“Went there this past weekend and tried them for the first time!!! Was greeted soon as I walked in. A tough bag lady that was waiting for her order said I had to try the seafood Mac and cheese and she wasn’t wrong. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 The good brother running the store also let me try a few other sides. All were amazing so I had to choose but I wanted to try all of them. I got the vegan drumettes, with the vegan ribs, seafood Mac and cheese and the collard greens. All tasted AMAZING!!!! I also ordered the mint tea and the ginger tea. Amazing. This was the Newark, De location on Main Street. I’ll definitely be back. Thanks for hospitality and the great food.“

“There's a reason Rose Ave usually has a line out the door. This is one of the best bakeries in DC, with a somewhat limited selection compared to other bakeries. They have one of the best breakfast sandwiches in the city, egg and cheese on a garlic croissant type roll. Super rich and will definitely leave your hands covered in butter. The ube kouign amann is incredible and the donuts are both delicious and unique. They have great coffee and a small selection of cakes and slices of cake as well.“

“I will always seek out a Levain! Their gluten free, vegan chocolate chip with walnuts is incredible. The chocolate melts in your mouth, no matter how long these cookies have been at room temp. It’s small inside the store so just don’t plan on having room to sift down inside.“

“No other bakery like Seylou. We travel in to the city every weekend to eat here. The staff is so kind and feels like an extension of our family. They’ve taken my child behind the scenes and shown him how grains are killed and bread is baked. I could not ask for a better community and diet staple.“

“It was my first time going to this place , the staff can try to be more welcoming and pleaseant and help they clients to order , I had to take my mask off to speak and let them know what i wanted and as i was ordering I felt like i was being rushed to order , the food was tasting but tge owner needs to change the way the food is charged , I was charge for each separate item this is not a place where you order yourself a complete meal for a full charge , the food was delicious but I would not go back and another turn off in the bakery area they had flies around the sweet bread .“

“I've been to Dama a few times and honestly it's the best Ethiopian food in the DMV. The service is always quick and the food is so delicious.

The harissa sourdough with black sesame crust was one of the best sourdoughs I’ve had in the US. Same for the almond croissant - insanely crunchy, buttery, not too sweet, with an almost custard like almond paste (devoured before we took a photo).“

“Not sure if they are under new ownership or changed their recipes but they have consistently had the freshest, tangiest sourdough loaves. Got one today and they were unable to slice it in store and it’s very dry and doesn’t have the usual sourdough texture. Bummer if this is indeed the new fresh baguette…“

the bacon was super thick and delicious...of course the biscuits themselves were so so good. tea latte is a great option for those who don't want coffee, and the gravy is vegetarian & looks just like regular sausage gravy. 10/10 would recommend this place!!“

Such a treat if you’re looking for a mid-day lunch, coffee or a snack. They also have craft cocktails and a happy hour. Definitely check them out!“

“Amazing bakery. All the cookies I had were super high quality even after I ate them a day later in the microwave. These cookies are very tall, with a warm soft center and crunchy exterior. I got the regular chocolate chip, which has a lot of chocolate chips. I also got the rocky road and Caramel coconut chocolate chip cookie which were both also great. High price but even higher quality and value. Highly recommend this place if you’re in the area.“

I found them online and placed a last-minute cake order for something a bit complicated, something other bakers had said they couldn’t do (or would need more time to pull off). I was very lucky they had a little extra time in their schedule before the weekend and agreed to take the order.
Since I had never used them before and it wasn’t a referral, I was a little nervous (I even almost bought backup cupcakes from Wegmans — I’m so glad I didn’t!). But when the cake arrived, I was so impressed. They did an even better job than I’d hoped — they really nailed Mimikyu! And the cake tasted great, too. The birthday guests were impressed, my kid was thrilled, and honestly? So was I.

“Rolling Sloane did an amazing job on my daughter’s mermaid birthday cake!! She did a beautiful purple, pink and blue glitter frosting with adorable sugar cookie shells around the side and a mermaid tail sugar cookie for the top. It was exactly what my daughter wanted! “The atmosphere and service were great! Also nestled in a cute part of town. I think I would have loved if this place had a bathroom. There are so many drink options and you have the ability to sit-in and enjoy your treats/ drink, but without a bathroom, it’s difficult to give this place a 5 star review. I also wish the gf items would have been clearly separated like the vegan ones were. I felt like I had to struggle to find the items they had since it didn’t match the menu online. But super grateful they had something gf to offer. I’d love a gf biscuit/ scone to add to what you already offer + more macron flavors.“
