“I had the hand pulled noodles with beef. I wish I took a picture but I was so excited to devour it that it slipped my mind. The beef was cooked incredibly tender and the flavor was on point. The sauce had that indescribable nostalgic scent of home cooked Chinese food. The noodles you could tell were actually hand pulled. Some thicker, some thinner, but all delicious. The Lanzhou beef noodle soup was delicious and light, with Szechuan pepper adding a nice numbing. The perfect small spot for a quick bite that will knock it out of the park! I’d come back again, their menu has a lot of variety and has so many things I want to try. Definitely gets busy with take out orders and a good number of tables occupied on weekends.“

They were eager to accommodate dietary restrictions, provide utensils, and work around our schedule. “I’ve been to Lu’s Kitchen a few times.
The food is consistently good and the portions are decent. The place is clean and service is efficient. It’s a reliable neighborhood Chinese restaurant with fair prices. I would come back again.“

“Went to an escape room nearby and a friend wanted Chinese near us and checked on the maps and this was close by and had good reviews.

Just like the reviews said there is as paid parking lot right next to it and you may find free street parking around.

Quiet with plenty of seating and very authentic Chinese food, not the Americanized Chinese food. They also served us water right away and kept coming around to make sure our glasses were always topped up.

The friend who wanted Chinese asked the waiter for a shrimp recommendation and talked with the waiter about what he would like and when the food came it was exactly what he wanted. Everyone lived their dishes and the prices were very reasonable.

We even agreed that next time we do the escape room in the area, we are going back to eat there again.“

“Second time reviewing this spot, it was even better than before. We eat a lot of Chinese food in the area and it’s rare that I enjoy each individual dish that we order, so much. My wife and I firmly believe the cauliflower is the best we’ve ever had. Specifically impressed with all the seafood and vegetable preparations but everything is excellent and presented so nicely. The food is not too heavy either, so even when eating heartily you won’t leave feeling too stuffed. Can’t wait to return.

As a side note, the staff were very sweet and accommodating to our three month old who joined us.“

“These days it’s not worth driving to Chinatown for dim sum, as the parking is terrible. As such, Joyful Garden is a great place for dim sum due to plenty of parking and tables. It was just me and a guest, and though we were seated a table near the back, the servers came by often so we never felt we were being ignored. The dim sum is as a good as most places I’ve been to. We had a handful of dishes, which included the egg tarts. They were delicious! Smaller than over years ago but that’s to be expected.“

“I ordered delivery with a call to the restaurant around noon. Woman on the phone was pleasant and even upsold me on some beef lo mein. She said it would be here in 30 minutes. It arrived even faster.

I ordered the General Gau's chicken, lo mein, and crab rangoons. The chicken was SUPER crispy, some of the crispiest I've ever had. It was delicious! The beef lo mein was ok, but there was enough to feed 5 people in the container. The crab rangoons are smaller than I'm used to but that means they fit more in the container. They were also crispy and delicious.

I plan on going back and trying out more of the other options!

“As someone who has had the privilege of dining at some extraordinary Chinese and Japanese restaurants around the world, from Hong Kong to Tokyo to Manhattan, I can say without hesitation that this is the finest Chinese and Japanese food in all of Massachusetts. The ingredients are exceptional, the preparation is thoughtful, and the consistency is remarkable. Restaurants like this are rare.

We even brought our chef Tracy here one evening. She’s worked in several Michelin-starred kitchens and spent years cooking in private estates and luxury hotels. And she was completely blown away. She kept commenting on the quality of the fish and the balance of the dishes, which says a lot coming from someone who cooks professionally at that level.“
