“Chicken kaarage was the star, battered nicely and crisped to perfection. The yuzu mayo was bright and creamy and paired perfectly with the chicken. The spicy ramen was ok, I ordered extra mushroom and thought the noodles were well cooked. The broth was very rich but felt like it was lacking some acidity to cut through the fattiness. We got in line around 4 pm on a Friday and were the second party to be seated, and the line started to grow quickly around 4:30“

I am originally from Oregon so it was my first time ever being here. I got really hungry and I stay home alone due to family leaving. But I was craving sushi so I ordered from here. I ordered 1 potsticker and got one for free. Then a shrimp tempura roll and I ended up getting a free cheesecake and salad. This genuinely made my day since I’ve had so many bad days and depression. This has improved my mood by so much. The food was amazing too! I am definitely going to order again during my vacation. I recommend this place. Thank you so much’“

“I’ve been coming here for over a year now, and they never disappoint!! I’ve tried all the noodle options they have, and one thing I love most about this place is that I can choose the soup base and the type of noodles I want!!

I’ve also tried most of their rolls, and they’re all delicious!! One thing I especially love about this place is that they actually know how to prepare Ikura. It doesn’t smell fishy at all and tastes fantastic!

“If you’re a fan of authentic Japanese comfort food, Kajiken in Falls Church is a spot you absolutely shouldn’t miss.

We started the evening with Gyoza and Takoyaki, and they were the perfect way to begin the meal. The gyoza were nicely crisped on the outside with juicy, flavorful filling, while the takoyaki were warm, soft, and savory — a classic street-food favorite done right.

For my main dish, I ordered the Teriyaki Tori, and it truly stood out. The chicken had a wonderful aroma and a beautifully grilled texture with a slightly crispy bite on the outside while remaining juicy inside. You can really tell it was grilled with care and precision. The flavor was incredibly satisfying and unique — honestly, I’ve had chicken dishes in many places, but it’s hard to find one quite like this. Paired with the noodles, the combination was rich, comforting, and perfectly balanced.(And if you’re not a noodles fan, you can easily ask to swap the noodles for rice.)

My husband ordered the Sukiyaki, which was warm, savory, and deeply comforting — the kind of dish that makes a dinner feel complete.

To end the evening, we treated ourselves to dessert: Matcha Crepe Cake with Matcha Ice Cream, and Taiyaki with Vanilla Ice Cream. As someone who truly loves matcha, I have to say the matcha flavor here is the real deal — smooth, fragrant, and beautifully balanced without being overly sweet. The crepe cake layers were delicate and light, and paired with the matcha ice cream it was absolutely delightful. The taiyaki with vanilla ice cream was also a perfect sweet finish.

From the appetizers to dessert, everything felt thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor. A wonderful dining experience overall — we’ll definitely be coming back again.

“Really nice homy spot for ramen. Used to be a go to but something changed when they rebranded to their current name. The broth and other food hasn’t been quite as good as it used to be and the menu options have changed slightly. I hope they regain their footing so it becomes as good as it was when it was Zao Stamina.“

They treat the customers like family, they remember my wife and I when we come in and always have a welcoming smile on their faces. Prices are very reasonable. Quality is always high. “Let me tell you about this awesome ramen place! I placed an order for Miso Ramen through Uber Eats and when I got to the Grace st location I was told I put in the order for the wrong location. Well I just accepted that I made the mistake/would eat the cost but Hirro (I believe he’s the owner) remade my order without hesitation. I’d truly accepted that was not going to have my food (I’d been having a terrible day) but his kindness & customer made all the difference!! It was not how I expected it to be but was good nonetheless. The protein in it was cooked pretty nicely and tender. The herbs had some brown spots but we're still edible. “Tried Kusshi in Bethesda recently and overall had a really good experience. The restaurant has a modern atmosphere without feeling too loud or crowded, and the location in Woodmont Triangle makes it a nice spot for dinner before walking around downtown after. Sushi tasted fresh and presentation was really well done. You can tell they pay attention to quality instead of just rushing plates out.

We ordered a mix of rolls, appetizers, and drinks and honestly everything came out pretty quickly. The crispy rice and specialty rolls were probably my favorite part of the meal. Staff was friendly and checked in often without hovering too much which I appreciated.

Prices are definitely on the higher side compared to casual sushi spots, but that’s kind of expected for the area and quality level. Overall a really solid place for date night, dinner with friends, or just when you want sushi that feels a little more upscale than average.“
