“If Fort Washington handed out championships for comfort food, Bangkok Golden Thai would already have a dynasty.

This has become our family’s go-to Thai restaurant, and at this point, it’s not just our favorite Thai spot—it’s one of our favorite places to eat, period. The real shocker? The prices are reasonable enough that returning feels less like treating yourself and more like making responsible life choices.

The star of the meal was the lard na, which is easily my favorite thing on the menu. I’ll admit it: when a plate of noodles arrived swimming in brown gravy, I had questions. Those questions disappeared after the first bite. The noodles were incredibly soft and comforting, and the gravy was rich, savory, and packed with flavor. It was the kind of dish that makes an entire table go quiet because everyone is too busy eating.

We also ordered the crispy pork with vegetables, crab fried rice, papaya salad, Thai iced tea, and mango sticky rice. The crispy pork was another standout—perfectly crunchy and a great contrast to the softer, saucier lard na. The crab fried rice was excellent, and the papaya salad was fresh and flavorful, but consider this a friendly public service announcement: ask for it not too spicy. The menu may call it a level 2, but that salad clearly has its own interpretation of numbers.

The Thai iced tea was smooth and refreshing, and the mango sticky rice delivered exactly what dessert should—happiness.

What I also appreciated was that there were plenty of vegetables throughout the meal, which helped balance out all the comfort-food goodness.

Final verdict: the lard na and the crispy pork with vegetables were the clear standouts, every dish delivered, and Bangkok Golden Thai has firmly secured its place in our regular rotation.

“Chicken Fried Rice from this restaurant is causing me to reevaluate Chicken Fried Rice from every other restaurant I frequent for Chicken Fried Rice. As far as my palate is concerned, they have raised the bar. And the Bangkok Beef Stew is spectacular.“

“I ran across this place on door dash and tried the drunken noodles and the flavor was so good but just a tad spicy for me. However, the flavor was so good I just had to try it again. I called and spoke with a staff member that was so nice and advised me on menu items that were not so spicy. I ordered again and OMG, it is delicious!!! “Pineapple Fried Rice has me driving from 45 minutes away... the best I've ever had. I get a few modifications and this restaurant gets me. I ordered the Pineapple Fried Rice with tofu, no shrimp (allergic to shellfish), with eggplant, and I ask for one of the staff's special Thai peppers in garlic soy sauce (he prepares it personally). They use a soy sauce with a mushroom base with little to no processed additives... They fry their tofu individually (fresh oil) so as not to transfer flavor from other meats - this pays off significantly because you get a perfectly subtle sweet flavor from the tofu that compliments the pineapple flavor and complements the texture of the dishes eggplant, tomatoes, and rice swimmingly. The presentation, in half of a pineapple, places the dish on the most fitting altar for a dish like this. Pair this dish with a Thai tea and your soul will be satisfied for the rest of the day. I enjoy this treat if a dish, love the attention to detail of my order, and their passion for their dishes is very evident in every bite I had. Buen Provecho... “The ambiance of the restaurant, Pasara, was excellent: quiet, impressive, well decorated, and clean place. The service was good and quickly served us. The food was excellent and the reason why I gave this place 4 stars. We stopped here for a brief & small dinner of appetizers before going to the movies. We ordered summer rolls and calamari. The food was well prepared. The calamari was the best I ever had. The summer rolls were good but not the best I ever had.
Two appetizers and a soft drink with 20% tip for $37 . Fair prices for two medium size appetizers and a Diet Coke. These were the highlights of our visit here.

The downside:

Glasses & dishwater looked old. Scratch or wear marks on rims of glasses.

The ice water they gave us tasted like it came from a faucet or unfiltered.

There were no happy hour drink specials or dining specials.

Service was quick to seat us yet slow in taking our orders.

Even though the calamari was the best I ever had and the highlights of this restaurant, I was not compelled to re-visit this place as soon as possible like other restaurants in the past.

There are other Thai places in the area that offer excellent prices for excellent & larger quantities of food with dining specials. Yet this place is convenient and close to the movie theater and stores . The food is excellent to good for fair prices as well.“

“Top quality Chinese food!!! Wow- don’t judge this well-hidden gem by its cover. While it doesn’t look like much on the outside, the quality here is unbeatable! We dined in and had the best Chinese food that we’ve had in the area! The food was fresh and seasoned exceptionally well. The recipes are genuine and hearty. The gentleman who appears to own and run the establishment is incredibly kind and so attentive. We called asking about orange chicken, decided not to order it, but he gave us a dish on the house to try it anyways!“

“We ate here on a Thursday night, arriving at 7pm. We were seated upstairs and it was very warm in the upstairs seating area. They did turn on a fan type device after we were seated.
The food was excellent. However, the service was slow. We were pretty much ignored the first 15 minutes we were there and not asked if we wanted a cocktail or appetizer.
We finally place our order and received our meals after being there approximately 40 minutes.
Again, the food was excellent. My wife had the Yellow Curry and I had the Drunken Noodles with Shrimp.
We walked from our lodging, but parking might be a challenge.“
