“I do not have the words to do this place justice. The interior is lovely and very fitting for the French Quarter but the patio is the best! The food is so delicious that I would be happy to eat every meal there. The attentiveness of the staff was incredible - they know their menu (bar and kitchen) and make great suggestions based on what you like not what they are trying to "move".“
“My family and I went to eat here for Good Friday. We had the seafood platter and Jerk Chicken Nachos! Omg I highly recommend it to anyone considering these items. I also had the soursop and ginger lemonade. It was the best. Please go and pay them a visit. The staff were very warm and made sure we enjoy our stay!“
“Latin American food at its best! Interesting menu and big portions with home cooked flavors. Don't miss the wonderful hand crafted cocktails made with care by the owner himself. So yummy! The wait staff were friendly and attentive. We enjoyed a leisurely dinner.“
“Our waiter was an excellent host, providing us with lots of personalized local spots for our vacation. We ordered a bunch of plates to share, which several staff complimented as their faves, and enjoyed every bite. Highly recommend the tuna ceviche and fried chicken!“
“I don’t know where to start but maybe with the meticulous approach to everything from prep to plating. Every dish was immaculate. The vibe was blessedly chill. Our server Catherine (who I sensed handles greater responsibilities) was cordial and informative, including her wine selections. We went with classics tonight: ceviche, mofongo, arepas, ropa vieja, and everything was perfect. I love this place so much.“
“Stopped here because the name included rum. And both the rum house and Axel did not disappoint. Quickly seated, and Axel right there to take our order. The tuna ceviche was delicious. We also partook in the spicy rum flight, bartenders choice. And had some tacos with fried plantains. All fresh, all good. Nice atmosphere, fun vibe, solid service. Not bad for picking because of the name of restaurant.Kid-friendliness: We don’t have kids but saw kids here so must be kid friendly“
“Take out- friendly, prompt service Creole wings- plump, juicy, flavorful, not usually a wing eater but loved these Jerk chicken on bun- spicy, peppery, soft bun, loved it, i added habanero bbq sauce i had at home- it needed sauce. Fries- Excellent, house-made Loved the decor, seating on patio and out front, friendly neighborhood vibe Clean bathroom“
“I had the curry chicken plate with the plantains & I also had 3 beef pattys. Everything was so flavorful & the spice was delicious. I think this is the most authentic/ best tasting Jamaican food I’ve had in Louisiana. When I tell you I been telling everybody ik about this place. The food was so gooddd and the lady at the register was so nice. This is how you do Jamaican food and customer service. When I come back to New Orleans I will back! I’ll take that hour drive no problem ??Kid-friendliness: There’s a kids menu and it’s a very family friendly place from what I saw. My kid loved the food!“
“Excellent. We eat here quite often and every time the food is on point. Yesterday, we decided to try the Brunch menu. For an appetizer, we tried the French toast bites and they were amazing. Then for my meal, I got the fried catfish and grits. I made the right choice, because the grits were seasoned just right, and they were so creamy. To be honest the catfish was the best fried catfish I have ever eaten. It was crispy but so tender. The flavor was impressive, and I enjoyed every bite. And I was impressed that it was only $15. Very reasonable compared to anywhere in Nola. I do not write to many reviews, but this was worthy of a review. A+++ Check them out.“
“Incredible food, but the prices are high, and also higher than posted on their menu, about double. It cost as much to go to Addis across the street, so be ready for full service dining prices. The food is incredible though, if I could get a plate and a juice for around 20$ I'd eat there every day, but you're looking at 30-40$ for lunch.“
“I haven't been to this spot since the name has changed, but I do know one thing that hasn't changed. The owner; Mr. Charles is as fiery as ever. Almost like "spicy cheetos" or jerk chicken, good spicy. In my opinion, they have the best daiquiris in town.“
“We picked up food from here to go. FYI if you order the chicken it does come with sides… we ordered too much for two. As a person who can handle some spice, the jerk chicken was a bit spicy for me. A gradual growing spicey, so for that reason I preferred the curry chicken. Both chicken where very tender/juicy and fell right off the bone. I enjoyed the beans and rice, I’m not sure if it was a bit spicy or if it was still from the chicken but it was good. I do also recommend the collard greens.“
“First time eating here. Ordered the Ital plate, 2 veggie pies and ginger beer. The veggie were very dry and not as full as other places I've gotten them. The ginger beer taste like it has some type of alcohol or something in it but the bottle drinks are plastic with corn syrup and artificial flavor. The Callalo is very good. The cabbage is under cooked for my liking. The beans and rice is also really good. The plantains were good but I think they use green plaintains verse black. I will probably be back for the greens and rice and beans.“
“Food was ok. Jerk chicken.. delicious. The rice and beans needed more seasoning. Most of the food was really bland. The seasoned greens. Seasoned to perfection. Oxtails….seasoned wells really tender. Fries… just like all fries. And the passion fruit lemonade was ok. Mac and cheese needed seasoning as well. This was a 4 for me. Food was cold, but all in all, it was tasty.“
“Outstanding food! Probably the best jerk chicken I've had! Service was okay - could've refilled waters and they didn't get me a receipt, but the owner came and talked and was great. A little generic in the atmosphere, but not bad. Overall would go again, for sure.“
