He elevated this basic dish to really nice levels and there's a unique spice blend that you won't find anywhere else. This is a tough location for a business but hopefully they can survive.“

“I went by to the location in PG plaza Mall in Hyattsville when I first entered the establishment I waited a second since there was one person that was serving another customer, I was than greeted and asked what I would like. I ordered a lamb bowl and a chicken shawarma, paid for l my order then went home. When I had my bowl it was just like I ordered but when I saw the dismay of my fiancés face something appeared to be wrong. I looked at the wrap it appeared to be prepared sloppy , falling apart and runny from juices of the ingredients. He said he didn’t want it and I returned to the place to try to get a refund. To make the story short the manger of the store wasn’t of any help but staff did suggest me getting another sandwich. I reluctantly agreed despite my fiancé not wanting a sandwich because of presentation. The person who made my sandwich spoke in her native tounge with another staff and was nonchalant about the situation but Christain was eager to make things right.“

“We had the best time at KooKoo DC last night. They accommodated a table of 14 for my spouse's birthday and never let us feel like an imposition. The food was so fresh, authentic, and reasonably priced - I did a double take when we got the bill. I even felt like we went all-out with apps, drinks, and desserts! “Came for a tasting as part of Tasting Collective and was glad I did. This was truly a great experience. The 5 course tasting had 2 courses (1st & 4th) that needed to be altered as I'm a pescetarian therefore, don't eat duck. So in place of the duck paté, I was served figs and brie and in place of the duck breast I was served branzino. Each course was nicely paired with wine, again adding to this wonderful experience.

The fig and brie with the croutons was delicious, followed by the roasted pear with gouda, pecans and pomegranate sprinkles which was a delightful tasty plate. Who would think white chocolate and cauliflower purée would be delicious and pair beautifully with seared scallops? Clearly Chef Moore did and how right was he. That purée had folks at our table scraping to get all of it. The next course was a substitute dish and was beyond disappointing, especially compared to the other 3 courses. The branzino was BLAND, but the olives that were on the side were extra salty. I thought I was supposed to eat them together, but that didn't help. I couldn't even eat this course. The final course was a butterscotch pudding, a great way to end the meal/night.

Chef Moore was very welcoming. He answered questions and took pictures with the guests.

“This past Thursday (4/25), I went to the restaurant to use my birthday rewards to purchase a meal. Unfortunately, the link to retrieve my reward was not working. However, the cashier was nice enough to notify the manager and the manager gave me a discount after I showed him my email with the rewards information. This showed that the cashier and manager went above and beyond to provide exceptional customer services. And the meal, as always, was great!!!!“

The staff were all very kind given that it was my first time and I was a little clumsy figuring out what I wanted and if I was going for a bowl or pita. But the falafel pita was so good that I considered visiting twice in one day.“

“I come to this Mezeh at least 3 times a week. So much so that the employees recognize me when I come in. I am amazed to see these one star ratings. As many times as I have come in, they have been nothing but gracious and provide outstanding customer service. I read some of these one star ratings and with the exception of the delivery for the corporate affair, I question some.

As a native Ward 8 member I was elated to see Mezeh and other corporate chains coming into my community. But I also realized that there would be challenges (which is why it is so hard to keep such businesses here). I’m gone say it… some of my fellow Anacostians just are not respectful. I have seen some come in the store and because they have to pay extra for extra meat or something more that they want, they go off. I one time had to say something because it was so innapropriate and unwarranted. It’s like they try to bully the workers because they are not black.

I hate to say this but it happens too much not in just this store but others and I’m tired of seeing establishments shut down because employees don’t want to be threatened or harmed. Walmart pulled out from being over here because they were going to have to pay too much for security and the Giant has threatened to pull out as well. IHOP is closed, the 7/11 on Barry Ave closed, Subway use to stay open 24 hours but had to stop because of this craziness. We can’t keep nothing over here and it’s not the establishment, it’s us not knowing how to receive customer service. I know these are hard times but damn.

This is a great store and I have only been in Starbucks and The Smoothie store and they are trying to make it in a tough area. Good Luck yall cause I wouldn’t put up with some of this bull. Peace“

“We have been a regular visitor to this place since last 2 years. The staff truly cares about your experience, especially the owner of the restaurant is really sweet. Their falafel is to die for, one and the only place where you find such crispy and well-cooked falafels. We like their bowls and lentil soup too. Although the weather was warm for October, we chose to eat inside as friends had warned us about insects on the patio. Our server was friendly and informative. My spinach ravioli tasted homemade, and was quite rich. My partner's seafood linguine had lots of seafood among the noodles, and the marinara sauce was an excellent choice.“

“Mezeh always has great food but they were not prepared for the massive conference influx during the lunch rush. Doors need to be open for better air flow and maybe a few extra hands on staff. “I love the food. Each location a little different from the other. Food so far has been better than the service. I usually get take out/togo but this time I ate in the restaurant. The first time that I did a build your own bowl, I felt like I had been shorted because my bowl didn’t have as much as some of the other customers bowls who had ordered their prefixed bowls. The second time I went, I asked for two scoops of hummus, two scoops of spicy hummus, two scoops of Greek yogurt and I asked for extra egg plant. They pretty much gave me what I asked for, and I only had one serving of their protein, but filled my bowl up with other things., I was able to eat that over the course of the day.“

“I was amazed at how fresh the food looked. I had to wait 3 minutes for the falafel to cook which wasn't too long. I added several items to my salad which came to a reasonable amount of $13 some cents. It took 2 meals for me to eat my entire salad. I definitely would be back!!!
