I always ate their fried shrimp. We always recommend Cou-Yon's to family & friends..Their food is the best & the workers are polite ..“

“Good food. Good service. I had a crawfish salad and cup of gumbo it was tasty kids, and family had steak that was juicy and tasty. Also, the steak wrap and poboy, and fried seafood were very good. Prices are not too bad. Good service;)

Yulanda, the restaurant manager, worked with us very closely, made suggestions and had everything ready for us on the day of our luncheon. “Awesome people and are willing to go the extra mile to make a customer happy. We picked up 15lbs of live crawfish at 12:30 in the afternoon and got home to clean them and prepare for a boil at 430. We noticed a few were dead and called and they let us know to wait and see if they wake up from being on ice. When we went to boil at 3 we noticed even more not moving and potentially dead. We brought them back and they kindly swapped it out for new crawfish. I appreciate them taking the time to show us a crawfish after being on ice and being kind to us and replacing them! Crawfish were amazing in size!“

In my opinion, this is the best restaurant downtown. This restaurant is reasonably priced and good authentic Louisiana cuisine. You can get a meal combo of fried catfish or shrimp salads, sandwiches, poboys or seafood platters for around 15$. Food is great and staff is friendly and food should check it out!“

The wait isn’t long at all for lunch. I ordered the shrimp poboy with onion rings, fresh, soft bread, I’m big on My food being HOT and the shrimp were ! That in itself won me over. Shrimp were nice size for a poboy well seasoned as Louisiana seafood should be. And the onion rings were so good !! “The food was amazing. Popcorn shrimp and shrimp fried rice both come generously proportioned. The fish strips nearly fall apart in your mouth, lightly battered, crisp outside n jucy center.. so delicious, you could say they are cooked to perfection. However, the actual size of each strip the fish is cut into...rather small. Nonetheless still 100% pleased with my purcase, if i HAD to come up with a food related aspect to complain about, the size of the catfish strips is honestly all I could come up with. On the other hand if we are speaking on service, the cashier wasn't of much help, After voicing outloud it was my first time trying Johns i expected some sort of suggestion or recommendation however I barely even got a response from the young lady whom looked up from her phone only for a brief moment which is when she handed me a print out version of the menu I was point at when I was attempting to ask a question about the menu.. but all together I was pleased and will be coming back!!

“First time eating here I think... I ordered a double cheeseburger meal. Burger was so big I couldn't eat but half! Fries were hot and fresh. But the ultimate win was mayo on top AND bottom bun..now even Burger King doesn't do that!!!! I'll definitely be back!“

“The service was amazing. Restaurant decor was good, very cozy with a bit of flair. Most of our food was great, the grilled fish and risotto were amazing. The rabbit and gnocchi were great as well. My wife ordered the fried fish plate which was so-so, the breading didn't have any spice or flavor. The fish and oysters were good and very fresh, but the shrimp tasted a little off. We ordered the fried green tomatoes which had shrimp as well and it also tasted off, and the remoulade had way too much mustard in it. Overall I was impressed, but those two dishes with the shrimp weren't great. That coupled with the eye watering prices would make me skip this place if I had it to do over again.“

“Easily the best salmon I've ever eaten. the server (I can't remember his name but he was a history teacher primarily) was amazing and very engaging with us. he even had no problem going back and forth between the kitchen and our table to ensure my dairy-free girlfriend could still have something delicious. truly a restaurant worth returning to if you are in the area.“
