“The type of breakfast sandwich that really gets me out of bed on a weekend. Would love for them to open a location in back bay (please) but I'm willing to traverse multiple blocks for this. It can get super busy but I ordered online ahead of time. No seating but could easily sit on a stoop or the curb or a bench nearby because it's in a cute neighborhood too. The Fancy sandwich is a top 2 contender for my favorite breakfast sandwiches in Boston“

“Breakfast sandwiches are okay. Bacon is thicker and chewy- not crispy. Bread is toasted well. I did ask for my sandwich well-done, and it was just toasted okay. I would imagine they’re not usually toasted well. The best part about the “crack” sandwich was all of the gooey cheese. It saved the whole meal. Who can go wrong with a grilled cheese? Egg was fried perfectly, and just a bit runny. Wish the bacon was better and the sandwich had a little seasoning. It was very plain. The cheese made it, really. But like I said, they really couldn’t go wrong with all of the cheese they put in there.“

“A very nice restaurant serving breakfast all day. The chocolate is probably 2000 calories and will give you diabetes, but is also tasty ;) just don't expect you'll be able to eat if you drink it.

Eggs Benedict are only served with eggs sunny side up (not poached), and on a toast, which is a bit average, but overall it is a great experience.“

“Visiting the Boston area and found this gem, randomly. All I can say is wow, wow, wow! If you are in the area and want to find a local gem, this is the place. If you can't find something to eat here, you really are trying to not to find something. The service, amazing! And that's an understatement, from the moment we walked in all the way to the end, friendly, on top on everything even as busy as it was. Has that small town homey feeling and every guest valued. Like I said, if you are in the area and this is a must go to and try.“

“The French onion soup here is heavenly! The soup is really rich and tasty, loaded with onions, and covered with melted cheese on top. Honestly, one bowl is never enough.
You also have to try their Monte Cristo French Toast—French Toast stuffed with cream cheese, sweet smoked ham, and Swiss cheese, and served with strawberry syrup. It's totally to die for, and just as good as the soup! The portion is huge, but the price is super affordable, so you really get your money's worth.
Besides, the owner and staff are lovely. Super friendly with great positive energy. If you're in Boston, you gotta try Thornton's restaurant before you leave. It's a true Boston local spot that's been open for over 49 years, where locals eat. Seriously, if you don't try this place, you haven't really experienced Boston!“

“I was getting some work done on my car nearby and needed to kill a half hour or so. Kind of hidden/not super noticable from the outside, very cute pharmacy counter inside with a lot of cheap breakfast options. They are cash only (there's an ATM, $2 fee at time of posting).

I just got scrambled eggs with bacon and toast, SUPER reasonably priced, mostly older folks were there, eating and chatting or playing Keno.

The other patrons and the staff were all super chatty and kind. I honestly had a delightful time, if I lived closer I'd find excuses to come by all the time, great vibes.“

Best grits with cheese and the sweetest southern ice tea available in the state..lol...the only downside is that it's located in a rough neighborhood that doesn't ever seem to improve but who cares when you're getting good food. You can dine in or get your food to go. Either way, it's all about the food and it's good. Their service is good for they are always busy zipping around taking orders and preparing orders. “I’ve been coming to this deli for 13 years and I order the same thing regularly. It’s not even a menu item, so I’ve always been charged based on what goes into it, and the price has been consistent every time I’ve ordered it.

Today, I was charged significantly more than usual. I still paid it because I assumed prices may have gone up. The issue started when I simply mentioned that the price was different than what I normally pay.

The employee immediately became loud, rude, and confrontational. He claimed he was giving me a discount today, even though I never asked for one and was willing to pay the price. I was only pointing out that the amount was different than what I had always been charged before.

What should have been a simple conversation turned into an unnecessary scene. After being a customer for 13 years, I found the way I was spoken to completely disrespectful and unprofessional.

What bothered me most was feeling singled out and humiliated in front of other customers over a simple comment about the price. Whether that was his intention or not, that’s how the interaction made me feel. After 13 years of supporting this business, this experience has convinced me not to return.“

“Went for breakfast with my husband and grandmother. The server was super friendly and attentive. The food came out quickly and to our surprise, large portions and delicious! I loved the French Toast! Highly recommend!!“

“This restaurant has been hidden in between a fish mkt and a cleaners for over 20 years. It's very clean , great service. And very good food. The polite waitress was in fact the daughter of the owners . There's so many choices , between eggs and omlets to pancakes or waffles.. the wait was short for our food to arrive and big portions. “I have been going to Maryann's for a while. Its a local breakfast and lunch place. All the food is cooked to order by Bob the Owner. I usually go for Breakfast but Lunch items are available as well. It is usually a 1 person operation except for Saturdays when Georgia usually works as a Server. Coffee is freshly brewed and very tasty. it is cash only but the gas station across the road has an ATM. Give them a try.“

“Small neighborhood greasy spoon diner with generous portions and an excellent breakfast menu. Numerous daily specials including omelets, stuffed French toast and benedicts. I had the William Wallace omelet with fresh apples inside for a sweet savory and my girlfriend had one with avocado, broccoli and spinach. Service was polite and self service coffee was available. Not necessarily a destination for brunch but a nice place if you live in the neighborhood.“
