“Bottom line up front, Cranes is a MUST for DC’s Winter Restaurant Week! From the hostess's accommodation of our late arrival, friendly greeting, and front door coat check to our waiter’s, Elmer, and wait staff’s attentive service throughout our visit, Cranes was superb! The Faux-jito, Squash Hummus, Ramen, and Iberico Pork Fried Rice were fantastic! When there was a problem with our bill, it was quickly resolved. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly recommend!!!“

“We had an early dinner before attending a performance at the Ford’s Theater. We made reservations through Open Table and were immediately seated upon arrival. The service was great. Our server recommended several dishes that we loved. There were abundant vegan and vegetarian options. Chilorio de Res tacos were mouthwatering as were the Hongos en Milto ones. In fact, every dish we ordered was delicious. One dish (chilaquiles) never arrived from the kitchen but we were pressed for time so we opted to have it taken off our bill instead of waiting for them to prepare it separately. Dessert, Cafe de Olla, was phenomenal. Pics are only some of the items we tried. Great atmosphere for date night and a milestone birthday celebration. Highly recommend.“

“I had a great first visit to Boqueria Dupont the other day! The food was mostly excellent—flavorful, well-prepared, and perfect for sharing. The only dish that fell a bit short was the roasted chicken, which didn’t quite meet the high bar set by everything else. I also liked the white sangria.
The service was very good—attentive and efficient without being intrusive. The atmosphere is lively and inviting, though it can get a bit noisy at times.
Overall, a solid spot for tapas and a fun dining experience. Would definitely come back!“

“I have walked by this place for years and thought, "Golly, I should try that place.". Then i never did, until today. Gypsy Kitchen: you won't find a better priced value and food quality in town for Sunday brunch. Now that Brookland's Finest is long gone, I thought it wasn't possible to find a brunch location you could actually get into and not lose your paycheck and still get good, rock solid food. This is that hidden Sunday brunch gem, and it's smack dab right in the middle of the hot 14th Street strip! It is terrific because our server was top notch, the food he recommended was superior to comparable in town here, and that upstairs outdoor deck on a gorgeous spring Sunday was not impossible to get a great table, nor was it pretentious. My friend had a Bloody Mary and the Spanish Benedict and she just loved the quality and healthy Putin of greens that evened it out. I had the kefte burger with insane tomato jam and wrote was it flavourful. Run, don't walk. Everything is closing in D.C. thanks to the massive lay offs at the U.S. govt. Don't let this great joint slip from our collective fingertips.“

“Solid Italian restaurant in DC.
Easy to get reservations, I went on a Friday night with a friend. We got the three course set menu. A lot of food for the price. Great quality and great options. Recommend coming hungry or ordering off the a la cart menu. Garlic knots are a must.
Lots of servers that were very attentive. Be careful, they’ll scoop up your plate if you’re not paying attention.
Wine and beer list was extensive.
Fair pricing for quality of food and atmosphere.
Would definitely recommend to a friend. Would definitely visit again.
Parking: No parking lot, not a lot of street parking. Had to park a few blocks away.
Kid-friendliness: I probably wouldn’t bring kids here, didn’t have kid friendly food.“

“One of my favorite coffee shops in DC!! Tucked away in the outskirts of Adams Morgan, Yerevan may not look like much from the outside, but this hidden gem is an absolute delight. The staff is all super friendly, and they have the most incredible selection of pastries, coffee, and tea. I have probably tried half of their pastry case, and I continue to be impressed with each and every item. I absolutely adore their homestyle baklava -- the phyllo dough is perfectly crispy and soaks up the honey and nut mixture beautifully, and the dessert is simultaneously decadent and not overly sweet. The honey nugget is a great little sweet bite, and is the perfect gluten-free treat or small pick-me-up, and the honey cake is absolutely incredible. It's a smidge overly sweet (as the main flavor is, as the name implies, honey), but it still manages to be amazing.
Beyond their lovely sweets, their drinks are incredible. They have one of my favorite matcha lattes in DC, as well as a matcha rose latte that is perfect when you're looking for a hint of spring. Their coffee is also wonderful, with a great nutty aroma and deep, robust flavor. It's also served in the cutest little Armenian mugs, which really adds to the overall experience.
The space is shockingly large, with 4-5 larger tables and a couple 2-person tables, all beautifully arranged with cute little flower pots and throw pillows. They even have a small stack of books and board games if you get bored of yapping and need something else to keep you entertained. It's the perfect, cozy little spot to either read, work, or catch up with friends.“

“Don’t let Atxondo’s modest looks deceive you. I was skeptical but some friends wanted to try this place so I went along. I was very pleasantly surprised. We ate vegetarian and everything was excellent. I can recommend the brussel sprouts, tortilla española, crispy potatoes, coliflor, golden beets, fried shishitos, and risotto. I almost forgot to mention the interesting drink menu and the best flan I’ve ever had. Service was great too. Go with a group so you can try everything!“

“A Culinary Masterpiece at Enigma on U Street
Last night, I had the pleasure of dining at Enigma on U Street in Washington, DC, and the experience was nothing short of extraordinary. Despite the late hour, Chef Dennis Clark crafted a dish that left a lasting impression on my palate.
The standout of the evening was the mussels, which were served in a remarkable spicy sweet sauce that perfectly balanced heat and sweetness. The flavors were bold yet harmonious, with the sauce enhancing the natural brininess of the mussels rather than overpowering it. Every bite was a revelation, showcasing Chef Clark’s exceptional skill and creativity in the kitchen.“

“Wine market, bar, small plates joint in a good location. Stopped in for a flight and light bite on a Saturday night. The downstairs bar/market was packed, lots of energy, and buzzing. We were upstairs because we had a reservation. Decidedly quieter up there only a couple of other folks dining, the back room had a large party (15) cozy with lighting in the right place. We started with a flight and narrowed in on Pomerol by the glass. The Somm was friendly, knowledgeable, and made a good suggestion for our final glass, a Cahors. A licorice-bomb that we really liked. On the food side, we were very basic, fries with homemade ketchup; French onion soup, with cheddar and a nice bread on the side; and roasted/fried cauliflower with yogurt, pine nuts, and pickled raisins, which was a little overdone. We didn't venture much further on the food menu, but we were really here for the wine anyway. On our way out, we perused the markets but weren't able to find that Cahors in a bottle server/somm. sensing our dilemma, procured a bottle for us from the back. Nice experience, I'd explore more by the glass options here and they have some interesting finds in the wine market.“

I live 45 minutes away and will be back for sure. 100% worth fighting the traffic to get here and I mean that. Also they have some great drink options. The watermelon lime soda was so cute and very tasty!

“This is a great breakfast/brunch place. Was in Washington DC for a few days doing the tourist thing and this is one of the only breakfast places in the Marriott we were staying at. Being honest, I didn't have high expectations when I made my reservation. Wow, we're we pleasantly surprised! 1st morning I went with a standard eggs, bacon, hashbrowns and toast breakfast. Ordered my eggs over easy and they were cooked perfectly! The bacon was crispy, potatoes had great flavor and were also cooked just right. They bring the toast dry, with a tin of butter and 4 different jams/jellies to choose from. Other than having outstanding food, the service was excellent as well. Entire staff was friendly and courteous. My wife and I enjoyed our experience so much, we ate there every morning we stayed at the Marriott. On the following day I ordered corned beef hash and eggs and it was indeed homemade style, not the canned version that reminds you of dog food. Prices were very reasonable and they also offer a breakfast buffet.“

“Food was wonderful and my server was ok. I was excited to try this restaurant and wanted to experience as many flavors as possible. I was a bit disappointed that my server couldn't explain the menu, I ended up having to use Google since she left me mid order to serve drinks. The decorations were pretty and the music wasn't too loud. The water had a weird taste and smell, which for an upscale restaurant, you would think they'd have filtered water for their guests.“
