“I've been trying to find a place that has great healthy tasty food and this place is it. Great selection and when you order online it's quick and headache free. Great quality ingredients. Please note I have not had an issue with my online order as you nay have with other establishments.“
“One Michelin star and 2023 James Beard best chef in America. I got the Vernal (early spring) tasting menu, which is prepared vegetarian or vegan. Everything tasted delicious, but for me the pumpkin seed gnocchi with the mushroom ragout really stands out on the menu. The folks at this restaurant really care about sustainability (like having plates made out of pressed used wine bottles). I also recommend the wine pairing. Service is top notch. This is a restaurant you should not miss when visiting Washington DC.“
“We had the best time at KooKoo DC last night. They accommodated a table of 14 for my spouse's birthday and never let us feel like an imposition. The food was so fresh, authentic, and reasonably priced - I did a double take when we got the bill. I even felt like we went all-out with apps, drinks, and desserts! The owner was also so kind - we just felt so cared for the whole time and can't wait to visit again.“
“Super service coupled with fantastic authentic food. Easily the best Indian place in this area that we've had.Edit - if anyone is particularly craving a very spicy curry, go for the Vindaloo. We just went again today, March 10, 2024 and had that for the first time and it is phenomenal!“
“Nice restaurant, hostess needs to be more polite since we where there with a reservation for 3 GTD and she told us she found it but then she said she found it, food can be better, the server I don’t remember her name but it was Latina Súper friendly and provide us a drinks recommendation.“
“In town visiting my daughter she made a reservation for us. Really cute decor. We arrived during happy hour had delicious potato skins, so flavorful. I enjoyed the jackfruit entree, big serving. Lots of unique choices with many gluten free options. I did not order a cocktail but they have a good variety. Service was excellent friendly, explained items on the menu, pointed out favorites etc. would definitely go back.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free items“
“I had an amazing time at Abuare. After my haircut at the lady clipper next door, I walked past their happy hour sign and gave them a try. They made this amazing sangria from scratch and just happened to have the beautiful pink tulips sitting by.“
“We arrived promptly for our 7:15 PM reservation. We were seated right away. Upon sitting at the table, my mom noticed that a section of the table was not clean. She told the host, and he returned with a wipe. He gave my mom the wipe, for her to clean the table. We were too excited about our very first experience at an vegan restaurant to make a fuss. We started off with some cocktails and appetizers. The bang bang broccoli was a hit! The sushi was ok and everyone enjoyed Thier cocktails, despite the excessive amount of ice. Every one enjoyed their entrées. I had the chick n waffles, which I really enjoyed. We even order dessert! The brownie was so moist and delicious on its own. The ice cream was a added treat. Our server was really sweet and knowledgeable about the menu.We will definitely be back for brunch as well as check out the other two Planta in the DMV.“
“One of the best vegetarian fast food restaurants that serves delicious falafel is "shouk". The falafel made with a perfect blend of chickpeas, herbs, and spices, resulting in a flavorful and crispy exterior with a moist and tender interior. The texture is just right, neither too dry nor too mushy. Each bite is packed with a burst of flavors that will leave you wanting more. The falafel is also gluten-free, making it suitable for those with dietary restrictions. The presentation of the falafel is also impressive. It is served in a warm pita bread, accompanied by a variety of fresh vegetables, such as lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, and pickles. The falafel is topped with a creamy tahini sauce that adds a tangy and nutty flavor to the dish. The service is excellent, with friendly and knowledgeable staff who are always ready to assist you in choosing the best options for your dietary preferences. The restaurant has a clean and inviting atmosphere, making it a great place to enjoy a quick and satisfying meal. Overall, The shouk go-to place for the best vegetarian fast food falafel. Their falafel is flavorful, made with high-quality ingredients, and served with fresh and delicious accompaniments.“
“The service was impeccable. The staff were all extremely friendly, kind, and professional. The food came out in a very timely manner and every interaction with the staff displayed the restaurant’s deep interest in ensuring the best experience for all of its customers. We will be coming back again for the amazing dining experience.“
“Another one of those spots I love that has one thing they specialize in, and do extremely well. I had the sandwich and it’s just simple, tasty food, nothing fancy, nothing bad. Everything was the right portion, and I really have no complaints. The fries were also great and seasoned super well. Everything is pretty inexpensive to boot. There’s no space to eat inside so you’ll have to take it to go.“
“This was BY FAR the best dosas and Idli we have had in years! Chef Paul is amazing and he told me he doesn’t believe in catering or delivery because South Indian food is best served hot and fresh and I couldn’t agree more! The Idlis melted in my mouth. The dosas were just perfect - the masala and chutney and sambhar -10/10! Go - no run to this place!“
“What fast/casual place does hand made tortillas?!? Delicious and interesting food, chill vibes/staff, and celiac safe! 11/10, will come back and try the rest of the menuVegetarian options: Tons of options, all of which are incredibleDietary restrictions: Celiac safe!!!! Always great to not worry“
“I recently had the pleasure of dining at elfegne Ethiopian restaurant in d.c and it was a delightful experience. The cozy ambiance and friendly service set the stage for a memorable meal. The Ethiopian dishes were full of flavor and authenticity. I especially loved the injera and tibs – they were cooked to perfection. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, adding to the overall wonderful dining experience. I highly recommend elfegne Ethiopian restaurant for anyone looking to enjoy delicious Ethiopian cuisine in D.C“
“First off- the service here is great! The Monday evening manager was one of the friendliest people I've met at a pizza joint and he was very accommodating! I love that they have vegan and veggie options. My kids didn't come with me this evening, but when they do come, the staff has always been so friendly and open to listening to their crazy pizza toppings ideas! Kiddos to the staff who work here!“
“The food tastes very good. I was surprised there weren't more people dining in here, but whatever. it made service very quick. Falafel tastes really good, and I really like how they package up their sandwiches. I do wish the pita was warmed (it seemed cold), but everything else was great. The fries have a unique spice on them which gave it a flavor I never had (in a good way).“
“Great food and attentive service. Plenty of options for vegetarians across all courses. The noise level gets very high though with a full house. It is not surprising given the cozy ambience of the place but still irks. I will look for a mid-week reservation the next time around and avoid Fridays / weekends.“
“It's been so exciting to see an entirely plant-based concept be so successful and expanding so rapidly and now that I have visited I absolutely see why. This was one of the best meals I've had in a while. My friend and I had been dying to try their plant-based sushi and not only did it blow us away but the other dishes we tried were equally as incredible. Here's what we got for two people. We were quite full and took some leftovers: - ahi watermelon nigiri (2 pieces) x 2: If you didnt know this was made of watermelon you could absolutely mistake it for the real thing. The texture is mind blowing and the flavor is on point. Amazing way to start the meal (and end it because we ended up ordering another round to finish our meal) - unagi eggplant nigiri (2 pieces) x 2: So delicious. Definitely must order. The eggplant is super tender, just like eel. - spicy tuna roll: we ordered the hand roll but I think the server misheard so we ended up with the maki but it wasn't a big deal and i wasn't upset to get to try their take on maki rolls. I think their rice could use some work but this was still tasty! - Dan Dan noodles: incredible. Our server advised us to get the Dan Dan noodles over the Singapore noodles entirely because of the saucy-ness of this dish and he did not steer us wrong. These noodles are drowning in sauce (in the best way) Even though it's a peanut sauce it was perfectly balanced and creamy. The noodles themselves had a great chew and the use of kamut (a grain) in the dish as a substitute for the traditional ground pork was inspired. - bang bang broccoli: broccoli has never tasted this good. I mean it, not only is the broccoli is shockingly crispy while being perfectly cooked through the center, but the broccoli itself tasted so creamy and delicious unlike any broccoli I have had before. And the bang bang sauce is bangin too. All this being said, if you are trying to be choosy and try the most unique dishes, I would probably skip this dish in favor of more sushi. Overall, this was an incredible, unique, and innovative meal and I can't wait to go back to try more of the menu. This is how vegetables could and should taste, if only we put as much love into them as we do with meat. At least the chefs at Planta are listening.“
“The food is remarkable! Everything we ordered, we ordered in the "all Vegan" version; vegan enchiladas, vegan nachos, vegan mushroom taco, vegan butternut squash taco. All this food was absolutely delicious. Can't wait to order from Chaia again.“
“Been ordering food here for a few years and it’s always good. Tried the app and it worked great. The staff are always attentive and polite. I love that &pizza has delicious vegan options - vegetables, plant based sausage and chicken, cheese. I always support restaurants that support vegans!“
“Excellent! We picked up some items and the flavors are amazing. The cauliflower bites were good and perfectly paired with he sauce. Then the bahmi with pho broth was delicious. They don't use meat alternatives and make everything from scratch. Definitely somewhere to go even for those not necessarily vegetarian/vegan.Parking: Shopping center with dedicated parking, whoever during peak times it can be hard to find a spot.“
“Vegan reviewer here! It was my first time to Yuan Fu Vegetarian and based on the reviews I was really excited to try them out. I went on a Friday night around 8 PM. From the outside it's nothing spectacular which is a great sign of authenticity. Right when you enter there's booths and tables with the counter at the back. They were about 1/4 occupied. I decided to seat myself in a booth and was greeted right away and handed a menu and was asked what I wanted to drink. I ended up deciding on the pecking duck which was the most recommended menu item and the vegetable chow foon since that dish is one of my favorites to order at any Asian restaurant. The both dishes came out about 10 minutes later. I had never had real pecking duck but wow this was delicious. The plum sauce really complimented the dish. Definitely order this dish. The chow foon was alright. Rice noodles really soak up any sauce you put on it so I was disappointed when there wasn't much flavor. The noodles were also pretty soft and I like them to have a bit of a bite. I asked for chili oil and soy sauce to jazz it up and it did the trick. I have a big appetite but had to ask for boxes. The service and food were great overall and I definitely plan on coming back and trying other dishes. One thing I will say is I asked for an itemized receipt and they had to handwrite it since they don't have a digital system. Both dishes came out to just under $35. Can't wait to come back!“
“This was my second visit to Yard House. The food was even better this time around. The vodka sauce with chicken over penne was fantastic. My only feedback would be to slice the chicken instead of sending out a whole chicken breast. My friend got the Mac n Cheese and said it was amazing. We finished with the Oreo Brookie, which did not disappoint, it was warm and sweet and delicious. My only complaint, and the reason I'm leaving 4 stars instead of 5, is that Yard House does not keep salt and pepper on the tables. Why? I think this is a huge miss. I had to request salt and pepper, and because my server was sat a big table right before my request, I had to wait more than 5 minutes before finally getting it, as my food got cold. This wasn't my servers fault, this is 100% on management for this silly policy. In the future I'll ask for salt and pepper as soon as I'm seated.“
“Glad I found this gem tucked away in a shopping center. Atmosphere was great, service was amazing, and the food was delicious. Great for vegans and vegetarians with a good amount of options. Vegan shwarma was delicious. Some dishes can be customized to your dietary needs. Will definitely be returning. Thank you, Siena's for a great experience.“
“Mild Indian food - fit and easy to try for rookie food explore. Anyway, overall is still tastes good. The highlight is about service, very polite and professional. Price is a little bit more expensive than others because it makes from organic products. Location in downtown Silver Spring- no free parking spot near the restaurant - but there are a few meters parking around and garages are available.“
“Very sweet, loving, down to Earth owners and staff.Loved the vibe of the Restaurant (felt like we reached an Indian shop). Fresh food, great tea. Loved the Vada Pav, A must try. The Gobhi Parantha and Aloo Tikki was okayish. There are so many sweets too, which they prepare at the place. The kachoris are good.At least one should try this place once (SPECIALLY THE INDIANS , COME ON)“
“Absolutely amazing. Definitely would recommend :)! Kind people, atmosphere was relaxing, and the food was delicious. Great for vegans and non-vegans! We ordered the crab cake, steak and cheese, Mac and cheese, fries, and it was all so satisfying. There is also a co-op next door that is wonderful :)“
“I eat there about twice a week. The menu is small, that is, not trying to be all things to all people, and has a Latino flavor. But what is offered is quite good and often not to be found elsewhere on Mt. Pleasant Street. My favorite is the Dos Gringos breakfast bagel, with avocado, tomato and capers. Capers! Where else can I get capers for breakfast? The restaurant is oriented to facilitating conversation and meetings of community activists, as well as helping community artists. I myself have bought art off the wall there.“
“Awesome food and great service. It took a while for us to get the food but the chef did an amazing job. Very fresh chili garlic naan and the lamb vindaloo was sweet and savory without being too spicy. The chef even personally packed our leftovers for us in those takeout boxes. On the menu, they have many vegetarian and vegan options too.Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian options on the menuParking: Free parking lot and there's parking enforcement (toll truck would come around and ask for people's cars)“
“Ordered the forbidden rice bowl for delivery. Food arrived hot and smelled really good. Taste was bland, had to add a bunch of salt (the only "spice" available at the office) as there was almost no flavor. Was really disappointed to spend over $30 and have a less-than stellar meal from a restaurant I heard great reviews from.“
“Went for a birthday celebration dinner on a weekday evening. The place features a large selection of vegetarian dishes, but mostly not the "usual" lentils and cauliflower. We ordered the large sampler dish, to get familiar with a variety of dishes. It came with 7 different samples, all of them very tasty, flavorful and unique. Highly recommended. I especially note the rice cooked in coconut milk and cumin, and a superb dark daal soup - thick and spiced to perfection. Very helpful and attentive service and a calm ambience and décor. It was a wonderful evening.“
“Delish! Even gluten free Mac & cheese. I thought ‘why not give it a try?’ Happy I did.Parking: Easy to find at intersection of Old Georgetown Road and Democracy Blvd in Bethesda.Wheelchair accessibility: Handicap parking and ramp for wheelchair.“
“Had a wonderful experience for the first time in a while at this location! Special s/o to Josh! He was very accommodating and had a very pleasant attitude. The cashier was also efficient and helpful; I didn't get her name, but she was very kind. 10/10!“
“Naked Lunch (located inside Mom's) is a local treasure, serving up amazing, fresh, healthy, vegetarian and vegan food with a ton of flavor. The staff are friendly and have great suggestions if you need one, too. Everything on the menu is great, but we have a particular fondness for the kale Caesar, which has a vegetarian dressing that's delicious on its own, but when combined with the Parmesan, kale, and balsamic roasted hearts of palm, is otherworldly. We get this at least once a week and it hits the spot every time.“
“My wife and I visited the Bethesda location. Our server was extremely helpful and kind. She explained basically they only cook with good oils. Everything is fresh and organic. The terminology today is clean food. My wife ordered a gin and pineapple martini and it was delicious.! They have an open kitchen concept and the cooks bring the food right to you after they prepare it! Which I thought was a great touch and would answer any questions you might have. I ordered the OG burger medium and it came out perfect so juicy and flavorful the grilled onions on the burger were fantastic and it came with a side of roasted baby red potatoes that were. Delicious. My wife ordered a salad with fresh grilled salmon and the salmon was prepared just the way she liked it not pink in the center and not overly done. Definitely a great concept and the food was extremely tasty. I would highly recommend it. They also have outside seating for a pretty spring evening.“
“Listen the price is steel but the juices are absolutely bomb. Great burgers. I love this place. It's also super vegan. Wish they'd stop clinging onto the optional cheese situation for really no reason. Edit: apparently the baked good are also not vegan. Slightly annoying. Updated from previous review on 2022-10-10“
“One of our favorite places nearby that has just the right combo of cozy atmosphere, consistently good food, friendly staff, and heck, they have a glass encased wall of beer. They have an eye on all their guests.I know people have their own preferences for injira, but we like the taste, texture, and soaking-up ability of theirs. We like the crispy beef tibs - combo of the roasted tomatoes, onions, and beef is very good. We usually get the veggie combo platter and the meat and veggie combo to satisfy the whole family of four, plus a meat dish. The lamb is tender and delicious as well. We try a new dish each time and they have all been delicious so far.I had an unfortunate run in with their salad that came with the combo, so maybe unfairly, I usually shy away from that.Parking is sometimes tricky, depending on the day. There are parking lots nearby and street parking. On some evenings cars are double parked as the street is popular. This is a restaurant that is confident and comfortable with their food and are happy to share it!“
“We were starving after the ill-fated attempt to Beat the Bomb (See review). Too tired to walk the mile or more for full restaurant fare that didn't require reservations, all the places nearby were just bar food. And though i don't mind bar food...we wanted something else Honestly: didn't even know MoMs had eat-in-store options. I'd only been to the one in White Marsh, and it doesn't Cutting through the store headed to the elevator to the parking garage, we saw "this": the Naked Lunch And thought. Hmmm. Quick. Healthy. Non-bar. Why not? All vegetarian, vegan, lots of raw, veggies, and legumes, grains, and fruit and vegetable juices! Sooo glad we did! 2/4 of us frequent the establishment so we followed their lead I got the moolah bowl and a friend got a juice made of all kinds of fresh stuff. She said it was THE best fresh juices juice she'd ever had. Unfortunately they were out of both avocado and mushrooms, so I subbed brown rice and black beans. LOVED IT They roast the veggies, and just totally mix the greens and toppings n veggies altogether and dump it in a brown box! DELISH AND HUMONGOUS. I literally am on my 3rd meal of it, today! I'm gonna write to the moms in white marsh and ask why "we" don't have the ear in option? Staff: two VERY hard working folk going at it, being patient with us first timers and totally apologetic about the items they were out of (as though it were their fault). A short line started to form behind us and a lady appeared from the rear to help them out. Good to see an establishment recognize a need to come to the aid of other workers to ensure customer satisfaction“
“I love the BBQ tofu. Its a nice sweet BBQ sauce with a little bit of a nutty flavor (not sure if there's actually nuts). The Mac and cheese is okay. Sometimes the cheese texture is similar to the texture of glue. I think I'm used to a different style of vegan Mac and cheese like Nu vegan or E life has. The people who work here are always nice and there's an interesting small plant based grocery connected to the restaurant that you can look around while waiting for your food.“
“A favorite lunch spot with great deals texted right to your phone. Super fast with online ordering ,and always a parking space around back for a quick lunch run when you need it. Thanks for continuing to save me from the "hangrys" on a busy work day.“
“After hearing about Sweetgreen for a while, I finally decided to give it a try. I must say, the food is absolutely delicious and the portions are quite generous. Additionally, the service provided was excellent and the restaurant itself is clean and well-organized. My only minor complaint would be that the sauce used in their dishes is a tad too salty for my personal preference.“
“I've been a long time customer of Turning Natural and highly recommended their juices, smoothies and cleanses. My favorite smoothie is their Happy Hemp that comes with mango, pineapple, spinach, spirulina and hemp protein. So yummy! The black bean burger and spinach patty are pretty good too. They now even have açaí and pitaya bowls that I'm excited to try. They're also black owned and have locations throughout the DMV. You really can't go wrong!“
“Absolutely! "I recently tried the halal pepperoni pizza at my own pizza , and it was an absolute delight. The savory and spicy flavor of the halal pepperoni added a unique twist to the classic pizza experience. The crust was perfectly crispy, and the generous amount of cheese complemented the halal pepperoni beautifully. It's a delicious option for those who prefer halal meat without compromising on taste. I highly recommend this pizza for anyone looking to savor a flavorful and satisfying slice!"“
“This lovely and comfortable restaurant is very vegetarian/vegan restaurant but it does serve meat and fish so please don't be dissuaded by the labels. Large, airy restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. Went with friends - waiter was so friendly. In fact, all the staff were. Food was delicious. All healthy and freshly prepared. Highly recommend.“
“We have thrown surprise birthday party, every food item was very delicious, cost per person is economical , very good hospitality, we recommend to visit oftenVegetarian options: Many varietiesDietary restrictions: Perfect - less spicy , less oilyKid-friendliness: Very mich“
“I really loved this place. It was a very modern and high tech restaurant with lots of food options. I liked how every single item was fully customizable and you could even make your own of everything. The one interaction I had with the staff wasn’t great but it was really because he didn’t speak great English but that’s ok. Food was good! I didn’t expect to like the garlic sauce but I did. Highly recommend this place.Parking: Lots of parking“
“Finding a place to eat gluten and dairy free is not easy. Especially one that tastes good. I love &pizza! Their topping options are also great. Lots of vegan things to choose from. The food is consistently amazing. I think I'm lucky to go in on the days Sterling works. He definitely cares about the customer experience. He delivers excellent service with a smile. I live between this location and Pike and Rose and choose this location because of the amazing service. Just a heads up, it's a smaller store and is takeout only.“
“Honeygrow restaurant always cooks my stir fry meal ? to perfection and the ingredients always taste fresh. The restaurant is clean and the service is quick. The kiosk machine is easy to use in order to place your order. The staff are helpful and always very friendly to speak with.“
“One of the cozy spots around Shaw area which is close to convention center. Me and my girl had to take Uber since dc parking lil bit hard, but we made it for dinner and some cocktails. Our servers was so friendly and help us choose what we eat which is cool. We tried egg rolls which was delicious and my girl had lamb chops that was reasonable price and so delicious. I would say lemon drop was so fire for the happy hour price was so dope. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to have chill vibe, drinks and food. Btw the fact they had a DJ was interesting too.“
“I've had a few issues with this location and stopped going until recently. This new crew seems to be focused on what the customer wants and needs, because I ordered from the wrong location, but the manager filled my order anyway. She didn't have to do that, at all. She understood that I made a mistake and allowed me to get my food without going to a farther location. Courteous and professional young lady!! It's no wonder pizzas have been better under her watch...“
