“A special day. A special night. Couldn't be better. Arranged by our son and daughter. The waiter did everything, except eat our food. The wines were a delight and the steak and salmon were prepared with artistry. He guided us with each entre and the salad was shared by us with dressing aside. Wine, was by the glass and was both red and white and light, semidry and elegant. Our perfect dinner ended the perfect evening. Thank you 220 Merrill for a wonderful 50th.“

“If you’re looking for burgers and sandwiches, this is your place. Prices are super reasonable as well, especially for being in downtown Rochester. It is a bar, so it’s not gourmet, but it’s probably the best bar food you’ll have. The only issue is parking since their lot has probably 6 or 7 spaces. You’ll probably end up parking across the street at the library or behind the building next door near the community park.“

We don’t get many opportunities to get out as a family as my wife is a full time nurse and I am an equipment manager in the logging industry. The food was delicious and the music was perfect. “The food was good, but let me explain the 3 stars I gave it. A 5-star restaurant is reserved for high end dining, as is 4 stars. If I were to rate the food based on their peers (bar food) it would be 5 stars. The menu had a lot to chose from. My brother raved about his patty melt. The chicken Quesadilla was fantastic. I am putting C. J. Mohoney's in my regular dining rotation.“

“Where do I even begin? The second we walked in the door, everyone was so wonderful! We took our twins out to celebrate their second birthday! Our waiter Nicholas was so kind and patient! He made sure our babies food was put in quickly and came out hot and fresh. (They were getting hangry. haha) Nicholas gave us some recommendations and they did not disappoint! 👏🏽 Everything we got was fresh, hot, and delicious, from the appetizer, to our meals, to the twins' meals. Even my mocktail was spot on! Their manager, Amanda, was who delivered our food. She was so sweet and cheerful!! She came back over later on to check on us and wish our babies a happy birthday! The entire restaurant was clean and well maintained. You can truly tell the staff enjoy their jobs. Nicholas and Amanda made sure we had a great first experience. My hubby and I have decided to come back, minus babies, and have a date night so we can further enjoy the extensive, and yummy looking, menu. 10/10 highly recommend.“

Came in for taco night, THESE TACOS ARE AMAZING. I got two corn tortillas with everything on them. The fresh jalapeño is diced to a nice size, complimentary of the taco itself instead of large chunks that over power the seasoning. The meat itself was seasoned to perfection. Everything else was fresh and the portions were perfect. Definitely coming back for more taco nights!“

“Over 25 crowd (most patrons were 40s +). There is a $15 minimum to use a card so if you're just having 1 drink, bring cash. No cover. Pool tables and bar. I was told they no longer sell food at this Bar & Grill but I didn't confirm if the kitchen closes very early, is temporarily closed or closed indefinitely. There is outdoor space and also a food truck up the alley behind the businesses on Grand River. The staff was friendly and there was plenty of seating. It's not huge but there was a perfect number of people to enjoy yourself and not be crowded with people breathing COVID unknowingly. Old school music with some hustle tracks thrown in. I would go back.“

I think the food here is generally good but so many of our dishes were extremely salty they were almost inedible like the rice side dish and the sauce on the chicken dish. Pickle pie isn’t that special and wouldn’t recommend. Basically an Alfredo pizza with some pickles on top.“

“We didn't eat here, we stopped in for a cheer. This charming, and cozy bar had superb staff members who were extremely friendly, personable, professional, and provided speedy service. We saw some bands play in their parking lot during Royal Oak Tacofest. There's a small outdoor patio, and several tables inside The Rock on 3rd. Their beer menu is decent, and their martinis are delicious. Must visit!!“

“What a delightful bar. Cozy. Great food. Good prices. We popped in on a Sat night around 8:30 for “girl dinner”. Had the spinach and artichoke dip, mozzarella bruschetta, and two vey reasonably priced cocktails. The live music was the PERFECT volume. We could hear the music and still hold a conversation at a normal level. Jillian was friendly and attentive, and the food was amazing; just what we needed on a Saturday night. If I lived in the immediate area, I would be here all the time. Oak City Grill is my new favorite spot in Royal Oak.“
