“We were so excited to hear Dok Khao opened a Chevy Chase location! We used to drive to the Columbia restaurant, so having one closer to home is amazing.

The ambiance is beautiful, the drinks were excellent, and the menu is so creative. The tilapia dish is absolutely to die for and one of the best Thai meals we've had in a long time. Everything was flavorful, and the service was stellar.

“We used to be frequent guests at The Capital Grille in Chevy Chase, but it had been quite some time since our last visit. Returning felt like coming home, and our experience exceeded every expectation.

From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by the hostess, whose genuine friendliness immediately made us feel valued. The first wonderful surprise of the evening was seeing our longtime server, Gabriel, from Tunisia. Even after all this time, he remembered us, which made our return incredibly special.

Gabriel is the perfect example of outstanding hospitality. He is professional, attentive, patient, knowledgeable, and remarkably detail-oriented. He took the time to answer all of our questions about the menu, offered excellent recommendations, and anticipated every need throughout our meal. His warmth and genuine care transformed an already wonderful dinner into an unforgettable experience.

Another highlight of the evening was meeting the manager, Paulin (I apologize if I misspelled her name). She greeted us with a bright smile and such sincere kindness that we immediately felt welcomed. She introduced herself, checked on our dining experience, and encouraged us to let her know if there was anything we needed. Her professionalism, combined with her warm and caring personality, truly stood out.

While another table was celebrating a birthday, I casually mentioned that my birthday had been a few weeks earlier and joked that perhaps we should celebrate future birthdays at The Capital Grille. To our complete surprise, Paulin returned with colorful birthday confetti for our table—a thoughtful gesture that genuinely touched us. But she didn't stop there. At the end of our meal, she surprised us again with a beautifully decorated birthday dessert complete with a candle. It was such an unexpected act of kindness that made us feel truly celebrated and deeply appreciated.

Before leaving, we also had the pleasure of meeting the General Manager, Mr. Scott. He was gracious, personable, and genuinely appreciative of our compliments about Gabriel, the exceptional food, and the wonderful hospitality we had received. Taking the time to personally thank us was another example of the outstanding leadership and customer care that define this restaurant.

This was much more than an excellent meal—it was a memorable experience. The food was outstanding, the service was impeccable, and every member of the team made us feel genuinely welcome and valued.

The Capital Grille offers the elegance and sophistication of a world-class steakhouse while maintaining the warmth, personal attention, and genuine hospitality that make guests feel at home. That combination is rare, and it is what turns a wonderful dinner into a lasting memory.

“I've been to Shibuya Eatery many times, and every visit reminds me why I keep coming back. The first thing I noticed was how fresh everything tastes. A lot of places can make food look good, but here you can actually taste the quality of the ingredients. Every ingredient seems like it was chosen for a reason.

The ramen is easily one of the best I've had in the area. The broth is rich and full of flavor without being too salty, and you can tell it takes time to make. The noodles have a great texture, the toppings are always fresh, and the portions are filling without feeling excessive. I've also tried a couple of the rice bowls, which are equally as amazing. Everything tastes balanced, and each ingredient adds something to the dish instead of just taking up space.

What I appreciate most is the consistency. I've never had a meal that felt like it was rushed or disappointing. Whether I'm dining in or grabbing food to go, the quality has always been the same. The restaurant is clean, the staff is friendly, and the food comes out surprisingly fast.

There are plenty of places to get Japanese food, but Shibuya Eatery stands out because it feels like they genuinely care about what they're serving. The flavors are authentic, the ingredients are high quality, and the prices are very reasonable for what you get. It's become one of those restaurants that I recommend without hesitation because I know people will leave impressed. If you're in the Chevy Chase area and want great Japanese food made with care, this place is absolutely worth trying.”

“Food was very good. My omelet had a wide variety of fillings but was too much to finish. Toast was one slice of bread. Coffee had free refills. Fruit cup had a good assortment of melon. Total with tax was $21.45”

Hands-down the most convenient place to live as a UMD student, as it's the closest apartment off the high way and only 10 mins away from downtown silver spring!!!!”

“This place is legitimately fantastic. I’m a big fan of hole-in-the-wall office building delis (okay, it’s an admittedly unusual interest…), and this one is a great example. It’s got that perfect mashup of deli standbys like breakfast sandwiches, subs, and sandwiches, plus a bunch of things from the owner’s background - in this case, great Korean food. Likewise, the variety of snacks and drinks is similarly broad, with a lot of unusual things you don’t see many places. Too bad it’s only open on weekdays, but if you’ve got to see a specialist for some doctor’s appointment, this is a good reason to pick one at 5454 Wisconsin.”

“A huge shout out and sincere thanks to Rea, Roman, and the hardworking staff at Potomac Pizza in Chevy Chase. They went out of their way to open early to bake about 30 pizzas for takeout. Rea and Roman were organized and friendly about the big order, got everything right, prompt about getting back to me and answering questions, and just great about everything. And the pizza was DELICIOUS -- chewy crust, flavorful toppings, great sauce and cheese. Thanks to everyone at the Chevy Chase Potomac Pizza -- you and the pizza you make are terrific!”
