“If I could afford to eat here every day I would. Never had a combination of ingredients I didn't like. Second best falafel I've ever had (and the best is an expensive fancy restaurant). The lamb melts in your mouth. And things that say spicy actually kind of hurt me and that's rare to get at any chain restaurant.

Once I had to wait quite a while for a pickup order so I'll just come in and order from now on but no complaints otherwise.

I really really wish we had one of these in columbus Ohio. (Or maybe not because id be broke and become a sphere)

Lastly, I've eaten at other Mezehs and this one is the best and most flavorful. The folks that run the other ones should come here and learn a thing or two.“

“Always delicious traditional Egyptian fare. My Egyptian husband makes me drive two hours just to eat here. Although the food is delicious and healthy, my fav thing is the mint lemonade which they make by hand.“

“I love taken the family there on the weekends. They have very good food in a child friendly environment. They always have something for everyone in the family that would personalize and enjoy.“

“This place is delicious. We only had a few days in DC, so we had to be selective where we ate. I don't think I've ever had straight Afgan food, but this place didn't disappoint. About 1/3 of their menu is vegan. They were very accommodating for vegan food, they made modifications even without asking.

“I tried the Vegan Halal Bowl and it was absolutely delicious! The bowl came with rice and a fresh salad. I added french fries and topped everything with their white sauce—which was like a ranch, and honestly, I give that a 10/10 on its own. It brought the whole dish together and made it super flavorful.

The rice had a brown rice texture, and the salad was fresh and crisp with lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, and green peppers. I also had a side of pita bread or naan, which was soft, warm, and perfect with the bowl.
The customer service was excellent—everyone was friendly and welcoming.

As a first-time visitor, I really appreciated the recommendations. Even the cook came out to suggest some items from the menu, which made the experience feel personal and genuine.

“Delicious smash burgers and shakes! Got the classic (as a lettuce wrap) and the jalepeno with oreo milkshake and cheese fries. The fries come unseasoned - but they have a seasoning station to add it yourself - always measure with your heart!
If you want the fries I recommend just getting the regular fries.“

“I came to Arlington for a business trip from Atlanta. I've been to the Ballston Food Court several times since I visit frequently. First time at Hal & Als and I ordered the brisket sandwich. the cashier who I assume is the owner was telling me about who he learned to make ribs from down in Atlanta. he was so hospitable too. he asked me to let him know what I thought. I completely forgot. everything was great. halal BBQ is a little different but it blew me away. I'll def revisit when I'm in Arlington again.“

“Best way to describe it is as an Indian inspired - chipotle, noodles &co, poke place, etc. choose one or more proteins, carbs, veggies, toppings, sauces.

It allows for a variety of combinations that one should find very satisfying. The portion size was pretty good and the value was also very good but consider the high rent location you are in and take that into account. Restaurants in that general area by the convention center are “expense account joints”. I was glad they were there when I just wanted to take my time and eat something satisfying in a quiet place.“

Location is clean, bright and inviting. Staff is friendly, helpful and chill. I got the 18 pc today, never had it. It’s the saucy chicken. Flavors I got were: Mike’s Hot Honey, Spicy Buffalo and Spicy BBQ. The hot honey tasted abysmal, I didn’t like it whatsoever but since it’s part of my total order I covered it in sauce and ate it but I will never go for that again. Either change the recipe (suggestion) or remove it but everything else was tasty. I normally get other menu items but I generally recommend Dave’s“

We came in and there were 6 people behind the counter, not one person greeted us or acknowledged our presence. Finally, a guy came over to take our order and as I was asking for what I wanted, he was exasperated from the very beginning. He quickly slopped the food in the bowl, no care at all. When I asked for my sauces on the side, he rolled his eyes and then I asked for pickled onions and he grabbed my bowl and begrudgingly put them on. He did the same with my sisters orders. “Visiting DC for the weekend and had to look for some halal Chinese food. As a houstonian, I’m picky about my food choices. Oh my god I’m so happy to have tried New Dynasty. Mom and pop shop run by a husband and wife. They’ve been open for 30+ years. Such a sweet couple and so kind. The food came quickly and it was all so delicious. It was so good I had to DoorDash it the next day. Definitely will be back if I’m back in the city!“
