“Had an early dinner reservation with a friend who had never been to 220 Merrill before. It was a quieter time, right before the dinner rush, and we were able to catch up without any large parties or excessive noise. We both ordered the salmon, which was some of the best fish I've ever had. Perfectly cooked to medium, crispy on the outside, and it came with a sauce that perfectly complimented the potatoes and broccolini. Our server was Shannon, and he made sure we had everything we needed and also gave us the space to enjoy our dining experience. Every time we took a sip of water, there was another server going around, making sure our glasses were always full. I'm glad I could show my friend a new place, and we both agreed that we would be coming back so she could experience what it's like at night.“

“Very fancy and expensive restaurant. One of the few restaurants in metro Detroit (and likely the whole of Michigan) that serves Baked Alaska. They do not flame it in front of you nor does it come with sparklers like some restaurants may do. Still it was delicious. Jamie was a great waitress, friendly and in a good mood. There is no parking lot for Forrest, however after 5:30 pm and on weekends you can use the AAA Birmingham parking lot which is right next door. Very nice interior. The water glasses are small. There is a candle at the table.“

“Utay was a fabulous waiter. He was very busy , but his helper was there checking on us. It was New Year's Eve , so a fixed price menu was offered. We both chose to take it. Everything was fantastic!!!! My only complaint... were a few of the other tables. Complaining about everything!!!! If it were my restaurant, I would've asked them to leave. Sorta put a damper on the evening. But will definitely go back .. maybe the guests had too much to drink!!“

“Iconic Avocado Toast, puts the rest to SHAME!! We are right across the street from this gem and no only is the food always supurb, the staff is always on point and they run our food to us at no charge if we need them to. The truffle fries and a cheeseburger are my fave guilty pleasures.“
