“We walked into this unassuming neighborhood restaurant in Bethesda after seeing rather positive reviews, and walked out pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious, flavorful, but not overwhelmingly seasoned. We loved most of our dishes especially the seafood saffron soup, sautéed shrimp with garlic, octopus, grilled squid, stuffed Portobello mushrooms. Lovely desserts got the flan con naranja and the chocolate mousse cake. Highly recommended.“

“We loved Jaleo and we think Jose Andres is wonderful - all his other restaurants and his humanitarian work-- but unfortunately we didn't love the food at Spanish Diner (apart from the croquettes & bread). It might just be that Continental/Spanish food is generally not to my taste. The gazpacho had cream and a slight bitter note; I prefer the tomato-colored light refreshing gazpacho that I've had elsewhere. The garbanzo and spinach stew was only okay, a bit bland; I plan to add spices to the portion I brought home. The other dish we ordered - roasted chicken - also didn't pop. The preparation of the food was well done; we just wanted more flavor. On the other hand, service was spot on and the atmosphere is nice.“

He was attentive, descriptive and helped create a good experience. Dan, our bartender, was magnificent. He created delectable cocktails and we also chatted along the way (we had bar seats which I highly recommend). This was very reasonably priced, we left very filled and happy. I want to give the highest possible compliments to Ian and Dan. The entire experience was perfect, largely because of the great food, but they took the experience well beyond a 1 star evening!“

“I felt welcomed as soon as I walked in. The staff was warm and inviting, and so was the decor and fragrances. I detected a hint of incense and palo santo. I recommend the hearts of palm salad, the Causa, and scallops to warm up. The fish was superbly executed, but the name of the fish escapes me. We had ours served cold (dry aged?) with the Rocoto sauce which was mild yet fantastic. The pisco sour coctail enhanced the flavors for me. My overall impression was that all flavors are somewhat mild but not boring, everything tastes super fresh; and like one at our table mentioned, you can almost taste every single ingredient but in a good way.“

“I hadn’t been here in years since they changed ownership. Looking at some of the reviews I was leery. Boy am I glad that I didn’t listen. Went here for dinner last night and everything was absolutely delicious. The fried chicken, fried catfish, lambs, crab cakes and sides of Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, collards, potato salad, and corn bread were all superb. It definitely tasted like eating at your grandmothers. The potato salad was just like my Gma’s; finely diced with celery, celery seed, and a slight tang of mustard accompanied by a slight sweetness. The collards are vegan hence no meat but were still delicious, tender, and flavorful. The drinks were delicious as well. The portion sizes were quite large with everyone having leftovers except for the lamb chops they were so delicious that my friend ate all of them. Matter of fact when she accidentally attempted to cut them with the wrong side of the knife it still went through. Couldn’t recommend more supporting this black owned business.“

“A+ for service and atmosphere! The live music/flamenco dancing was vibrant and delightful. The wait staff were friendly and attentive. As for the food, it was a hit or miss. For the tapas, the whisky pork tenderloin with potatoes was cooked well but the sauce had an odd tang to it. It may be an acquired taste and not for everyone. The grilled eggplant was soggier than expected and I don’t think I’ll get it next time. The Serrano ham and manchego cheese appetizer on the other hand, was absolutely scrumptious! The chicken and seafood paella (the reason why we chose this restaurant) was a big let down…the dish was way too salty and I couldn’t fully enjoy it without downing water. The chicken and mussels/clams however, were tender and cooked well. The churros and chocolate dip for dessert were divine.“

I ended up doing a paella tapa as well as the Argentinian steak with chimichurri paired with a lovely Malbec.Remember, these are tapas, so the plates wont be giant. Our server brought over water right away and soon after we ordered a California roll (me) and the hubby got one unagi sushi for a dollar (a special). The California roll was fresh, well rolled and really delicious, my husband said the same for the unagi. My husband also got the chicken thigh yakatori for three bucks, it was brought out hot, tender and delicious. For our entrees, we both got Tonkotsu, we added an extra egg and shared it, so we would each have one full egg in our ramen instead of just a half. The Tonkotsu was fire, the broth was hot and buttery, egg perfectly cooked and yolky, the pork was tender and flavorful and overall just great. We will definitely be back and highly recommend. “I don't think it's clear that this place is located within a hotel. So, for starters walking around trying to find the place is a bit frustrating. The food, however, was very delicious. We did the Sangria Sin Fin option for brunch. Bottomless Sangria is what made this brunch stand out from others There wasn't a dish we didn't enjoy. I was disappointed that I could not have unlimited red Sangria because it wasn't available so I had to settle for Peruvian Sangria. I do not like that a credit card is required for reservations. In fact, I almost didn't go because of this feature. It's confusing to require a credit card but it's not charged for a deposit or anything. When paying I assumed they already had my card on file since it was necessary to book but they didn't so I'm not sure of the point of requiring a credit card. Additionally, it could be the time we chose but other groups seemed to be noisier than necessary including some children screaming. We were seated in a corner away from other tables but were still shocked by the noise. Overall I'd try again sometime in the distant future.“

“Absolutely amazing dinner at El Techno for my birthday. Vibes were immaculate, birria ramen bomb was in the top 5 things I've ever eaten. Staff were friendly and helpful, but didn't hover, absolutely perfect. Margaritas were delicious. The owner, Louie, came by and introduced himself and made sure everything was great. Honestly couldn't ask for a better dinner for the price.“

“My husband and I ordered takeout for Cava Mezze and it was pretty straightforward. Very standard Mediterranean food, nothing too over the top or subpar. Everything was pretty good, I got a classic gyro and was not disappointed! My husband got the chicken skewers which were also well seasoned and yummy. My only qualm is the price point. The small container of feta dip alone was $11, and it just didn't seem like enough for that price despite it being tasty! Overall good food, but you can go to CAVA or any other standard Mediterranean place and pay half the price for a pretty similar experience!“

“What a fun place! It’s massive, has great food, lots of fantastic win and a cool vibe. Highly recommend for larger groups- we had a happy hour for a huge group— everyone comfortably spread out. The patatas bravas were absolutely amazing- super crisp with a spicy sauce on top. The yucca/plantain chips were yum and the wings were good (nothing special but great). My friend loved everything she got.“

“We had a great experience here. The complimentary bread was delicious. I got the pappardelle with Wild mushrooms and it was packed with umami flavor and the butter sauce was very unctuous. My wife got the gnocchi and she love it, the sauce had a lot of flavor. The service here was exceptional as well. We would definitely go back.“

“This place really deserves 10 stars, the food was exceptional and the service was top notch! I have been to Michelin rated restaurants that cannot compete with this place. Me and my wife came here for a wedding anniversary dinner during our visit to the cherry blossom festival staying for an extended amount of time. The first server Maher and the second server Cassie both are super professional, went above and beyond, we never felt rushed. We never had a dull moment over dinner and we never felt pushed. Next time we are in DC we will be back here!“

“Excellent, attentive, and friendly service! Food was very good but a little oily for many dishes I tried. Their tables are way too small for tapas, as of course you order multiple dishes. We were completely out of space to put the food. I also dislike when restaurants have all high top tables with high stools - not comfy to balance on, especially if you're not a small person.“

“An absolute lovely experience at Barcelona Wine Bar. The floor to ceiling windows, the lighting, the ambiance, the food options, the tapas, the beverages, the service… everything was top tier and wonderful. I highly recommend the beef empanadas, grilled chicken, olive oil pancakes, patatas, and paella. My lovely spouse and I enjoyed a mid day date here and had Bernardo & Sydney as servers who were more than accommodating and helpful. The recommendations exceeded our expectations and now we’re full and ready for a nap. Bring your loved ones here or anyone you’d love to impress. You won’t regret it!“

“Unfortunately this used to be a good restaurant but it has gone totally downhill. After telling the waiter three times I would like my steak medium and my partner steak medium rare they couldn’t get that right and when we advise them of their mistake the waiter and the manager both laughed and said o well sorry. I’m not the only one I had a friend that ate here a few weeks ago and told me it went downhill also. So they gave us a $10 discount on a $200 bill“

“I’ve been wanting to go to Cork for years, and never made it in, so I finally made a reservation for a Friday night and I’m so glad that I did. At first I didn’t even know there was an upstairs section, but we were seated upstairs and it was a very nice atmosphere. Cozy and comfortable and and excellent place to enjoy a glass of wine or have a meal. Our server was very welcoming and clearly knew his stuff. We know a little about wine but not enough to be successful, so we really appreciated the recommendations. I think we could have used a bit more attention during the night but our server was also tending to the bar patrons, so this was neither here nor there. While we did not have dinner the menu, though focused, looked excellent. My one negative comment would be related to the vintners plate (read charcuterie board) which while $24, had nearly nothing on it. However this seems to be the norm in DC these days unfortunately. Overall I would say a very nice experience and definitely would be a repeat visitor.“

“Thoroughly enjoyed the creamy pesto pasta with grilled chicken. Caesar salad was also excellent, I do wish there were more croutons though. The Rosa sauce (the star of the dish) with cheese ravioli was tasty. The kids orecchiette pasta with pomodoro was a hit.Would recommend this place. The outside patio had perfect weather.“
