“My daughter and I had to get dinner and not many places were open on a Monday at 8:30. My daughter found Johnnys and we called to verify we could order and eat there as kitchen closes at 9:00. This was our first time there and it will not be the last time. The waiter was very informative when it came to the food. Told us a lot of the favorites and description of it. We had a hard time deciding and he (Gabriel) brought us a sample of a sauce to taste. Glad he did, it was too spicy for us…. We’re whimps. We ended up ordering the potstickers, sticky ribs and the beef tips with broccoli and garlic noodles. All were outstanding! Yes we brought home left overs (mine were gone when I got home not reheated. OMG!). If you choose not to try them (more for us) but big mistake. It’s our new favorite restaurant and we live at least 30 minutes away.“

“Marco Carreira and his team recently catered a lunch buffet for an event that I hosted at my home. They came through for me on a very busy weekend on short notice. The food was still steaming hot when we picked it up, the amount of food included was more than generous, and everyone commented on how delicious everything was. Highly recommend!“

“I am 80 and retired. My wife and I have been enjoying Cal's frequently over the last 15 years or more. Sometime ago, not after retirement, we dined at Cal's and had an experience with the service feeling rushed and like they were pushing us to leave. I wrote a review back then that because of the service, was not very positive towards the restaurant. I must say that because we enjoyed the food, we returned again for dinner, Since then, Cal's has become one of our favorite places to eat. On one occasion' not long after I had written the review, the manager, Vinnie, stopped by our table to apologize for what we felt was pressure to leave. After that conversation, in our many visits to Cal's, we have never felt any pressure like that again. Good management is a plus for any restaurant and Vinnie, apologizing and making an effort with his staff to be sure that customers won't be feeling that again shows that the management and staff really about their customers. Over the last several years Cal's has become one of our favorite places to dine. The atmosphere is comfortable, the staff from management down to the rest of the employees are friendly, attentive, timely, and caring about both the customers, and the food they have ordered. My favorite meals are the chophouse salad with a tenderloin steak, the mushroom ravioli, the bolognaise, the salmon, and the redfish nouvele. Actually, we have, because it is one of our favorite restaurants, taken family and friends there and have always had a lot of positive things to say about the restaurant commenting on the service, and in particular, the taste and quality of the food they were served. If you are looking for a place to eat that has a nice atmosphere, a wide choice of entrees, reasonable prices, pizza, and a great staff. Try Cal's, you won't be disappointed in your choice.“

“We're from Wisconsin and had breakfast March 31 in your restaurant. I wish I could remember our waitress' name, but she was delightful. I had the (canned)corned beef hash omelet and loved it. I've never seen an omelet shaped the way you serve it, but again it was terrific on looks alone! You folks do a marvelous job.“

“My husband and I are from upstate New York and came here with a relative from the Massachusetts area for our first time. We were greeted with warmth and enthusiasm, which was just the beginning of a more than exceptional experience. The menu concerned us with its limited options, but alas, the quality of the food offered was by no means disappointing. The char and the fried chicken were outstanding. The service was the best we’ve ever received in our lives (and we go out frequently) , and then there was their chocolate crème brûlée. AMAZING. We highly recommend this lovely restaurant.“

“My husband and I try to visit the Delaney House at least once a year. We went last night to celebrate our 6 year anniversary. Our server, Cali M, was great. She was experienced enough as a server to know to ask us if we were celebrating anything, and made it that much more special by bringing us complimentary glasses of delicious champagne. She had the perfect balance between checking in on us while not being over-bearing or making us feel rushed. The food, as always, was a 10/10 and we even tried new cocktails which were delicious. One of our favorite spots!“

“My dad and I ate here last night before a show at Academy Music. Akasia was our server and we loved her. Our food was the best meal we have ever had together in all of our foodie ventures and we wish it was closer so we could go back. The steak tips were cut in house and resembled filet. The scallops were so good we got a second order. The salad was delicate but really great. My dad got the salmon and he is very picky on salmon, but it was incredible and he was delighted we made the choice to go there. I wish the oysters on the half shell were bigger, but the rest made up for it. My dad is in a wheelchair and everyone was super accommodating. Akasia was on point and knew we had a time crunch and accommodated that and also took some nice photos of us together. Great mock-tails and atmosphere was a 10. Hopefully one day soon we can make it back.“

“Best bagel, egg, cheese and bacon sandwich I ever ate. Great popovers and clam chowder. We stayed at River Valley Inn for 2 days and ate at the Smithsonian Cafe and Chowder House 4x! No need to go anywhere else during our vacation! They also sell a delicious prepared Coffee Milk from Our Family Farm too!“

“Food was good. Fries were not hot but so much else we did not eat them anyway. I did not read the online menu properly the prices were for take out only I did not see that below the listing. I own that it was my fault . They had erased the prices off the board maybe because Saturday night. Prices on the drinks menu were not accurate . We ordered a capacino I expected a small cup as it was priced at $2 on the menu. Was a delicious drink in a glass but was $6. Was told that was old prices but on all the menus. I was charged 6 and was told they could not credit me as the owner was not there. The drink was probably worth 6 but the menu should be correct. My fish was very good. Salad mediocre mainly just lettuce and blue cheese dressing was very bitter. We will probably give it another try. Staff very good. I will ask the prices next time.“

The Culinary Arts Department at the Smith Vocational and Agricultural High School operates a student-run restaurant three days a week, Wednesday through Friday of most weeks, from 10:45 AM to 12:30 PM. The students, under the supervision of three chef instructors, learn every aspect of food preparation and service. There is menu service on Wednesdays and Thursdays and an all you can eat buffet on most Fridays, which is currently priced at only $15.00. The menu changes weekly and is posted online. This is genuinely one of the hidden gems of the Pioneer Valley.“

“I used to go here years ago for lunch all the time, haven't been in for a visit in many years. Stopped in June of 2025, WOW! Waitress provided FAST, POLITE and GREAT service. FOOD WAS AMAZING! “Whatta brunch!!! Arrived just after 11am on a Thursday. Miss Flo was busy but not packed. We took a seat at the counter and were immediately greeted by a friendly server. Pancakes plus and an OcFLOberfest (corn beef hash, sauerkraut & thousand island dressing) omelette arrived quickly. Both were HUGE and GREAT! Ilana and Amanda were fast friendly and slightly sassy servers. The hot sauce was a fun condiment. Everything was clean. Miss Flo has a warm local friendly vibe. She is a Pioneer Valley icon that lives up to her reputation. We need to eat here more than once or twice a year!“

“Ever since I met this couple who are in the restaurant business (over 20 years ago,) I've always been a fan of their food. It's a true family restaurant with the most delicious and fresh food you'll ever taste. Their hospitality is unique and it's what help set them apart from everyone else. If you're from the local Springfield area, you certainly remember the original Olympic Restaurant with Moises & Dania, right? They were the owners to that fabulous restaurant, when it was in it's prime. Now they've returned with El Fogón de Yuyu and it's even better than I remember. I wholeheartedly recommend them. I had gone to another place first, and the ice cream was so horrible I genuinely started questioning every decision that had led me there. The texture? Criminal. The flavor? Disrespectful. My happiness? GONE.

Then I remembered my trusted Friendly’s. I walked in emotionally defeated, ordered my ice cream, and took that first bite… LIFE CHANGING. I swear the clouds parted, angels started singing, and my depression packed its bags and moved out. This wasn’t just ice cream—it was a spiritual experience, a warm hug for my soul, and possibly the greatest moment of my entire existence.

10/10. 5 stars. Would trust Friendly’s with my life. Friendly’s didn’t just serve me ice cream. Friendly’s saved me.

“The meal was good, which was expected as we do like Applebee’s. I did however feel that the portion of app french fries was very tiny. Not sure why or if that change but we do frequent multiple Applebee’s so I thought that was a little odd. With that said the waitress was extremely hospitable very friendly and had a great personality and was very interactive she made up For the dissatisfaction with portion size of the fries. They literally were about 15 fries in a little bowl, which I thought was odd. However, Neyda was amazing and definitely deserves recognition. Would recommend this Applebee’s and her as a server any day. Thank you for a great experience.“
