“Stopped at this restaurant near west Jeff hospital cuz I was visiting family in Lafitte. Staff was courteous and restaurant was clean. Both bathrooms were broke though?!? Got 20 pcs of tenders, 2 big sides and a box of biscuits, 50$. I remember when I could get 3 ten piece boxes of chicken and biscuits and drinks for that!?! To be fair, that was in 2005 though“
“The staff in the store were wonderful and so nice. They had no air, it was being fixed, working in a hot kitchen on a very hot day. They were smiling and so nice! The food was awesome and the service was excellent! Best Popeyes around! ?% would recommend this store! Way to go! Thanks for making us feel great after our day! You all are awesome!“
“For what it is - a fast food chicken restaurant - their product (the chicken) is not bad at all. Correctly cooked and mildly spiced (they offer a few different "flavors"). The sides are acceptable but forgettable. In and out fast.“
“The place needs a deep cleaning on the inside. There is a small area for dine in...not clean...sticky. If you have to wait and you are standing in the left corner next to the light up sign boards...look at the monitor, cables, register....they need serious attention, dusty as ever..and not from the floating flour dust. Don't come for me. I was waiting long enough to notice, but enough ? time in which, I should / could have cancelled my order. I did have to wait on a Sunday for spicy chicken and fried ? apple pies, and they were out of lemonade ? revisions were made. Patiently I stood and it was worth the wait. This is a multi million dollar company...under the possibility of an independent franchisee. Get your public area cleanliness together.. shameful, just saying. Trust me, people waiting on the inside waiting for chicken to come up, start looking at a lot of things. Step it up, cause the spicy ? chicken and the rice is on point.“
“My husband got surprised by the spicy sauce on his chicken sandwich, so the server gave us our meal FREE! What a compromise, so us being spice whips! Their chicken & fish were good; not spicy. Thank you Popeye's (our first visit) for great customer service!“
“My wife and I had a late evening hunger that needed to be craved. We had a taste for chicken, and Gus was our second option. They stayed open at a great time to accommodate our hunger. Although we had a bit of a wait to sit down( there was a party of 28 people) so we were patient. The chicken was hot and fresh. Crisp skin, though I can't say that it was flavorful. It had a late kick of spice to it but the spice wasn't overwhelming. I want to try the tenders on my next outing and the greens.“
“Fried chicken, fried gizzards, fried livers biscuits and dirty rice you can't go wrong!! Sometimes they'll overcook the gizzards, but pretty much everything I get from here is delicious and perfect every time. Fast food done right!“
“Perfect spot for a quick bite and drinks. The fries and tenders had a flavorful creole seasoning that was a good amount of spicy. The Voodoo Punch daiquiri we tried was really good but a bit pricy. I wouldn’t come out of your way to visit if it’s your first time in New Orleans, but it was perfect for us after a long day of traveling.“
“On our New Orleans trip, my fiancé and I snuck away from a work event to grab a quick bite and take it to the hotel we were in nearby. We saw this kinda hole-in-the-wall, Voodoo Chicken & I was sold - I freakin' love wings. We walk in and there are several people behind the food area, but nobody behind the bar. The sign says to order at the bar, not the food area. Okay, got it. We waited. And waited. And waited. And nobody is helping us. A gentleman mentions after we openly wondered whether we should leave that the woman was in the restroom. We said okay, got it, we'll wait. We waited. It wasn't obnoxious, but it did take several seemingly long moments for the lady to come out. When she did, though, we were treated to a lovely conversation about how many bones she's broken, and how her grandma hadn't woken her up from when she set a small fire in her kitchen. We traded war stories while they whipped up voodoo wings & king cake ice cream for us (they also have giant vats of daquiris you can take with you along the street, since they have open-carry laws, but we were too tired for all that). We took it to the hotel to eat, where my fiancé had reasonably good chicken tenders, I enjoyed my sweet-with-some-heat-at-the-end voodoo wings, and we polished off the very good, mildly sweet, kinda cinnamony king cake ice cream (not much in the way of chunks of king cake in it, just FYI). We ate and slept like babies right after. It was tough to compete with the other sensational meals we had but the wings were pretty damn bomb; I'll always remember them.“
“the gal behind the counter was in a great mood. she had a great smile... and she KNEW i was going to order an extra toast!! when I asked her to add it, she smiled as if she already knew what I was going to say. the lobby was clean. Staff was friendly. satisfied MY hunger!!“
