“What a shame I didn't discover this place sooner. Very good atmosphere, charming service and great quality of food.We had dinner at the bar and I enjoyed the experience many times. The Oysters are very top. We also ordered tuna and sea bass tartare.I will repeat for sure“
“Excellent clean food. Perfectly cooked meat. Exactly what I was looking for. Celiac friendly. Waiter was a professional and knowledgeable about what they served.Dietary restrictions: Can do gluten free. I am very sensitive did not get sick. Filet Mignon and baked potato without cheese sauce.“
“The hostess and wait staff were wonderful, friendly and efficient. Katherine was our head server and did a phenomenal job with such a large group Food and drinks were amazing, as expected. We hosted our son's graduation dinner and they even had a few unexpected personal touches which made it that much more special. Well done!“
“Definitely in the vicinity of 1 Michelin star. The service and atmosphere are relaxed and attentive, but not stuffy. The food is very good, with a few standouts: the snapper appetizer, scallops main, and desserts were excellent. The pasta main was a disappointment: too al dente and spicy, and in general, we found most dishes to be on the spicy side. So, I would say 5/5 hospitality, 4/5 food. Dinner took about 2 - 2 1/2 hours, and they were happy to accommodate our needs on that. Service was very attentive but not particularly warm; no mention of the occasion we were celebrating or any special treats from the chef or anything like that. Overall, a great option for a special occasion.“
“Great tasting lobsters and lobster sandwiches. Best lobster bisque in the world--seriously. Seafood chowder also very good. We always go here for the lobster special, which is reasonably priced. Where else in Boston can you get 2 lobsters and a bowl of mussels for less than 50 bucks? This place rocks.“
“As always our meal at Dovetail was spot on. I had the snapper and my wife the scallops. Bother dishes were thoughtfully prepared, attractive and very tasty. We've been fans for years and have never been disappointed in our meals at Dovetail or their sister restaurant, Brewers Fork.“
“Atlantic Fish Company is a must-visit seafood destination in Boston. From the moment you enter, you're greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy atmosphere that sets the tone for a memorable dining experience. My 4 person group started with cocktail shrimp and bacon-wrapped scallops as appetizers, which were both impeccably fresh and flavorful. For my main course, I opted for one of their evening specials: lobster carbonara. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the lobster was succulent, all enveloped in a rich and creamy sauce. But what really elevated our meal was the exceptional service we received throughout the evening. Our server was knowledgeable, attentive, and made us feel right at home.If you're looking for a top-notch seafood restaurant in Boston, Atlantic Fish Company should be at the top of your list ???“
“I had an amazing dining experience at Row 34! The atmosphere was lively and inviting, and the seafood was incredibly fresh and flavorful. From the oysters to the lobster rolls, every dish was a true delight. The service was top-notch, too – attentive and friendly without being overbearing. I can't wait to return for another unforgettable meal!“
“Delicious Peruvian food with expensive Boston prices. Quality over quantity, the portions feel a bit small but everything was very good.Parking is a bit tricky. There's limited street parking and I believe you are allowed to park in the lot by the grocery store. There's no sign saying otherwise. My friend parked there for the hour and a half we were there on a Saturday night and his car was still there.Edit from their website about parking: "There is plenty of street parking on BOTH sides of our street (Adams Street). This includes the area directly in front of the restaurant and across the street on the side of Russo’s Tux. There is additional parking on Garfield Street, just around the corner, as well as Wesley Street which is behind our building. The parking lot next to our building is NOT ours and vehicles will be towed. Please help us respect our neighbors! Please feel free to call the restaurant with any questions."Parking: Street parking, and maybe the lot at the end by the grocery store. Don't park in the one next to the restaurant, that's residential only“
“One of the best lobster rolls I've ever had! Fantastic service and a great selection of items- you can't go wrong with the lobster mac and cheese whether it's dine in or to go. Burke's is my go-to, special occasion meal but I look for any opportunity to visit!“
“The food here is absolutely amazing and definitely worth the wait. Expect a wait time of 30 minutes to an hour due to its popularity, but it's well worth it. It's a pretty small place but can seat a lot. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Personally, I tried the Swing Pork Belly, Yo-In-Style Ramen Noodles, Beef and Enoki Cabbage Soup, and Black Fish Fillet with Szechuan Pickles. The Swing Pork Belly with its incredible garlic sauce and the Beef and Enoki Cabbage Soup with the perfect amount of spice and meat were standouts. If I could dine at Mountain House for every meal, I definitely would.“
“The seafood options are absolutely divine! Love everything about this place- from the portions, the ambiance and the service. Prices are a bit on the higher end, but there is value for what you're paying for. I can appreciate that. Highly recommended!“
“Nautical themed seafood restaurant near Harvard University. Really cool vibes. A bit pricey but everything tasted amazing! We spent about $70 with tip for two people. Try the lobster roll and fries.Dietary restrictions: Our server immediately asked if there were any food allergies or restrictions when we ordered. Very prompt, professional, and considerate.“
“A notable destination for Mediterranean seafood fares in the heart of Back Bay.Recently took a visit for dinner. Set against a backdrop of a modern lounge vibe, complete with high ceilings, Porto seemed like an ideal spot for date nights. As advertised, their menu featured a blend of Italian pasta and Mediterranean seafood dishes. We started off our meal with the Crispy Calamari. It was a decent appetizer that aligned with the typical offerings of a modern Italian restaurant. Its seasoning was a tad overbearing, but it still set a nice tone for the meal. From their pasta selections, we opted for theWild Mushroom Mafalde and the Wild Boar Cocoa Pappardelle. The Pappardelle boasted a tender boar ragu with umami from Manchego, but it unfortunately suffered from a lack of cohesion. The pasta itself was slightly undercooked and lacked depth in flavor, failing to fully harmonize with the ragu. On the other hand, the Mafalde was enjoyable. The combination of garlic butter and Aleppo pepper introduced a welcomed acidity, and the interplay of textures between the al dente Mafalde and the succulent mushrooms was particularly satisfying. The highlight of the evening was the Seared Bronzino. Unlike many other Branzino dishes I've tried in Boston, which often fell flat in flavor, Porto’s rendition was masterfully-seasoned. Each bite struck a perfect balance between salinity and the sweet nuances of the squash purée.While Porto may not be the best Mediterranean spot in Back Bay, its seafood offerings, particularly the Seared Bronzino, make it worth a return visit. The pricing, given the quality and ambiance, also doesn’t feel too excessive. Recommend giving them a try if you’re looking for an upscale romantic venue with great food and atmosphere.Parking: Prudential public parking garage“
“We got the salmon cups, which was very hearty and yummy! We also got the Botan Ebi Ikura and the Miso Butter Cod and another handroll which I forgot but all were so fresh and delicious in their own ways. We did have to wait 20 minutes to be seated since it is a small space, but it was totally worth it!“
“We had an outstanding experience. Food and service were amazing. For example I always thought shrimp cocktail was shrimp cocktail but somehow these shrimp were fresher and tastier. The oysters were ridiculously good and my lobster roll was perfect. This will be my go to place for seafood in back bay.“
“In my many years of work in the service industry it is rare to come across a server as skilled and as talented as Jason, from the moment he introduced himself to the end of our meal he made his presence felt. He constantly provided high quality recommendations and answered any question posed by our party. From top to bottom our dining experience was unbelievable and Jason played a significant part in it. Will gladly be returning as the delicious food and top notch service will provide a constant reason to keep visiting.“
“Cute local shop with limited seating. Their poke reminds me of Hawaii - very simple, delightful, with good portion sizes. I would especially recommend their friend chicken that comes with their sweet and sour sauce. The owner was very sweet and gave us free pineapple cake which was delicious!“
“The hotel I stayed at provided me with vouchers for free clam chowder, which is how I first heard of this place.I went on a Thursday for a late lunch. The line up was practically out the door and every seat was taken.Rest assured the line up went fast and we were able to get a seat at the bar.I ordered a Lobster roll with a cup of clam chowder and a cider. The Lobster roll was priced at market value, which worked out to about $35.00 and it came with a side of fries. It was honestly, the best Lobster roll I have ever eaten, with a very generous portion of Lobster meat drenched in butter with a sweet secret seasoning. No complaints whatsoever. If I ever return back to Boston, I will definitely go back here.“
“I got the carbonara and sangria red, and it was nice! They start you out with bread, olive oil and parmesan, and I think they use fresh pasta and gave a decently hefty portion! I don't regret coming but will happily try out the other restaurants in the area before making my way back here. :)“
“Legit moved every bit of my meal! From the brown butter lobster roll to the delicious crudo. My only beef is the 5% admin fee already added! When I asked about it they said: “it’s to distributed to our non-tipped staff in the form of increased wages.” Why I am responsible for paying your employees a better wage?! Shouldn’t that be left to the owners/management?!“
“The BEST Chinese restaurant in the area.such great value for delicious and authentic Chinese food. The servers are the sweetest and nicest. Great atmosphere and always high attention to detail. All your classic Chinese dishes. The dumplings are AMAZING - juicy and flavorful - made with handmade dumpling skins. The beef noodle soup (niu rou mian) is delicious as well - very well balanced! My go-to Chinese restaurant spot!“
“Absolutely excellent meal with an excellent team. Starting with the amazing bread and butter and a ln orange creamsicle (adult version of a childhood favorite). Then the broccoli salad with poached egg (poached expertly creating a creamy sauce). I had the fusilli broccoli- home made pasta dressed beautifully. My husband had the chick pea stew - whole chick peas made this his favorite. Finished with delicious double chocolate chip cookies. Can’t wait to go back!“
“We stayed close to the Sail Loft in Boston, MA and traveling with three little kids - two of which have allergies. Jen, the manager, and the entire staff were very accommodating and even brought out labels of different foods to ensure everything would be safe. Many times we encounter staff that seem to be annoyed by the allergy safety requests, but not the Sail Loft. I usually do not leave reviews, but I wanted to go out of our way to highlight the experience we had here. The food and drinks were great and the atmosphere was fun on a St Patrick's Day Saturday. To any families traveling with kids with allergies - I would highly recommend making a stop at the Sail Loft when visiting Boston.Dietary restrictions: Highly accommodating of our kids allergies and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. They were on a 60-90 minute wait and still took their time.Kid-friendliness: Great atmosphere for lunch with the kids.“
“I just proposed to my fiancée and we came here to celebrate. The servers were very attentive and picked up on the fact that we just got engaged without us needing to say anything! They gave us champagne and a desert on the house, and even the general manager came to say congrats. Out main server was Mario and he was just delightful, the most amazing server we’ve ever had at any restaurant. Amazing food, amazing service, amazing atmosphere, 100/10 would recommend this place!“
“Hip little spot in Somerville for seafood with a Peruvian twist. This spot is pretty small so make a reservation ahead of time. Seating can be pretty intimate if you have a big party or broad shoulders. The seafood was good, I recommend the mixed seafood risotto and the cocktails were delicious.“
“We had an absolutely phenomenal dinner here this evening. Our waiter, Robin, was amazing. Highlights for me were the Beef Tataki, the tahini cauliflower, the dandan noodles, and the fried chicken. Great fusion food, great vibe, great views.“
“We met friends for a casual dinner and it didnt disappoint. Everything was delicious from beginning to end. Our server Ben was amazing. He was attentive and informed and funny. He made great suggestions since it was our first time. We will definitely be back. Thanks!“
“The lamb burger was excellent. Went in for a quick bite and our waiter was kind enough to split our shared meal - the lamb burger and fries with truffle - on two plates and maintained the presentation and quality of the food. But the real winner of the night were the two homemade cookies we took home. My only complaint of the evening was the back corner of the restaurant we were seated in was a little too dark for my liking. Overall though, a solid place for dinner.“
“This was my first time here and I will definitely be coming back. The food and drinks were absolutely amazing. I had the love potion cocktail with calamari and the sausage rigatoni 10/10. I had Sari as my server and she was so personable and friendly, answered all my questions and was so patient. I really enjoyed my experience!“
“I tried the lobster roll, and it was absolutely divine - the lobster was sweet and succulent, and the perfectly toasted bun was the ideal vessel for all that deliciousness. The cocktails were also fantastic, with creative concoctions that perfectly complemented the meal.“
“The 2 bone in filets were over cooked in one part of one filet and in the other filet it was under cooked in one part so we ended up trading the well done for the not so well done as how we ordered the steak .. they offered a new steak but at the price of the bone in we don't like to waste food - they comp a drink but that's all ? I think they should have comp the steak but otherwise it was good“
“I recently tried the lobster butter roll at James Hook and Co. in Boston and I was extremely satisfied with both the food and the service. The roll was packed with delicious lobster meat and the butter added a rich and indulgent flavor. The roll itself was perfectly toasted, adding a nice crunch to each bite.I also had the crab cake, and it was outstanding. The crab meat was plentiful and there were very few fillers, which allowed the natural sweetness and delicate texture of the crab to shine through. The crab cake was fried to perfection, with a crispy exterior and a moist and flavorful interior. One thing that stood out to me was the fast service. Despite the popularity of the restaurant, my order was prepared and served in a timely manner. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring that I had a great dining experience.Overall, I highly recommend James Hook and Co. for their lobster butter roll and crab cake. The quality of the food, coupled with the fast and friendly service, make it a fantastic dining option.“
“Lots to like, with a couple of notes. Good oysters, good beer, delicious pickled mussels. The seafood is our entrees was very fresh and the scallops were standout. The execution of the spaghetti with clams fell a bit short in the execution: The dish was noticeably sandy and had some shards of shell. We also observed our poured beers sitting for a few minutes before someone picked them up and brought them to us. But overall it was a very good meal in a very pleasant, not too loud setting.“
“Fantastic food and cocktails! Everything at bar volpe is phenomenal especially the in house pasta. I’ve never had anything from Bar Volpe or it’s sister restaurant Fox and the Knife that I didn’t love. Highly recommend ordering lots of plates to share.Parking: You will have to find street parking. It’s near a T stop though so I recommend taking that if you can.“
“I have a gluten allergy and was so excited to learn they have gluten free buns. So happy they can accommodate allergies! I got the lobster roll flight and it was delicious! Will definitely be coming back.Dietary restrictions: Loved the gluten free rolls“
“Wonderful experience, attentive staff, and great food. I just want to call out the ice cream dessert. The one with the caramel and pecans..... divine. This is obviously not an ice cream restaurant but this is the best ice cream I've had in Seaport so far.“
“Ate here again, 7 years later. What an Excellent dinner. Not cheap by any means, but service was top notch and the food/wine/cocktails were all delicious. I would not be surprised if this place is handed a Michelin star in the future. Go here for a special occasion - you will not be disappointed.“
“So nice black pasta!Since the room in the restaurant is compact, we, 4 adults and 5 kids worried about we couldn't get in there. But the staff kindly prepared a table so that we could really enjoy the outstanding pasta.Kid-friendliness: They have a chair for kids.“
“The restaurant was really nice, we didn't have to wait to be seated. The waitstaffs were very nice and helpful when ordering from the menu. Every dish we ordered were really delicious. I personally love the Grilled Octopus, Calamari and red beet salad, the drinks were divine ?. I think is a neighborhood gem . Definitely will come back.“
“I love this place. My friends introduced it to me when I first moved to the area and my husband, son, and I have been going ever since. They do dollar oysters every day until 5:30pm, which is hard to find these days. It's the best deal in town! We also love the poutine and there's usually a few great local/seasonal beers on draft. Great atmosphere and the guys who work here are friendly, efficient, and helpful. Highly recommend!“
“Visiting a classy restaurant in Boston, I came across a refined environment, frequented by loyal customers. My experience was short, limited to just one drink, but enough to appreciate the quality of the place and the opportunity to interact with amazing people.Proposed to me by acquaintances without me knowing anything about it beforehand, my surprise was immense upon discovering one of the most elegant and welcoming environments in the city. What elevates this restaurant above the others is not only its refinement, but also the warm and human welcome, as well as an exceptional clientele: groups of friends enjoying a meal and a glass of wine, elegant and mature couples who spend precious moments, immersed in pleasant conversations, and a chef who is attentive to the satisfaction of his dishes.I didn't believe there were still places capable of offering such an intimate and personal experience, accessible to everyone and not just to an exclusive clientele. However, considering the popularity of the venue, it might be wise to book in advance.“
“If you don’t go here for lobster rolls, you’re seriously missing out. Buy a pound of fresh lobster and ask for some rolls and a side of butter..BAM. Too delicious. Also fried calamari, clam chowder, and their blueberry lemonade were all superb!“
“Cozy atmosphere, decent prices, free miso soup no matter what you order.Server kept forgetting items in our order but we would ask and he would say they're on their way.. I assure you, the tea coming after the sushi boat was made and eaten was definitely a forgotten tea. They have gluten free soy sauce and as a vegetarian I was able to eat a cucumber avocado roll.Vegetarian options: Not labeled on menu but you could ask.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free soy sauce.“
“One of the best ice cream i’ve ever had locally. They were pretty short staffed when I went but the girl who made my ice cream, Bridget, was such a sweetheart and did an amazing job. More staffing would be nice but the pricing was pretty decent, I will definitely be coming back again.“
“Wonderful staff which that was very helpful of offering suggestions from a nice variety of Entrées and main courses. The ambience is warm and open with large windows over looking the lights of Boston. The grilled octopus was out of this world as was the beef Capacio with its wonderful truffle sauce. The Dover soul was beautifully prepared and deboned table side into moist strips of white fish with a light butter and lemon sauce. Also, enjoyed the unique serving of tiramisu for desert, which was also prepared table and was a great way to finish off the meal. Was a great place to celebrate our anniversary, and greatly appreciated the great service and food.“
“Contemporary Peruvian spot in West Cambridge. After a few successful years with Celeste, Maria and JuanMa launched La Royal in hopes to expand the Peruvian food scene in Cambridge. I had a great experience at Celeste a few weeks ago, so I recently made my way to La Royal to check out their expanded range of Peruvian offerings. The seafood appetizers at La Royal had a well-balanced flavor profile, but it somehow felt more generic. JuanMa’s creations at Celeste, which hold a more personal narrative from his childhood in Lima, seemed superior, with their more robust flavors and better quality seafood. I was especially disappointed with Causa de Tuna Salad, which just seemed like an overpriced tuna salad over mash potatoes. On the other hand, the cheesy Scallops au Gratin soaked in butter was a decadent treat. The entrées thankfully redeemed our experience. Both the Arroz Con Seared Duck and the Whole Bronzino were great. The former dish paired lean, perfectly seared duck breasts with the invigorating zest of salsa criolla. Despite my initial reservations about the cilantro rice, its subtle aroma was a pleasant surprise, and it felt more reminiscent of a well-executed paella. The Patarascha, grilled in plantain leaves, maintained the Bronzino's tenderness while infusing it with the unique flavors of Amazonian condiments. The process of deboning was somewhat cumbersome, but the intricate blend of spices and vegetable toppings more than compensated. While I may be hesitant to get seafood appetizers in my future visits, the entrées at La Royal are undeniably compelling. If you’re looking for a great ceviche experience, Celeste might be a better option, but for refined and satisfying Peruvian meals, La Royal also does a great job.“
“Who else hasn’t eaten bean sprouts and egg fried rice? It’s like a state banquet. I’ll be really sad if someone doesn’t pack a portion to take away when someone comes. It’s so delicious. It’s worth walking ten minutes in the cold wind to buy egg fried rice. (Egg fried rice can be bought separately without having to eat hot pot. Those who are too lazy to turn on the fire are in luck)“
“Food arrived hot and quick service excellent we asked for off the menu item Avacado toast and they had no problem making it perfectly 10 outta 10 comfortable no rush breakfastA big thing for me is they didn't hassle me about bringing in Starbucks I hate when places do that it's usually the reason I leave and don't come back so good on them.So I got a coffee before I left forgot to get it before they closed out the bill they were very good about it I thought I didn't have cash and even when I realized I did they comped it very nice staff if I could give them 6 stars I wouldParking: A few parking spots but freeKid-friendliness: There were kids eating by themselves must be from the building“
