO IDEA how to get into my food, like open the crab up n eat it. The server noticed this & deshelled my ENTIRE CRAB in like... 5 minutes or so!! She was SO HELPFUL & VERY NICE! didn't laugh at me or make me feel stupid for never being able to open my own crab up. She and the food were amazing!! I'd go again if I was still living there!!“
“The food was amazing. I got the bacon cheeseburger and my husband got the brisket quesadilla (definitely recommend). The fries come with the entree and they were some of the best fries I ever had (sounds silly to say about fries but true).I do recommend calling ahead and making sure you don’t need a reservation. We didn’t know to do this and we almost didn’t get a table. But the ladies worked with us and we were able to be seated. Unfortunately since we didn’t have a reservation we couldn’t throw the axes as the lanes were reserved. But that was our fault not theirs.The atmosphere is great other than needing a few repairs. But that wasn’t an issue for us.All in all was a great place to spend a Saturday with the food and live band!“

Sat at the bar and was instantly met with a smile and what would you like to start off with ? Courtney was as friendly as they come, her service was impeccable, Destiny and Tyler also provided me with excellent service, overall experience was excellent for my first time here. I will definitely be stopping here prior and after my off shore hitches to enjoy the great atmosphere and wonderful service.“

“The margaritas were super delicious. I loved the Skinny-Rita. Chips and queso were yummy and the traditional bone in wings were perfect. Mom had the burger and curly fries. She loved it. Staff were nice. Since there were only two of us we did have a 15 minute wait. That was the only drawback but only because we were super hungry. Otherwise 15 minutes is not a long wait time.“
“I was in town (from El Paso, TX) giving a training to teachers at Elysian Fields School and they all recommended "Mr. Po-Boy" for lunch. I went and had the 8 inch "Ray-Ray" (combo of shrimp, roast beef and sausage-my new all time FAVORITE) with all the fixin's and it was OUTSTANDING!! Plenty big enough. I ate half and saved the other half to eat at the New Orleans airport while waiting for my flight that night, and it was still OMG-DELICIOUS!! The combination was unexpected but those flavors meshed so swell together! It was the BEST thing I have ever eaten! Everything was cooked to perfection! I told them that I would be back after my training, around 3:30 to pick up some to take home and they obliged by putting everything in separate containers so I could put it together and have it as fresh as possible when I got home. I bright home a half n' half (grilled shrimp & fried oyster) and a Buffalo shrimp with ranch. Again, the food was INCREDIBLE! Whenever I am in Houma, this is the place I will go eat! They have an 8" and and 11" inch Po-Boy. Both are filling and stuffed with your ingredients. Just depends on how hungry you are. So, if you are in Houma, like their shirts says, "You've tried the rest, now try the BEST.", and they aren't lying! The food is FABULOUS, the service is SUPERB, and the staff is so COURTEOUS AND FRIENDLY!! I highly recommend you go and see Trina, Hannah, Wendell, and the crew at the Mr. Po-Boy on Grand Calliou in Houma, LA.! You may have tried the rest, but in doubt about, in my opinion, THEY ARE THE BEST, and their food and service will have you coming back for more!! Keep up the great work guys! “The food is really good the menu has a good verity. The bacon jam cheeseburger is incredible. The crab and cream cheese wontons are delicious. Don't miss out on this little gem. I personally think food networks drive in dinners and dives should visit here.“
