“I ordered the Tom yum soup and papaya salad. Tasted the same as when I first fell in love both dishes on my trip to Bangkok. Can’t wait to go back!“

“Server was attentive and atmosphere was calm and comfortable. Overall, the food was decent but nothing special. They do take extra measures to ensure carry out items actually make it to your home (using cardboard to separate items to avoid spilling) and that is very nice. I got Tom Yum soup, which was good. Red curry dish was also very good. Teriyaki chicken was just okay. The food was very oily. I would come back if I was in the area but would not specifically return to this place otherwise.
Parking: Large lot in strip mall next to Kroger.“

“Pudthai Sushi is one of my absolute favorite local spots for both sushi and Thai cuisine. The ingredients are always incredibly fresh and every dish is full of flavor. Whether I’m stopping in for a quick dinner or grabbing takeout, the service is consistently fast, friendly and reliable. The sushi rolls are beautifully prepared and never disappoint. Love their Pad Thai too!! A neighborhood gem that always delivers.“

“The food was on point. I’m from NY so I was skeptical at first but I really enjoyed it. The mango milk tea with boba was excellent! Definitely recommend this place ♥️“

“Some of the best Thai food I've had in awhile. I got the Gang Kew Warn and it was a large portion for a great price. Absolutely perfect flavoring. My husband got the Pad Se Ew and it was equally delicious, a slightly smaller portion of noodles but the prices here are amazing. Definitely will be back.“

“Ive been eating from this place for years and it is the absolute best.
Everything here I have tried is great, but In particular, the stir fried rice noodle dishes are superb. The stir frying technique of browning and blistering the wide rice noodle in a hot wok and then adding sauce gives a savory flavor and a very specific texture that really elevates the dish. Definitely try the pad kee mao for example. This cooking will put any other Thai you may have tried in the US to shame.
A real gem. Can’t miss. 5/5 stars.“

“The food is excellent and take out orders are really fast. Our local thai restaurant closed a few years ago so I'm glad i found this spot! I get the pad see ew everytime I order and it's loaded with fresh garlic, the sauce is rich, and the rice noodles are thick. The chicken pad thai is another favorite in my house. Highly recommend“

“From the moment you step into this place, you feel it — that perfect mix of homey and effortlessly cool. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, like you’re visiting a friend who’s got really good taste in both food and interior design. Think soft lighting, Thai art, chill music, and the faint smell of lemongrass and spices floating through the air.
Now the food? Absolutely unreal. Every dish hits with flavor that feels both comforting and exciting at the same time. Their Pad Thai is the best I’ve had outside of Thailand — slightly sweet, tangy, and cooked just right. The green curry is rich and soul-warming, and don’t sleep on the mango sticky rice — it’s life-changing. Portions are generous, and everything is plated with care, but not in a fussy way.
The staff are genuinely kind, not just polite. You can tell they care. One of them even shared the story behind a family recipe when I asked about the sauce on the grilled chicken — turns out it’s made the same way their grandmother used to make it back in Bangkok.
Whether you’re grabbing a quick lunch or settling in for a long dinner with friends, this spot nails it. It’s the kind of place you end up coming back to again and again — not just for the food, but because it makes you feel good to be there“

“I recently made my first visit back to Bangkok Express in quite some time, and it was a nostalgic trip down memory lane! This place used to be one of my go-to spots to take my Aunt Bertha in between her doctor visits and physical therapy sessions, and it holds a special place in my heart as we approach a year since her transition. We always ordered the sweet-and-sour shrimp (no heat), adding extra onions and shrimp for that burst of flavor!
Walking into the restaurant, I noticed they’re still operating with the COVID-style wrap and cover, so there's no dining in anymore, which was a bit disappointing. However, the warm welcome from the family that runs the place made up for it. They were incredibly friendly, and it felt great to see familiar faces.
The food was just as delicious as I remembered! While chatting with a couple who were visiting for the first time, I was happy to share my recommendations. I’m glad I could provide them with an accurate review based on my past experiences.
Overall, I had a wonderful time at Bangkok Express, and I look forward to returning again soon. It’s a great spot for anyone looking for tasty Thai food and a friendly atmosphere!“

“They need to do more to advertise their delicious Shrimp Rolls. I expected something like a spring roll, but it's actually a jumbo shrimp wrapped in spring roll wrapping, with chicken. I'll definitely order it again. All of the food I've had here has been good and the service is always polite and fast.“

“I went with a friend who considers this place his favorite Thai restaurant. I had the pad Thai curry with chicken, mild because of my GERD, and it was so delicious! The soups are very good, the spring rolls crispy and tasty, and hot, fresh from the fryer!! I look forward to returning, soon!“

“They have some of the best Thai food in the area. Great prices and large amounts. Nice employees too. I'm here at least once a week.“

“Pad Thai curry sounded nice with beef and spicy.
It wasn’t interesting dish. I’ve never had pad Thai curry and it turned out to be exactly what it sounds like pad Thai in curry sauce. It took some getting used to, but I tried to eat it. I think I like noodles that are less creamy and I have no curry. I’d like to be able to taste individual flavors of the vegetables and protein. Won’t be ordering this one again.
Quiet on a Tuesday night at dinner time. I like that the menus are at the table and the service was quick and responsive.“

“My husband and I, along with several friends, have been devoted patrons of this gem for the past eight years, and it remains our favorite Thai restaurant in Michigan. As self-proclaimed Thai food connoisseurs—and having had the privilege of visiting Thailand—we can confidently say this place is a standout.
The dishes are consistently packed with bold, authentic flavors and are always perfectly prepared. Not only is the food absolutely delicious, but the value is truly unmatched. The generous portions and incredible quality make the price point almost too good to be true.
We’ve been ordering from here at least once a week—sometimes twice—for the past seven years, and it never disappoints. The efficiency is remarkable, with most orders ready in about 10 minutes. For those new to the menu, we highly recommend trying the combo options, which include fried rice, a crispy chicken wing, and a flavorful soup alongside your entrée.
This restaurant has become a beloved part of our weekly routine, and it continues to deliver exceptional meals with every visit. Truly, a hidden treasure we can’t recommend enough.“

“This is by far one of my top favorite restaurants in the area! The flavor, portion/price, and spice level are all on point. I’ve never been disappointed here, unlike at many of the other nearby restaurants. I usually get the Pad Woonsene and recently tried the Pad Thai Woonsene and both are amazing!“

“This has been my favorite Thai restaurant for a while now. When they know you by name when you make a phone-in order, it just feels right. I love their hot&sour soup, and the Prik Khing is my go to for just adding some joy to my life.“

“This was my first time trying Thai. A friend of mine suggested it and it turned out to be a wonderful choice. We started with a soup that came with a very interesting prawn cracker that was melt-in-your-mouth good as well as the appetizers of crab wontons and spring rolls. My friend ordered the Pad Thai and, since the menu was new to me, I asked the waitstaff for her recommendation. She selected the Curry Noodle for me. Of course, I had to taste both dishes. Everything was wonderful and I was pleasantly full by the end of the experience. I would recommend anyone who hasn't tried it before to give it a chance. You'll be glad you did.“

“🍽️ Bangkok City, Southfield, MI: 👍👍👍👍
Experience Thai-inspired dishes at Bangkok City in Southfield, where diners enjoy a casual meal, albeit with a few areas for improvement.
FOOD QUALITY👍: We tried the Basil Fried Rice and Panang Curry. The flavors were decent, though the dishes leaned more toward an Americanized version of Thai food rather than authentic Thai cuisine. Nonetheless, the meal was satisfying.
SERVICE👍: The service was efficient and friendly, especially considering the restaurant’s crowd during lunchtime. The staff managed the busy rush well and ensured a pleasant experience.
VALUE for MONEY👍: The price was reasonable for the quantity of food served, making it a good option for those looking for a casual, tasty meal.
AMBIENCE & CLEANLINESS👎: The ambiance was a bit lacking, and cleanliness was not up to expectations. The restaurant felt crowded, and the space could benefit from a more pleasant, well-maintained environment.
LOCATION & ACCESSIBILITY👍: Conveniently located in Southfield, Bangkok City is easily accessible for anyone in the area who wants to enjoy a quick Thai-inspired meal.
In summary, Bangkok City offers a good, casual Thai meal at a reasonable price, with friendly service. However, improvements in ambiance and cleanliness would enhance the overall dining experience. It’s a decent option, but there are areas to improve to make it a more enjoyable spot for diners.“

“Hands down the best drunken noodle I’ve ever had. I saw people mention the portions were small but I ate my whole plate and I almost fell asleep driving home because of how full I was. I usually eat off my girlfriend’s plate after I finish mine but I knew I’d explode. Currently eating the leftovers for lunch at work now. Made me remember to leave a review which I rarely do but this place needs to stay around“

“Excellent Thai food, professionally, prepared one of the few Thai restaurants, you can get papaya salad, which is phenomenal, very spicy even if you order medium it has a good amount of spice so be careful. I’ve had almost anything on the menu, but the yellow curry and green curry are phenomenal. Their service is great. They have two waitresses at all times never have to wait too long. Highly recommend to any family and friends“

“Had Massaman curry with steamed tofu (take out).
Amazing taste would rate 8/10.
Wish the onions used were cut julienne style, just my personal preference nothing wrong.

“hole in the wall type of thai restaurant. it’s casual, fast, and a great spot for lunch. they don’t play with their spice so if you want authentic thai spice, this is your place. flavors are good. pad thai was a little bit more saucey than usual. the fried rice dishes are fire.“

“First time here, small little mom and pop place. Fresh hot food, flavorful, fair priced, friendly and fast service! Clean on the inside, not a huge sit down area but does have enough to cater to a few groups, looks to be more carry out! Ordered crab Rangoon, hot and sour soup, masaman, and curry fried rice, all very flavorful and fresh! Would Recommend and will be back myself!“

“Malay Food was great. Had the Nasi Lemak. Rice was wonderful. The Roti appetizer was really good too. Seemed authentic. Tom Kha soup was great (Thai). Did not try the Chinese food. The place needs an update for the decor. People are great too. It is easy on the wallet. You should go more than once to get used to the food.“

“I arrived on an early Friday night. It was busy. I was seated and I didn’t get a menu until 15 minutes later. After I placed my order, it arrived fairly quickly. I ate the Firecracker roll and the Shoyu Ramen.
I personally don’t like sushi but the firecracker was AMAZING. I’m definitely coming back only for this dish.
Shoyu ramen was 1/10. Don’t bother.
The decor is pretty out dated. The place is wheelchair assessable. There is a parking garage right across this restaurant. There are a few parking spots outside but they were taken up at the time of visit.“

“We had an amazing meal, drinks and experience at Zao Jun. We were planning on heading through the area and checked out their menu online and it looked amazing. Our server was actually the bartender Jeff who was pulling double duty and did it flawlessly and with laughter. We had amazing drinks....the crab rangoons and sauce were the best we ever tasted and so was the miso soup (got more to take home). And the veggie lo mein and short ribs bao buns were outstanding and perfectly portioned for my daughter and I to try (and still have lo mein to take home). Her and I already plan to go back and sit at the bar next time because Jeff seriously won us over with his personality as well as the food and atmosphere!!“
