“Filo cafe popped up on my Instagram and decided to give it a try. Loved all the food we ordered! We got the Kamayan boodle with lechon kawali and tocino then with pancit and lumpia. We also ordered the taho and halohalo. Maymay also offered great service. Will definitely be back!“

“We had the best time at KooKoo DC last night. They accommodated a table of 14 for my spouse's birthday and never let us feel like an imposition. The food was so fresh, authentic, and reasonably priced - I did a double take when we got the bill. I even felt like we went all-out with apps, drinks, and desserts! The owner was also so kind - we just felt so cared for the whole time and can't wait to visit again.“

“Washington rang me up and was so kind and you can tell he loves taking care of guests at Maman. The vanilla cloud cookie was so yummy along with Oprah’s fave - kitchen sink cookie. Such a treat if you’re looking for a mid-day lunch, coffee or a snack. They also have craft cocktails and a happy hour. Definitely check them out!“

“I wish this was my neighborhood coffee. The staff are so lovely. One refilled my personal water bottle for me.
Also the food is delicious, there’s good variety and the seating is comfy. My only complaint is the water faucets were really hot last time I visited but maybe that was a fluke.
Ugh, I may need to move to Columbia Heights so I can visit more often.“

“Charming bakery and café with a good assortment of baked goods and bubble tea. Everything we've had here has been fantastic and affordable. It's a family run place too which is always better than a chain. Hope this place gets the business it deserves.“
“What an absolutely lovely experience that my wife and I had at this very cool cafe/restaurant. First, the service was lovely; our server was a beautiful young lady with a ready/striking smile! The omelettes were awesome. We both had fresh pastries w/ coffees and we were just blown away with the freshness and taste. This eatery is super clean, the lighting is amazing; just a great experience for us on our visit to the D.C. area. Highly recommened.“

“I love the atmosphere of this place. When you enter La Cosecha, you’re welcomed by a variety of restaurants and small local businesses — it feels vibrant and creative.
But I’m focusing on Café Unido, because this coffee comes from my home country, Panama. So every time I’m in Washington, I have to stop by.
The space is filled with beautiful natural light coming through the large windows facing the street — perfect for enjoying a slow moment with a cup of coffee. The aroma and flavor are exactly what I expect from good Panamanian coffee: rich, smooth, and full of character.
I believe they could take even more advantage of how special it is to have a Panamanian coffee franchise in Washington — it deserves to be highlighted and promoted more. I truly hope they open more locations around the city so more people can experience it.
I tried the Caramel Latte, and it was delicious. If you like my pictures, give a follow on IG: @framinizingdiary“

“One of my favorite coffee shops in DC!! Tucked away in the outskirts of Adams Morgan, Yerevan may not look like much from the outside, but this hidden gem is an absolute delight. The staff is all super friendly, and they have the most incredible selection of pastries, coffee, and tea. I have probably tried half of their pastry case, and I continue to be impressed with each and every item. I absolutely adore their homestyle baklava -- the phyllo dough is perfectly crispy and soaks up the honey and nut mixture beautifully, and the dessert is simultaneously decadent and not overly sweet. The honey nugget is a great little sweet bite, and is the perfect gluten-free treat or small pick-me-up, and the honey cake is absolutely incredible. It's a smidge overly sweet (as the main flavor is, as the name implies, honey), but it still manages to be amazing.
Beyond their lovely sweets, their drinks are incredible. They have one of my favorite matcha lattes in DC, as well as a matcha rose latte that is perfect when you're looking for a hint of spring. Their coffee is also wonderful, with a great nutty aroma and deep, robust flavor. It's also served in the cutest little Armenian mugs, which really adds to the overall experience.
The space is shockingly large, with 4-5 larger tables and a couple 2-person tables, all beautifully arranged with cute little flower pots and throw pillows. They even have a small stack of books and board games if you get bored of yapping and need something else to keep you entertained. It's the perfect, cozy little spot to either read, work, or catch up with friends.“

“Everything about this place feels magical and beautiful. The staff are kind, welcoming, and create such a positive atmosphere. The drinks are absolutely delicious, making the whole experience a joy from start to finish. It’s also deeply encouraging to see a business that openly stands in solidarity with the Palestinian people and against genocide. Places like this give so much hope. 🇵🇸🫶🏻“

“Today I had the best fried chicken sandwich since Kevin Tien’s Perfect seasoning—a little heat but not too much, smashed avocado, coleslaw, and chicken that had just the right amount of crispy covering that kept the chicken moist. I can’t wait to return for another.“

“Absolutely love this place. Neighborhood institution. No one else in the area does breakfast diner food in the area, and they do it perfectly. Pancakes, breakfast sandwiches, everything. And then its great Caribbean cuisine all day long. Can't recommend it enough.“

“Decadent. My first pavlova ever and it was pretty good. Cookie sandwich is very dark chocolate with pecans and a nice contrast to sweetness of pavlova. Was skeptical that the gluten free part of the other pastry would be good but it was fine :)“

“I stopped in with friends before a event Sunday evening. The staff was warm and welcoming. I had the lentil sambusas and a peanut-infused coffee at the staff’s recommendation. The food was fast and delicious- the sambusas were warm and spicy, and the peanut coffee was delicious! In a kind gesture, the chef sent over a sampling of sushi to our table. Fresh and refreshing, the sushi was a nice complement to my sambusas and hot beverage. I’m not on this side of town often, but now I have a reason to come back.“

“Nice ambience, friendly staff and vegan croissant and pumpkin/carrot cake that actually taste nice. Let’s not get carried away, it’s not as nice as a really good French croissant made with butter, but that’s probably impossible. Several other vegan options for breakfast like avocado toast and breakfast bowls. No English breakfast tea or soya milk, but they did have Earl Grey and several other types of non-dairy milk. I will definitely be back next time I’m in the area.“

I got a Chai latte and veggie omelet which were affordable and very tasty! I’d highly recommend stopping in if you’re in the area“

“I almost don't want to review it for fear of this hidden gem being overtaken by hype and becoming packed. However, it would be a disservice to not support the good people at Amen Cafe, so I will. This quaint, lowkey spot, tucked in the corner of Georgia Avenue and easy to walk by, is a MUST visit. The hospitality is unlike most cafes. They're attentive, kind, and make you feel secure in a home away from home feel. The Ethiopian coffee is some of the richest and boldest in the city, and if you want a huge wake up, get the ginger coffee. The fresh juice is refreshing and revitalizing, and always hits the spot. The pastries and sandwiches are solid as well, but by far if you're going to visit, get the Ful or Ful special, its a beautiful, rich spread that is my personal go to. I didn't even know I liked ful and now I'm hooked. I tried other cafes, no one in the city makes better ful than here. So yeah, I love my cafe, I hope it never leaves. Ameseghnalew“

“Great place: friendly staff, good drinks, and excellent service.
I loved the vibe in this café. It’s the kind of spot where you can read a book, work on your laptop, or meet up with friends.
Jesse had a great attitude and made a perfect matcha. Thank you!
The music selection was good, and the volume was just right. I usually leave cafés if the music is too distracting, but that definitely wasn’t the case here.
This one’s officially on my list of favorite cafés and recommendations 🤍“

“Takoma Bev Co is the neighborhood gem where great coffee meets greater people. Davis serves up precision with a smile, Artur brings chill mastery to every pour, and Eli? Pure charisma, while James brings welcoming energy. The staff is jovial, the vibe is unmatched, and the drinks hit every time. Let’s not forget about those killer gluten free options. A big shout out to the back of the house for consistent great sandwiches #italiancoldcut (if you know, you know) and of course the paprika aioli-big dippers only!“

“Ann’s Cafe is a hidden gem that delivers everything you’d want from a classic mom-and-pop spot—delicious food, friendly service, and a cozy atmosphere. Whether you’re dining in for a quick breakfast or grabbing lunch to go, they make sure you leave satisfied. Crispy Bacon too, excellent!
The menu is simple but packed with flavor, with fresh, well-prepared dishes that remind you of home cooking. The portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, and the service is warm and welcoming. It’s the kind of place where the staff remembers your name and your usual order.
If you're looking for a no-frills, high-quality meal made with care, Ann’s Cafe is the place to go. Highly recommend stopping by for a quick bite or a relaxing meal!“
