“Feels about the closest you might get to a convenience store/deli that you might find in South Korea, in the DMV. The bulgogi wrap was incredible and also got a random wasabi rice snack thing that was super tasty and gave me that satisfying brain stem tingly feeling.
It’s almost like a speakeasy or something because you need to walk into the office building to the right of the Starbucks and then walk down a hallway on your left to locate it.“

“We had the best time at KooKoo DC last night. They accommodated a table of 14 for my spouse's birthday and never let us feel like an imposition. The food was so fresh, authentic, and reasonably priced - I did a double take when we got the bill. I even felt like we went all-out with apps, drinks, and desserts! The owner was also so kind - we just felt so cared for the whole time and can't wait to visit again.“

“I ordered a cake for my son’s first birthday, and I couldn’t be happier with the result! Wendy went above and beyond. It was clear she put a lot of care and attention into the cake. The cake was not only beautiful but also incredibly delicious. It was a big hit at the birthday party, and many guests complimented how tasty it was. Thank you so much for helping make my son’s first birthday so special. I highly recommend Morning My Day to anyone looking for a perfect cake for their celebrations!!“

“My two kids and I go here almost ever Sunday. The croissants are a huge hit with the kids and I'm obsessed with their Farro Salad (the dressing is very similar to mole sauce). Lattes are quite delicious as well.
Pricing is surprisingly reasonable for Georgetown which is a nice plus.
I really wish they would open a location at the Village Green in Crofton, MD. It would be a huge hit there and I have family that would like to see it there.
Some weekends it just gets too busy but I've only decided to give up once or twice. The host is honest about the wait (if there is one) - up to you if can handle the wait they give you.
Kid-friendliness: They have a great kids menu and offerings BUT we tend to just pick pastries from the counter. This is the better way to go because it is about all they can eat and there is always some decadent morsel for me to hoover up when they get full.“

“This place is perfect, right down to the soap in their bathrooms. They always have an amazing, affordable, diverse selection of wines. The food is also incredible. The staff is always friendly, never pretentious, and never fail to give a good suggestion. (Shout out to Gaile, they might be my favorite server of all time.) As a young person, this is an amazing place to get into wine. The owners, Jackie and Philippe, are fantastic and welcoming hosts. I am a bit of a regular and they are truly lovely people. It is a CRIME that its not the most popular spot in Arlington.“

“Amazing place, all four visits have been delicious, and incredible. The dishes are so beautiful they could be in magazines…. But they’re far better in my belly! I absolutely love this place, heading there for the fifth time later today 😊“

“One of my favorite coffee shops in the metropolitan area. The quality of the product is excellent. The aroma is fabulous and rich. There’s always room for improvement, however. Once I ordered a latte that came out Luke warm which I did not appreciate but they remade the drink. Another time I was charged for alternative milk because they ran out of whole milk, which I didn’t think was nice. But other than that, the coffee is excellent, and the staff are nice, so I visit regularly.“

“It felt like a beautiful fall afternoon. Where only a cup of mocha would make it better. I walked to a quaint coffee house at a corner of two roads in a V, across trees in orange and red. 8 green chairs and 2 brown benches put up in small circles under a canopy. There was a cute patio with string lights across, allowing just enough warm sunlight through horizontal patterns. Plants breathing in as they had been there forever. Murmurs and faint conversations followed.
I opened a glass door to enter as a bell above me rang. There were 3 baristas behind a counter creating art , soaking in some music. There was a huge menu on a chalk wall which I chose not to read. I knew what I wanted.
I walked to the girl with a huge smile behind a billing screen on the other side of the counter,
“I feel special”, I said.
“We have these 3 special drinks available today”, she said.
I looked at the 3 drinks and it just didn’t click.
“Do you like Matcha”, she asked.
“I like matcha”, I answered.
“We have a matcha inspired tea.”
“I like tea, but today feels like a coffee kind of fall afternoon. Can you make me a mocha?!”, I asked.
“Hmmm… Let’s get you a special Mocha! Maybe a baklava latte but fused for chocolate”
I liked what was going on in an artist’s head. Today felt special. I wanted that original piece. I wanted this artist’s monalisa.
The Baristas – an ensemble of 3 – had a quick discussion. They ran thru the flavor profile of this new drink. With precision, he blended coffee, with oat milk & chocolate. I stood by and watched, my drink being made with special detail. And to finish it my drink had a latte art specialist. I breathed in anticipation.
They placed my mug on a glass counter.
“Here is your drink, let us know how you like it.”
I carefully threaded the coffee mug with two hands to my lips & took a sip.
“It tastes like a beautiful fall afternoon”“

“YouEBe Cafe in DC is one of those places you just want to hang out in. The vibe is super cozy and welcoming, with a mix of modern and homey decor that makes you feel right at ease. Think soft lighting, comfy chairs, and cool artwork on the walls. It's the kind of spot where you can easily spend a couple of hours catching up with friends, getting some work done, or just enjoying some “me time.”“

Their tea was perfect, and I couldn’t resist trying some of their desserts—absolutely amazing. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff made the experience even better. Definitely worth checking out!
I cannot wait to check out Borek’s lunch and dinner menus!“

“I’ve been to hundreds of delis over the past 40 years and this one did it right- crispy fries but not burned, just right toasted wheat bread, real chicken breast and fresh green avocado on the sandwich. Portion not too big or small, friendly service, clean bright interior. I knew it was authentic when I saw the Mexican Cholula hot sauce bottle on the table. They just got it all right for me on a quiet weds afternoon, well done!“

“Highly recommend!! Am a biggg fan of their iced lattes (they use the best crunchy ice and great coffee) and friends have said great things about their chai! For non-coffee oriented people, they have a large selection of juices and smoothies available, as well as various pastries and snacks!
The vibes and atmosphere are also so comforting-- The baristas have always been very warm and kind, and will remember you if you come back more than once! Have also seen the owner in quite often, but still aspiring to meet Lulu one day!
They have a selection of imported goods like Nablus soap, small Palestinian crafts from local artists, and a shelf of dog treats and other items for dog-owners! The cafe is also dog friendly and has water for dogs out and about this summer!
I've never had any problems getting a seat indoors to sit or work (they do have wifi!) but if you have a larger party (like 7+), they also have a decently sized back patio with a nice mural and more outdoor seating out front!
Other perks: free fruit-infused water, community billboard (has info on various pro-Palestine actions), nice decor + art + music, and ATM!
Wheelchair accessibility: Unfortunately not wheelchair accessible; the front entrance requires going up a set of 10 or so stairs“

“Was there on Labor Day late morning. Very busy but found a nearby parking spot and a good table. All good except our salad entrees were both over dressed (too much dressing) . Reminder to get dressing on side. Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere. All good. Will come back soon.“

“One of my favorite coffee shops in DC!! Tucked away in the outskirts of Adams Morgan, Yerevan may not look like much from the outside, but this hidden gem is an absolute delight. The staff is all super friendly, and they have the most incredible selection of pastries, coffee, and tea. I have probably tried half of their pastry case, and I continue to be impressed with each and every item. I absolutely adore their homestyle baklava -- the phyllo dough is perfectly crispy and soaks up the honey and nut mixture beautifully, and the dessert is simultaneously decadent and not overly sweet. The honey nugget is a great little sweet bite, and is the perfect gluten-free treat or small pick-me-up, and the honey cake is absolutely incredible. It's a smidge overly sweet (as the main flavor is, as the name implies, honey), but it still manages to be amazing.
Beyond their lovely sweets, their drinks are incredible. They have one of my favorite matcha lattes in DC, as well as a matcha rose latte that is perfect when you're looking for a hint of spring. Their coffee is also wonderful, with a great nutty aroma and deep, robust flavor. It's also served in the cutest little Armenian mugs, which really adds to the overall experience.
The space is shockingly large, with 4-5 larger tables and a couple 2-person tables, all beautifully arranged with cute little flower pots and throw pillows. They even have a small stack of books and board games if you get bored of yapping and need something else to keep you entertained. It's the perfect, cozy little spot to either read, work, or catch up with friends.“

“Wow! Now I understand why people were in and out of this place. The quality of the pie is very good! They have savory pies and sweet pies. They also have quiche. $9-12 for a slice and $40+ for the entire pie. Fair for the quality/quantity in my opinion. I had the apple crumble. Just perfect for me. Not too sweet. Also, the guy serving us was very kind and made us feel welcome and at home. Will definitely be back to try out some other flavors.“

“The staff was very friendly, helpful, and overall amazing. The person who helped us gave good recommendations. Some of the things were a bit overpriced for what you’re getting, but they did have interesting food and drink options.
Parking is horrible, but that’s to be expected in Union market. there were a lot of people doing work on their laptops but other than that, there was a pretty good amount of space to be seated if you could find it.“

“I stopped in with friends before a event Sunday evening. The staff was warm and welcoming. I had the lentil sambusas and a peanut-infused coffee at the staff’s recommendation. The food was fast and delicious- the sambusas were warm and spicy, and the peanut coffee was delicious! In a kind gesture, the chef sent over a sampling of sushi to our table. Fresh and refreshing, the sushi was a nice complement to my sambusas and hot beverage. I’m not on this side of town often, but now I have a reason to come back.“

“We had breakfast here and had a mix of bagels and croissants. All were excellent. The bagel I had with cream cheese and it was perfectly toasted with the chewy texture you expect from a great bagel.
Filling was plentiful too.
My daughter’s bacon bagel was a little light on the bacon but she really enjoyed it. Also several items our kids wanted were out of stock which the server promptly removed from the menu.
One other thing to point out is that the seating is quite limited - not much they can do about that but if you want to dine in you may struggle to get a seat.
Other than that it was great value and delicious!“

“Visited the café today! Loved the delectable and creative menu, the warm service, and the beautiful, cozy interior. We enjoyed the inasal, tocino, and ube latte (complete with delicate latte art) courtesy of Sun and Stars Coffee. Our kid was thrilled she could enjoy an ube steamer, too-- and didn't want to stir her drink because she found the art (Hiraya's logo in this instance) so beautiful. If you want reimagined, creative, and elevated Filipino cuisine where the flavors simultaneously bring back sensory memories of the comfort food of your childhood, this is the place for you. Can't wait to return!“
