We tried several other highly rated spots nearby, but there's always something missing. At Royal Tea, everything just hits perfectly — from the taste and texture of the boba to the quality of the drinks.

The atmosphere is super cute and welcoming, and the owners are incredibly nice and friendly. You can tell they care about their customers and their craft. They make fresh boba everyday and never use left over. If you are first time, ask them to suggest.

“Love the roasted oolong and honey amber oolong here! Two times I’ve had a self created issue one where I caused a spill with a hot drink and the workers were so polite about it and another where we forgot to order boba and they were able to add it after if we paid for the bubbles themselves. So thankful that they have been understanding both times and that the boba never fails to be good here!“

This shop is in Rockville and there’s practically a bubble tea spot on every corner, but this one is worth your time and money. Kevin, the owner, is a super sweet older Chinese man who takes true pride in his teas. You can taste the love and effort. “My boyfriend and I went in to try their bingsoo and we just had to come back and try all the flavors. It was amazing!! the shaved ice part was creamy and fluffy (more like frozen cream, not shaved ice). all the flavors were good but I loved the red bean the most (actually i can go for any except the mango but it's a personal preference kind of thing). it was a tad expensive but I would say it's worth the treat plus the couple (I'm assuming) are lovely and nice. this is definitely our go-to bingsoo place.“

“This place is amazing! I usually order the spicy teriyaki and it's always flavourful and has a bit of heat. I also usually get the taro milk tea and it's sweet and delightful!

The inside of the place is warm and colorful. There are two registers, one for Gong Cha and one for Fuji Teriyaki.

The staff here are really friendly as well and add to the experience.“

“Definitely a nice place to grab a sweet treat if you're ever in the Rockville area. You have the option to pick the toppings you want on your rolled ice cream. I wish they had specialty choices but overall it's good. The parking lot is a bit tight but there is street parking as well.“
