“Our party of three went for a late lunch recently and the service was absolutely wonderful! The food was the best we've had recently in Maine. Many of the other restaurants were low quality with a "seaside tax" built into the menu, but Harborside did not disappoint! We sampled the fresh (caught yesterday!) seared tuna, fried haddock sandwich, tuna roll (the rice was seasoned to perfection!) and an amazingly delicious club sandwich! You could tell the kitchen puts lots of care into everything they do, and our host and server were excellent! “Best lobster on the coast.“

“We came in hot with almost no cash, had exactly enough for four platters and they threw in a whole thing of fries for free. Nicest people ever, everyone there is in a good mood, the fish is delicious and the fries are nice and crispy. Homemade tartar sauce also slapped.“

“We had a large party of 6-14 eat here three different times over the course of a week while in Boothbay. Each visit was met with quality food, great service and a fun environment of eating on a rooftop.

We had a weird experience with waffle fries though…
It started when one person ordered a sandwich that came with waffle fries which were MUCH better than the limp, starchy regular fries. The next visit everyone ordered waffle fry substitutions. We were told they were out and were served a small portion of lousy fries. Halfway through the meal we saw a few plates pass by with waffle fries. Thankfully the server saw the look on our faces and rounded up a couple plates of waffle fries from the kitchen but it was just a weird experience.

Overall we were very pleased with the restaurant. A wide variety of meals is usually alarming but they always managed to be high quality dishes. My recommendation would be more Tapas options.

The risotto is delicious. Lobster tacos were also very nice.

Amanda, our waitress, couldn't have been nicer. It truly was an awesome way to end my brother-in-law's trip who happened to be visiting from Australia. “Best place to eat in Southport hands down. Always get the lobster roll and a cup of clam chowder. It is the best lobster roll in Maine! The views are incredible and always talk a walk down by the water. Always a must when in town. Never has been overly crowded so service is always fast when we go in.“

“Honestly pleasantly surprised. I went here with a few friends while staying in Maine for an early dinner. Two of us, myself included, are gluten intolerant so we weren't sure what we could expect. I was shocked to find out that over 75% of the menu had a gluten free option that looked near identical to the regular offerings.

We mostly got gluten free seafood baskets and one person got gluten free onion rings both of which were delicious. The portion sizes are enormous so unless you have a massive appetite, 1 order should be more than enough, I had food for 2 days and only ordered 1 item. Their best items in my humble opinion are the fried haddock and scallops.

Please be aware if you are gluten intolerant or celiac, don't order the soups, they are made with flour. Oh and they do a have gluten free bread option so lobster rolls are an option.

Dietary restrictions: Most items that are fried can bee made gluten free. They have a dedicated fryer just for gluten free foods and a special batter as well. Yay!

Wheelchair accessibility: You can literally roll right in. The seating is great and can easily be configured to accommodate most wheelchairs including large ones inside. Not sure about the outdoor seating though.“

“In Boothbay from Galveston TX for the last 20+ years. We have been eating here for many years. We sat at the bar and had drinks and dinner. Kathleen gave us wonderful and friendly service throughout. Food was excellent! We also saw Ricardo (our bartender) from last year's visit. The restaurant is a well-oiled machine but with a great personality.“

“Been here many times over the years and never disappoints. Parking is a bit frustrating but once that is solved, it's all good. Food is cooked perfectly and good selection of drinks available. Sit inside or on the deck overlooking the water.“
